  1. I'm sorry, I found this hilarious. Whatever works for you. I, myself, prefer to eat food like most humans.

    Smoother, Girdle, Compression, Shaper

I like Bali Women's Shapewear Seamless Brief Ultra Control because I don't like too much compression. These are pretty comfortable. I have some Spanx but they are often too tight for me. I enjoy breathing.

    Constipation

Like a month after my surgery, if I hadn't gone in a day or two and felt like I needed to, I started taking Colace. Just one a day. Now I'm 11 months out and if I haven't gone in a day or so, I take one and usually get results by the next morning. It's a stool softener, not a laxative, so you don't get cramps. Happily, that's been all I've needed. But as everyone has said, right after surgery there's not enough in there for you to need to go very often.

    Need help

I would follow your plan. Right now, your #1 job is drinking water.
  5. @cajunredpanda, your surgeon wants to do the surgery on you. The psych test is really just to make sure you can follow the directions to safely get the surgery, which it sounds like you can. I also had depression and anxiety and all the psychologist wanted to know was that I was in treatment and would continue it post-surgery. You live with your parents and I live with my husband. He went from very unsupportive to highly supportive after he saw how smoothly everything went and how happy I am now. So some people's opinions do change. I don't see how being autistic would be a factor as long as you can follow your plan, which it sounds like you can. Anyone who is surprised someone would cry or have a panic attack in such a stressful situation probably needs more training. So. I would talk to your surgeon or practice manager and explain what has happened and ask for a psychologist with more experience with autism, or if you can use your own. If they are not helpful, I would find another program. Good luck!!!
  6. This is probably the harshest thing I have ever written on here, but unless you have some issue I'm not aware of, I think your doctor is bananas. I wonder if it's some test to see if you can do it? I had the same surgery and could have a shake and 2 lean cuisines a day the 2 weeks before surgery and only had one day of liquids. That being said, I don't think taking them for a week would hurt because you won't be able to eat after surgery, but the hunger that comes back when you go off appetite suppressants is always a concern. I would ask your doctor if the diet is really mandatory and about the appetite suppressants.
  7. Oooh, yeah. I meant ingest not inject!! Good to know. I've tried it in a stick on my back and it didn't do anything for me. Of course, I'm sure it works well for other people.
  8. Hi! I take prescription Xanax and have tried CBD. CBD didn't help me or many of my friends with anxiety. I don't think a facemask would help at all, you'd have to ingest it. Since you've never taken it before, I don't think now's a good time to start. They gave me something when I got to the hospital that made me so jello that I don't really remember going in for surgery and getting anesthesia. Just my opinion, of course. I wouldn't start with it now, when you are going to get blood drawn, etc. CBD laws vary state by state and it's still illegal in some states. Why can't you keep taking Xanax? I'm dependent on it, so they even put it in my drip at the hospital so I wouldn't get withdrawal symptoms.

How long did hair loss last for you??

I didn't lose any. I did eat more protein and calories than a lot of people.
  10. Always cold, always sneaking the AC warmer at home and work. I have a sleeve, I’m almost a year out, and have an overweight (not obese!) BMI. Peri menopause May be a factor. I’m considering buying long johns.
  11. Hi @AggiG, I had my surgery almost a year ago so I was talking about what I was worried about before I had it. I also have a law degree. People do illegal things in the workplace on a regular basis. When you work for a small, privately held company, you want to keep the CEO on your good side. Many people view WLS as cosmetic surgery and I didn't want to know what he thought about it. I've kept it a secret from my coworkers, happily. I feel great, so thanks!

    Favorite bras?

Chantelle C Smooth Collection Full Coverage T-Shirt Bra A lot of side coverage and lift. You can find them in the $40 range online, they retail for $76. It's this one.
  13. I think I had a lot of the fears that someone with anxiety would have. What if I fail? What if people know I got the surgery and judge me, especially my relatives? What if I gain the weight back like I have every other diet I've been on? What if I get some serious medical problem? What if my CEO finds out and is mad I did this on his health insurance? How am I supposed to do the laundry if I can't lift more than 15 lbs.? I'm 10 months out and so far, none of these things have happened, knock on wood.
  14. If you like fish, it's a soft, low-calorie source of protein. I also buy chicken apple sausage, eggs, turkey bacon, almond milk, and Healthy Choice Power Bowls to name a few things.

    Quotes & Inspiration

Dieting is hard. Maintaining is hard. Being fat is hard. Choose your hard.
  17. I take Tramadol for degenerative disc disease and arthritis in my back.
  18. I still get hungry sometimes, but I have to spend a long time thinking about if I am really hungry or just feel like eating something. My restriction is so strong at 8 months that a couple of low-fat cheese sticks or a yogurt is enough to totally fill me up until the next meal.

    Weird things happening

I have no idea how old you are but WLS can bring on early menopause. Could it be a hot flash? Oh, I see you're 24. Bad guess. Good luck figuring it out.

    one year surgerversary

    Wow, impressive loss!
  21. Did you also quit caffeine? That gives a lot of people headaches. Good luck!
  22. I think the issue was a minor (in my opinion) misreporting of the amount of protein, 2-5 grams less than what it said on the label. I assume it has been resolved since they issued $9 million in the class action suit. But then I give people a little too much credit sometimes. I assume so, but I don't actually know. Article
  23. I’ve had a very easy time of it and don’t regret it at all. That being said, I’m freezing! I argue with my husband about the AC at home and secretly hate on whoever decided our office should be 70 degrees daily. I’ll be fine, just in a sweater and cold.
