    November 2018 Sleevers!?!?

Hey everyone, just stopping in to see how everyone is doing? I am still moving along so I feel good about where I am headed... feels like everyday gets easier and easier, I will be honest and say remembering my vitamins can be the hardest thing even with a reminder set on my phone, kind of grateful I use the patches because I can where them to bed. Everyone ready for easter? I am not to worried about temptation I did get some mini kind bars... in case something creeps up but really not worried haven't had many sweet cravings and when I do I usually have a fruit... Will say that I am obsessed with pickles and olives... things I hated before surgery now can't ever seem to get enough of lol. Hope everyone is doing well!!

    November 2018 Sleevers!?!?

Hi Everyone! Just wanted to check in an see how everyone is doing? things here have been fabulous, I can't believe that amount of energy I have, keeping up with my toddler is so easy now, accomplished my first flight since surgery I was not in need of a belt extender, the tray flipped down with room to spare, I was able to cross my legs and sat in the middle next to my husband and toddler and no problems... I am getting between 800- 1000 calories a day and between 50 and 60 grams of protein a day... meeting water goal, and continuing my vitamins, I am not going to a gym currently but I do walk everyday, and use the elliptical in the basement. I have currently lost 86 lbs altogether since November, meal planning and structure has become easier... logging is key for me. I have noticed my body having a pattern of losing about 2lbs a week some weeks more some weeks 1lb.... I look at it as a win all around. I hope everyone is doing well!!

    November 2018 Sleevers!?!?

Hi Everyone- Just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing? I know the FB page is finally a closed group so it is cool to see people writing on there. I have a 1.5 lb regain? Healing? Bloating? Something that happened about a week and half ago, have since lost it and fingers crossed broke a two week stall with a two pound loss. I never broke from the program, but I do think I am supposed to be increasing something at the three month mark, calories to ratio burned? I am doing more so maybe that? Or calories overall? I am not super worried and have my 3 month meeting on Wednesday so I am looking forward to talking to them about it all! What are people struggling with these days in food intake? For me I am always struggling to get the full protein in at the end of the day when I get to I seem to hover at 57- 59 grams of protein but just no way I can fit anymore in, my carb ratio has been great, I tap out at about 800- 900 calories a day, the closer I am to 900 I feel like I have had to much... like fuller feeling on that day like open a button full feeling? Anyone else? In other news I bought a swim suit... like legit thought it was going to be too small... a size 16 (previous swimsuit size 24) and it fit already. I am leaving for vacay in a month and it already fit... I was so excited!!!I had also bought a few capris in a size large and they also already fit a little snug but by the time I go I think will be perfect! I just am so excited. It really is an amazing journey!

    November 2018 Sleevers!?!?

it is good to hear you are doing a bit better! and the reflux meds working is great, and I think reevaluating at 6 months is a great option. it is also good that you asked them about the pain, and good they seem to think it is normal, if it will help you write about it daily in your notes where you keep track on food intake pain today felt like and then you will have a reference for it to either show the dr or it won't be something you feel you have to write about any longer. The burps... hands down one bite extra and I feel the same way for like an hour.... so ugh lol... I did this this weekend, had some chili it was sooo good, it was so cold out and this was just everything, got to about 3 3.5 ounces in (had portioned out 4 ounces) and I just didn't want it to end... I challenged an extra bite and my body quickly let me know not a good idea. I spent the next hour wishing I had listened to my body. The burping and discomfort not worth it. I hope this week is better than last week! EVEN WHEN IT IS HARD KNOW YOU HAVE GOT THIS!!

Thanks, and I am so jealous you are going so soon!!! I literally can not wait.... you are going to have a great time... magic extra if you stop at the barber shop on main street they can put pixie dust on you for free... additional note that dust can be found a year later I swear it doesn't come off lol! I hope you have an excellent time, I am actually thinking out taking photos and sharing my food options along the way lol... I love me some Disney and tend to go there more than I should lol it is addicting so if you have any questions let me know... but have the best time and enjoy all the moments.

    November 2018 Sleevers!?!?

Many hugs, I know I can't stop you from stressing about everything but I really wanted to start by pointing out your strength... you see it is not easy to say hey I am not feeling right or even put it into words our fears or anxiousness... you are already doing good job, you are recognizing you don't feel right and you sound like you are taking the steps to figure it out, so I will say that is true strength and you will probably do great, maybe your dr. will be able to recommend treatments without meds if that is what will work for you. I will also say it is hard to know for sure everything is ok in this process right... we had a surgery that was big and that is having an immediate effect, we know it happened but can't see it in a lot of ways so healing a cut you can see it getting better for the most part with this we can't see our pouches or stomachs as they heal, and it is easy when we have reflux or we throw up or have a pain or stitch to think the worst. I really get it, when I was having issues with #2... I had read a horrible case scenario and was convinced it was going to happen to me too... (obs. my anxiety at the time was higher before med adjustment for me). even though it is hard you are talking about it, and going to a dr. and having a discussion is really a great idea, I think you will find a lot of people on these boards also have similar feelings as you. You can also bring all of this up to your surgeon as well, about the reflux concerns and see if an endoscopy is warranted to make sure there isn't anything else going on.

Dreaming- I am so sorry you are struggling, I have anxiety, but had it before, ( I have a child with a lot of needs and often in the hospital if I am completely honest) My dr. did have me come in after the procedure and did increase my meds... my anxiety had increased. I think it is good to talk to your dr. they can listen and help you in the right direction. This process is a BIG process in such a short time there are so many changes and it is easy to get lost. It sounds like you have a good husband who supports you and wants the best for you. hang in there!

    November 2018 Sleevers!?!?

Hi Everyone- I hope everyone is doing well adjusting to our new ways of living, I am officially 70lbs down... without weighing myself so far this week... I have realized sometimes how when I look at myself I think I am the same as always... my husband was laughing the other day because I said something like I wonder if I will fit... we booked a trip to a famous mouses house and I was talking about a ride... anyways he looked at me and was like for real... and I was. That was when he told me that I should do a comparison... you can see that below... yes I am not wearing makeup lol but the difference in just a few months blew me away... I mean I feel the difference energy wise, I know I have been following my plan... just harder to see the big change when you see yourself everyday I guess. So I encourage everyone to do the same to celebrate the hard work we have been doing! On that note how is everyone doing can you believe we are coming up on 3 months? I have learned I want a healthy relationship with food, it takes only a few moments to food prep or make great choices. I do think I have fallen in love with cooking and baking again. I like and take comfort in making and prepping my own food to know I am ok. I see changes in my family as I am cooking better choices as well. I am struggling a little with meeting my proteins everyday... just falling short of 60 grams... trying to find better ways to boost through food items... any suggestions are welcomed. I also realize I am still not showing any signs of feeling hungry but do see that when I haven't eaten in awhile my energy will plummet significantly... so I try to eat something small every three hours.

Oh No, still not a big improvement with the meds? Anything that you notice might trigger it more than something else food or drink wise? I hope it starts to improve soon!

    November 2018 Sleevers!?!?

That is awesome!! you are doing a great job! I don't think you are losing too slow at all, I think even when I look at my numbers sometimes I am in shock it is easy to just look at the overall number that I have lost, but I do have to remember that a little was before surgery too. You are right in line with what they expect for you to lose. It is great to not look at it as a race. SO HAPPY FOR YOU!

    November 2018 Sleevers!?!?

I hope it goes away too, with all the changes I think that 3- 6 month is really a good time frame to find out, and yes heatburn and gerd and reflux is awful I agree... I will keep my finger crossed that as healing continues you will not have the HB!

    November 2018 Sleevers!?!?

I was given meds for 3 months, and my dr told me normal to have to take them until 6 months or longer like permanent, I will say I have been really lucky, Knock on wood, haven't taken mine for awhile now and no issues, but if you are having an issue I would say reach out and get that script again.
  18. I think it is great that you told your dr. how you are feeling. I think you should keep monitoring it. What exercise are you currently doing? walking is all you should be doing... I agree with previous poster about the weight loss it is too early to give up stick with the program and hang in there it does get better.

900 calories is great they tell us to always aim for 800 to 1000 calories and try to get between 60 and 70 grams of protein, also try to get in 64 ounces of water daily, that being said there are days where I don't make that either. are your restrictions off texture wise like can you eat foods with out making them softer now? It sounds like you are doing great with Protein and intake, when I stalled I found that increasing my carbs and fats helped? Odd I know, but I would have a slice of cheese, and some carrots, or broccoli just a little bit helped to move that a little bit. My dr and Dietician said it was time to get off the shakes, liquid calories that won't consistently be beneficial? I was shocked and scared, but coming off them with in two weeks I noticed improvement, I was able to get more protein in from foods that were healthy, and more veg which I thing is helpful, I am FINALLY starting to go to the bathroom on a more normalized schedule and I can get all of my water intake complete. The shakes constipated me, now I know you have a different plan than me and your dr. may have different recs for you so I would always try to follow them. more water should help, good luck!

    November 2018 Sleevers!?!?

You are right the mental journey of this is so hard, it can be amazing, confusing, and overwhelming if you get to wrapped up in it, it does sound like you are in a stall, and the stalls always make us feel like we are going to fail, it is a lot of mental work to trust the process and follow through with our actions, but it does work. I think for a time I was convinced I was a slow loser... But it just takes getting over the hump so to speak. Most of us are in our 2nd month, our bodies are changing so much in a short amount of time, and it can be so easy for us to feel like it is not working. The truth is our bodies are healing and doing what they need to, our bodies fat cells have been so used to us filling them up with fat that now they are still waiting for us to continue that and we are not so it holds onto water and it takes our bodies time to release that. Hang in there, take a look at your intake where are you at proteins, carbs and fats, overall calorie count per day and see if anything needs to be adjusted? Exercise? do you log daily? if you need help we are here! But really hang in there!

Chicken is not too fond of me either, but I will tell you I kept trying in small quantities and recently had success with eating boarshead everroast chicken deli slices, it has literally been the only chicken I have been able to keep down. Eggs have their moments, but turkey, seafood, and meat no problems. hopefully we can be adventurous together this week! I am addicted to the taste videos... no joke can't stop watching have learned a few things I think and working on my cooking skills. it used to be easier when I didn't care about the ingredients I was using, but I have found I am enjoying this new way of learning to cook and experimenting with flavors and textures. Little by little right!
