April 2019 Surgeries!
Stalled out for about 2 months, though honestly I am feeling pretty good. Here are the stats: High Weight: 376 (March 2018) 14 day diet start weight: 345 Surgery day weight: 330 Current weight: 286.6 (lowest I have seen was 281.4, which is frustratingly close to the 270's). Reason: My own dang fault. I am eating appropriate amounts now and I get the clues to stop. But it is the little things that add up. Peanut butter, for example. Best thing that works - drinking A LOT OF WATER! When I catch myself creeping back up to 290, I just hit the water (or propel or G2) hard for a couple of days.

April 2019 Surgeries!
OK, let's hear from anyone else who is a April 4 surgery! Here is my report: I am at BariatricPal Hospital MX in Tijuana. Surgery appears to have gone well - I only have 4 holes in my belly and not 5 like I expected. Coming out of anesthesia was hard, but it always has been for me in prior surgeries, including my bilateral knee surgeries a couple of years ago. One thing I will tell you is they will warn you about the gas pain and bloating, but it is hard to believe until you experience it. It isn't really pain, but more like a hard uncomfortable feeling. But I have had a barium enema before and the pain wasn't any worse than that. My biggest problem was back pain and apparently hypertension (because they keep wanting to treat it). They do a leak test again in the AM, so nothing is going down tonight, so taking ibuprofen sublingually really sucks. But I soldiered through it and got to the other side. I can sleep on my right side now, but not my left. The last bit of discomfort is in my left upper abdomen around one of the holes. Not pain, just discomfort. Took my first walkabout on the floor and sat out in the little foyer here at the hospital. No problems with the walkabout and I am generally feeling pretty OK. If I am felling better tomorrow, all is going to be great, I feel!

April 2019 Surgeries!
And thoughts to all those having surgery today. I am flying out to San Diego this afternoon for surgery tomorrow. On the plus side, this morning my weight sans clothing was 329.6. That is the first time it has been below 330 in at least two years, maybe longer. Regarding a clear liquid diet today, after 10 days of a full liquid diet, I am pretty much up for anything. Now if I can only get my 15-year-old to get her behind in motion.

April 2019 Surgeries!
I'll admit I eased in to the first day (had to have that last Whataburger sausage egg and cheese on a Jalapeno cheddar biscuit . . . ), but it has been all liquid since then. Surprisingly very little hunger (though I am feeling a little right now), and no cravings two days in. The struggle will be really intense tonight (Wednesdays have been fajita night for me and the family for almost 10 years), and next week will be another challenge because I have to travel next week even before surgery. I think I have now seen 4 of us on the 4th and 5 on the 3rd. Surgery will be upon us sooner than we think!

April 2019 Surgeries!
I'm a few days behind you - starting liquids on the 25th. Definitely dreading the first three days as well, and I'm glad I had a few days after getting back from a prescheduled Disney vacation (I was originally scheduled to go for surgery in December, but got derailed by insurance), the key is to have something external to focus upon. Surgery: VSG Date: April 4th, Dr. Ilian HW: 376 CW: 351 GW: 240/200
