  1. Those who've watched enough My 600lb Life will recognise that there can often be a lot of denial associated with the reality of obesegenic living. Whether it's mistakenly thinking surgery will make weightloss "easy" or just magically happen effortlessly, or denial about what quality and quantity of calories a person consumes (pre-op and post-op), the mental side of struggling with obesity is probably the most important part. Food for many of us who need WLS, is a drug of addiction. And it whispers into to your ear to justify all the behaviours that make you addicted to it. All I can say is, if you don't tackle the mind-games of obesity, surgery will not help you! (putting this here so I'm not shaming any one person in particular, and the advice is to myself as much as to anyone else). Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app

    Food Before and After Photos

Ooh I like the look of that. I might get some plain non fat not Greek yoghurt (so it's runny) to have a go at making a dressing like that. Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app

    ❤MARCH 2019 CHALLENGE❤

    6. What I could have done better today: well, I fasted today and didn't really have my dinner prepped. So, at sunset I was very hungry and I ended up having a Weight Watchers frozen meal which I never really do (alternative was take out and I defo didn't want to do that). It was pretty tasteless and protein serving was miserable. So then I ate a bologna in ciabatta which is defo off-plan. I stayed within my calorie goal but I need to be more prepared when I'm fasting. ❤MARCH 2019 CHALLENGE❤

Hope your toothypegs are OK. Favorite fruit these days are seedless red grapes. When I lived in far north Queensland it was fresh mango but now that I know what a mango is supposed to taste like, the ones we get in supermarkets are ersatz! Favourite veggie is eggplant but I cannot have it. First because best way to eat them is fry them and they soak up oil so that is not WLS friendly. Second, I seem to have some fashion of allergy to them. 75% of the time when I eat them I suddenly vomit violently and my face goes all blotchy and dark. The other 25% of the time I'm fine, so who knows? Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app

3 months in and first dumping

Might be the Japanese rice. It's high-GI which means your body breaks it down into glucose rapidly (compared to basmati) and could also be the amount you ate in one sitting. Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app

    No restriction

Yeah I don't have very much restriction and for me, chilli is a bit of a slider food. Try some firm, dense protein, eg 4 oz of chicken breast or prawns to gauge whether you have any level of restriction. You might find you really need to concentrate on the firm protein. Also make sure you really work on slowing your eating because the satiety signals take about twenty minutes to kick in. Then assess whether your meal has affected your hunger. If after twenty minutes or so you find you feel satisfied on firmer protein rather than softer foods like chilli, you'll know where you get the most "bang for your satiety buck" Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app

    4. Happy Childhood Memory. We lived on a farm when I was a kid, and my parents threw my brother and I a birthday party (our birthdays are three days apart). I remember it was a gorgeous sunny September day and dad had put bales of hay out for us to sit on. I felt like the sun was shining just for me and I can smell the hat even today. I love the Crabtree & Evelyn oriental range, particularly Ottoman Rose. It's bloomin' expensive - it's the poshest beauty product I own and I love it. https://crabtree-evelyn.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/80432_nocolor.jpg Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app

Every breath is a gift from the Beloved and I live in a beautiful corner of the world with very few worries, my health is getting better and better, my family love and support me, and my geriatric cat is still with us! When does it get better?

Yeah those first few days (even weeks) are pretty rough. Be prepared for the emotional ups and downs too. Surgery is a BIG SHOCK to your body and mind, so be kind to yourself and have patience with recovery. I think they gave me a pill for the nausea but I can't remember what it was. It was different than the omeprazole though. I didn't end up needing it after the second or third day though. I'm over four months out and so so so happy I did it. Maybe write a list of all the good reasons why you had the surgery so you can read it when you're feeling down. I'll post mine below. Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app
