    Masturbation

What point would that be? I certainly hope you are not trying to embarrass women for liking sex because sexism like that would be extremely inappropriate and I would probably report it.
  2. I like Moving Comfort Women's Maia Sports Bras.

    Masturbation

Newsflash. Some women like sex for themselves, not just for their man. This news may help you throughout the rest of your life.

    Help!

Over what period did you gain the 15 ish lbs.? Are you tracking your food and drinking your water? Are you following your doctor's plan? 15 is significant enough that I would stop drinking again. Not so much for the empty calories in alcohol, but the mixers and accidental snacking that can go with it. Can you call your dietician?
  5. I do it every day because I don't mind the normal couple of pounds of fluctuation from water, constipation, salt, etc. that I see. If it bothered me, I'd weigh in weekly or less.

    Little vent: spousal comments

This is transference. He's afraid YOU will no longer be attracted to him when you get thinner and more conventionally attractive. Pat him on the head and tell him to STFU.

11 days post op (gastric sleeve)

I let my surgeon know I took a benzo (Xanax) daily and they put it in my drip surgery day so I wouldn't go into withdrawal. I resumed taking it as prescribed the next day. (Swallowing the pill.) I'M NO DOCTOR, so if you can call one, that's what I recommend. But in my case, taking them was not an issue at all. If it's extended-release, as mine was, you may have to find a different formulation. Fortunately, regular release works fine for me now.

    Missing you

I'm lucky that I've found healthy options for most things I liked, and I didn't eat junk food before, however... I miss cookies, particularly homemade chocolate chip cookies like the size of your head.

    lean muscle mass building

It's really hard for women to bulk up lifting weights. Doing more reps at lower weights pretty much guarantees you'll just firm up and feel and look better. Lifting weight burns calories more efficiently than cardio and doing both works best provides the best health result like preventing bone loss.
  10. I had a lot of nice clothes so some went to my BFF who is that size and I sold some on eBay. When I'm stable for a few years I'll probably donate the rest. There's so much!

    Non Scale Victories

I'm leaving on a business trip tomorrow. It's one of the few occasions a year I wear a suit, because I'm speaking at the conference. All my suits are 16 or 14 and I've been wearing 14 or 12. I started trying them on and they are all hilariously large. I'm wearing the smallest jacket and a pair of slacks and going shopping when I get home! My Hanukkah present was going to be shopping at Athleta. Now I think it will be at Talbots. LOL

    I can gulp

I'm sorry I missed this, did you get a sleeve recently? At first, I didn't, but after a little while, I did. Right after surgery, I was supposed to eat 2 oz. at a time. I ate a 4 oz. jello (because there's always room for jello) and barfed. After that I made sure to measure everything, and now I feel a strong restriction. I forget when I started feeling it, but after 14 months, it's still there.
  13. This may be controversial. I don't believe BMI charts are the best way to measure much. They are the same for women and men. Muscle weighs more than fat. They were originally intended to monitor populations, not individual people. The scale isn't the best way to measure your progress/health. It's just the easiest way. I would work with your psychiatrist, who hopefully has some experience with bariatric patients, and work on reducing your negative thoughts around your weight. Good luck, I wish you the best.

    I can gulp

I could always drink easily. Just made it easier to get my fluids in.
  15. This is an individual sport. Don't worry about how much other people are losing or at what rate. Stick to your plan as much as you can and forgive yourself if you make an error. If you do make an error, go right back on your plan. You may need to track or tracking may make things harder You may want to weigh yourself daily or you may find it frustrating You may hate working out or find out you actually love something you have never tried before People will probably treat you differently and some of your relationships may change You may want to keep your surgery a secret or you may want to start a blog about it You did this for yourself, and you're in charge. Reading about other people's experiences is helpful, but ultimately your experience will be your own. Enjoy the fun things along the journey like fitting into smaller sizes. There really is no final goal, this is a lifelong journey with ups and downs.

    What The Hell Man

My coworkers know I am intentionally losing weight but not about the surgery, so they are supportive. Only one person, my nice manicurist, quietly asked if my health was OK. I think it’s more normalized for women to constantly be dieting or trying to lose weight than men.

    NSAIDS

I have a sleeve and unfortunately Tramadol, my go to for chronic back pain, has just been reclassified as an opioid, which makes it harder to get prescriptions and harder to get them filled.

    Not feeling full

I think the goal is to fill sated, like you satisfied your hunger, rather than full. It took me a few months and I do weigh and measure everything. Now, if I'm eating something like a salad with chicken on it, I'll eat the chicken and maybe half a cup of salad, and then I get a feeling like I've hit a wall. So I stop eating. It's kind of cool! It takes most people 20 minutes to fill "fullness" which is why eating slowly is important.
  19. I would have gotten him thrown out of the gym. Sorry that happened to you.

    Hair loss help

Biotin BariMelts seem like the strongest thing I tried. I had to stop taking them because hair I had lasered off my legs/pits started growing back! I had similar results with collagen. Have you tried asking your hairdresser for help covering it? BTW, I thought I didn't lose any hair but my hairdresser told me that I had! I have shorter hair now, but I love it. As far as I know, I've stopped losing it.

I meet with a personal trainer 2x a week. Having the appointment keeps me in line.

    Gastric Sleeve and Back Pain

Have you had an MRI? What does your doctor think? What's interesting is the same condition can cause extreme pain in some people and no pain in others. What helps me the most, and what many studies I've read show that moving by doing cardio and lifting weights helps. It helps more than stretching even. I did 9 months of PT and now I work out with a trainer and am a lot less dependent on medication. Here's an article about pain that's pretty interesting. Pain is weird. Sorry your back hurts.

    Weightlifting

Yeah, they do all the rope/tire stuff at Cross-Fit gyms. I wasn't up for a class but I did have a guy that owned one train me for a while. I have no idea how fit you are, but personal training and small group training is more motivating for me for weights. Then you can go off on your own with better ideas about what you like.
