  1. Well I just need to share a bit! I was having a real struggle yesterday. It was the first day that it has happened since March 4th when I made the choice to go forward with my surgery! ( which was May 4th )

I had a really hard time staying on the right foods! for instants I ate 1/4 of a toasted cheese sandwich! yep bread! I know better than that. But before I realized what I did it was down! and then I make the little ones popcorn for there snack... and here I was popping it into my mouth! I could not believe it! then I started the head games of will you blew it! you can go ahead and continue. Last night my family went out to dinner to Celebrate my parents 49 th wedding Anniversary! ( if you read past post you knew what we have through the past year, And know why it was so important!) Any way when I walked in ( late because my close were to big!!!!:omg: ) and I had to find something smaller to wear! :clap2: my family all gave me such compliments that I was embarrassed. Any way back to the bad day... I ordered a shrimp cocktail ummmmmm! and that was all I was going to eat.. well my niece who sat next to me ordered a chocolate chip mint mud pie!!! yep three small bites later with everyone watching... Did I let them down? I was so upset! the support they have giving me has been wonderful! I went for a long walk with my dear hubby along the Water front and I told him how I was feeling, I was letting my self down plus him and my family... he said take each day as it comes!... don't look back! step forward! take yesterday and find out what you learned from it.

I soul searched and found that I am still dealing with old habits that are hard to break. I need to take owner ship of what I did and start a new!

I DID!!!! today I got up at 5 AM cleaned the house, did all the laundry,

weeded the gardens, watered the lawns, and went to the gym I worked out for two hrs. one on my own! one with the trainer. I feel so much better today! I guess yesterday was just a learning day!

Sorry if I went on and on..... just needed to share!

  2. Good Morning everyone! I know I have not posted for a long time! I am doing great! I wanted to share a few things: First off I am down 35 lbs since my May 4th Surgery. A total of 97 lbs since January. I feel great. I am now working with a personal trainer. Me in a gym I never in my life thought would happen. But I enjoy it !

My husband and I spent the weekend camping and boating. We spent most of the last four days on the beautiful Puget Sound ( Washington St.) The best part was my NSV: this year I am able to get in and out of the boat with out any problems. In the past I have looked like a whale getting in and out of the boat with rolling up on to the swim step and then rolling in to the boat or having to have help getting in. It was so nice to climb on to the swim step and feel great. I was also able to climb in while the boat was on the trailer. I"m so excited about it! We had such a great time! the eagles were everywhere and Oh how I wish I would of brought a camera.

This was the first big weekend where I was faced with lots of food around me! it was hard. as when when we camp many people have chips, deserts, candy, ect.... just sitting out and about for all to eat! but I made it just fine! When tempted I would just walk to the the beach or go for a swim. I made sure that I swam daily for a hour! it was exercise for the past 4 days.

I just wanted to share! next year I will be Water skiing!

  3. I received my gift while I was gone camping! When I got home it was here! I want to thank Gwendolyn Jorgens for the beautiful wind chime of a hummingbird and the book Suburban Safari: A Year on the Lawn! I have time to sit back in the yard and read it today, and listen to the chimes. I had taken pictures but the camera is not working. I will get them on as soon as I can get this thing working. Thank you so much!

  4. Sherry Lou, I am thinking of you, as these are some things I to have had to overcome. I have felt so much better since I made the commitment to have the surgery and have lost 90 lbs. ( since Feb.2006 Surgery May 42006) I am 7 weeks post op and have never felt better about my self. My prayers are with you as you battle the struggles of life.

  5. Oh My gosh what a day! First off went to curves and worked out. Then at 8:30 AM met with my trainer. First time and first time in a gym! it took a whole lot for me to walk in there! And Jen (Trainer) was late! so I was unsure of what to do.. just stood around like a dummy! my legs have hurt since I met her on Monday an she showed me a few things we would be doing. Any how! she takes me to the elliptical machine and has me go on it for 6 min. 3 min into it my legs began really hurting, she kept telling me you can do it ! then she wanted me to reverse my direction and down I went! to the ground my legs gave completely out! I was so embarrassed and cried! That was my biggest fear! doing some thing like that. So then we move to the back of the gym and do a mat work out on upper body! I was better then.

After my work out I had to hurry home to get ready for a funeral for a father of two beautiful girls I use to care for in Daycare. I have kept in contact with them for the past ten years. They lost their mom to breast cancer at the age of 10 & 4 . They dad had never recovered from losing his brother, and two months later his wife. I found out he was in deep depression. He took his life last Wednesday and left these two girls with no family here. It was so hard to see them knowing they have no one! no parents to turn to! no one to be there on wedding days, birth of children, holidays, ect... I hurt so much for them!

Sorry for rambling! so if you think about it say a prayer for these two beautiful young women they will need all the guidance they can get!

Now off to drink my Water and rest my aching legs....

  6. My lap band friends, I am asking prayers for two young girls I took care of when they were in my childcare center. Ten years ago these you girls, women! went through a lot when their mother died of breast cancer. Lauren was 10 and Caitlin was 4. It was very tough on them and their father. Lauren grew up very fast and became mom to Caitlin. We did as much as we could do for them and have always kept in contact with them. Lauren went on to collage after graduation ( graduated with my son ) and Caitlin continues school. She will be a sophomore in High school in the fall. Tomorrow night will be her 9 grade formal dance. Last Wednesday they father left them by committing suicide.( I have been told debt and grieving over his wife Linda ) Now these two younger women have no one. It breaks my heart to think of them going through their young life's with no parents. Their maternal grandmother flew out from ND and is staying to help them with things. I all so just found out that they will be losing the house soon. SO no where to live! I am asking that you add these two beautiful girls in your prayers! I know they will need guidance.

  7. Tomorrow is my big day! I see the Dr. for a fill and six week follow-up. I am not sure about a fill yet, I still have a lot of restriction. I can eat my ounce of food every 4 hours and am just satisfied. My problem lately is getting my last Protein Drink in. It seems like I get everything else done for the day go to bed then I wake up an it dawns on me that I forgot my drink. I think I will start having it mid afternoon that way I will remember it. I want to join a gym. I see a lot of you have, but I am so afraid about being in public where it is mixed sexes working out. I really want to hire a trainer. Last night I pulled out a box of clothes that were from a cruise that we took three years ago and I can get them on comfortably but can not zip them due to my stomach. Ever since I had my hysterectomy I have lost muscle tone . I really need to work on it. We do have a small gym just up the road from us that I may go check out. I do go to curves three times a week and also work out on the treadmill 30-45 min daily. SO I am getting exercise. I so happy to see that all us May-banders are doing so well. It is exciting!

Susan: I will be thinking of you and your mom as you travel south. I understand that this is a hard time for you. You be in my prayers.

Enjoy what you can of this trip! and the bonding time with your mom!

3loves: congrats on the 12 lbs!!! that is great!

as for my green grass... 16-16-16 fertilizer. every 4 weeks. We mow it every other day! yep! I do have some dusty miller! but it is not in the pictures (lol) if I can keep the dear little bunnies from eating my dahlias I will be happy!!!

  8. Great News!My dad is on his way home. Our prayers work well! It will still be a long recovery but at least he can be home. I think it will be the best for him. After spending the day at the hospital yesterday I feel that his chance of infection will greatly decrease with being out of the hospital.

Thanks everyone. I continue to pray for each of you and your request.
