I feel great and like my surgery was successful and has made my life easier. Just took my first business trip in a few months and needed to buy new, straight size suits and didn't bring a seatbelt extender because I knew I wouldn't need it. Eating on the road went fine, lots of salads and yogurt. I haven't lost any hair and am getting close to Onederland.

I've taken both without issue. I just read all the ingredients to make sure they don't use NSAIDs.

I was very lucky that I got my doctor to do a single incision sleeve. My doctor did it through my belly button. She did have to make two other little incisions because I was too tall. Please check with your surgeon as soon as you can. People with gastric sleeve surgery usually are not supposed to take NSAIDs, including ibuprofen. We can take Tylenol.

I understand why you are angry. My husband is 19 years older than I am and my biggest fear is that he is going to die. My husband has diabetes and I find Dunkin' Donut wrappers in the back of his car and he buys junk and brings it in the house and eats unhealthy fried food when we go out. It's taken me MANY, many hours to explain what is healthy for an overweight 68 year old man with Diabetes to be eating. I wish he was interested in the surgery or reading nutrition information on food at the store, but it's just not going to happen right now. It's like flying. You have to secure your own oxygen mask first before you can help others. I realized, to have a happy marriage, I was going to have to lead the eating healthy movement by example, but that nagging him or "catching" him doing stuff that terrible for him is not going to make anything better. He has to want to get healthier on his own timeline. Good luck, I empathize.

On my program you aren't allowed gummies but you can take chewable multi-vitamins. There are also patches, liquid like Tespo and and BariMelts. I was getting my B12 by monthly injection from my primary care physician until I got used to all the pills. So you might want to ask your surgeon about these options. I have found it much easier to take pills with a thick liquid. I use tomato juice and protein shakes work well too.

I did a Protein Shake for breakfast and a Lean Cuisine meal for lunch and dinner for a week pre-op. That's what my surgeon asked us to do. It was unpleasant but not terrible.

My doctor does not recommend the bypass over the sleeve unless someone has GERD or there is another medical reason not to get sleeved. I'm sure she would do bypass if someone had a reason for doing it. She's runs one of the topic hospital WLS programs in Boston. But the practice of going and and seeing what kind of scarring and issues someone has and then deciding which surgery to do is more common than you would think.

Multi Level Marketing is independent sales where you can't make money without recruiting people to sell "under" you creating a pyramid. At that point, they become illegal and many such companies are currently embroiled in lawsuits. There are often wealthy, charismatic people at the top of the pyramid that manipulate people into thinking it's their fault if they can't recruit their friends and family to sell the often shoddy or dangerous products. Some types seem pretty innocent like Tupperware and Avon, but many involve untested oils or diet supplements that are dangerous. This is a great article about the BITE model of influence that is what leads some people to get sucked into these scams.

You got sleeved after me and we have lost about the same. My surgeon says I'm doing great. I have noticed I lose more when I up my calories a little, like to 1,000 - 1,200 and that's what my dietician has recommended as well. Good luck!

I don’t watch it. I think it’s exploitive.

I didn't decide to do it until I had tried everything else. I had had multiple major weight losses including 80 lbs. on Phentermine, but no matter my resolve, the weight always came back. When I started to become handicapped by lower back pain from degenerative disc disorder, I decided to have the surgery and get this sorted before I hit 50. If you don't think you need it, by all means don't get it. Any surgery has potential negative side effects.

Just like it says... what's a food you didn't eat before surgery that you now love and are obsessed with? My first one is Light String Cheese! I don't think I ever ate String Cheese pre-surgery and now I have a 2-3 as a snack every other day at least. 3 strings are 150 calories with 18g protein, no carbs, and 7.5g fat. Fun and keeps me full for hours.

My HR person, who I was kind of friendly with, really tried to get it out of me and it seemed like it was in a drama/gossip way. Some HR people are the worst. I just told her it was private until she gave up.

My doctor recommended Yoplait Light right after my surgery. I couldn’t handle Greek yogurt for the first few weeks.

It wouldn't hurt for a couple of days, but hard to track if you are only weighing monthly.

The nausea is of some concern. Have you called your surgeon? I can do 100 of protein if I add a shake, protein drinks like Isopure, and protein chips I buy on here. For the constipation I take Colace 1-3x a day and just added Fleet Liquid Glycerin Suppositories and Benefiber Fiber Supplement Powder to my regimen. I hate stimulant laxatives because they give me stomach cramps, so this is my plan to avoid them entirely.
