    Treadmill criteria

i have a treamill too & i love it, i plug in my ipod & away i go, i was going to get the one with the tv screen but i thought that way a bit too OTT for me, it had to be packed away for xmas to all for room in one of the guest bedrooms, tonight hubby is getting it back from under the bed, as it folds away nicely by taking 2 bolts out (easy) Its sooo heavy to move..cost abut $1000..well worth it, bearing in mind im in the UK where everything over here is sooo very expensive Massive 22KPH Max Speed 6.5 HP Peak Motor Extra Large 7’ Blue LCD Screen 20 Stage Motorised Incline 150 kg Maximum User Weight (23.5 Stones) 12 Months Warranty MP3 / i-pod Socket and High Quality Speakers Hand Pulse Sensors Extra Large Running Deck (45cm wide) Space Saving Folding Mechanism Easy Wheel Manoeuvrability Shock Absorbent Running Deck Minimum Assembly Required 2 Man Delivery

    Appointment date

Hi Heather, ty so much for yur support, you are doing really well, i love water so much i can drink gallons of the stuff every day, but i dont sip it i drink it quite fast as i get thirsty esp if im active So should i enjoy christmas day & then start to watc what i eat?.. i have maintained the same weight now for 6 months & i cant believe it because i have never been able to do that before, i guess it will tell me when to start when i get the letter through the post? My husband said in the new year he is quitting smoking so i guess we can support each other, & get moody (on each others nerves)together..lol Though i am going for a xmas drink tonight with some friends & i am going to enjoy a nice long cool beer, as i have been told by my surgeon, i wont be able to drink carbs any longer, but i am so happy because i did get told i can still chew/suck on ice cubes...a habit i have.. crunch crunch crunch..

    January '09 banders

Im getting banded 21st january , Derby hospital, UK
  10. Hi Carden, good luck with your surgery, all will go well you see & before you know it your going to have a big smile on your face when you start seeing the weight come off  Im too from the UK, im waiting for a date from Derby hospital, ive had my consultation keep in touch
  11. Hi everyone, well i went for my consultation at Derby hospital in the UK last week, Bloods are all normal, cholesterol from 7.5 to 6.9 which im pleased about, They have told me i have to start eating 3 meals a day properly for 2 months, as im not a good regular eater, for years i have not eaten breakfast/lunch..i tend to eat at night..just the way i am.. So they said for the lapband to work i must eat normal..to which i am now.. I even lost 7lbs from last month without me realising,,big bonus.. So im just waiting for them to except me, to which they all said..surgeon/dietrition/nurse they could see no reason as to why not & over here the NHS waiting time is now about 3 months, so im hoping so much i will get to have the operation done this year

    Uptodate with me

Hi Kathy, thank you for your reply..I got told by my surgeon the lapband started in 1997 over here, I think quite a few people are getting it done over here but they dont like to admit to it, an english thing i guess, but i dont believe its something to be ashamed about as like i explained about myself i only eat at night, & who rarely exercises late at night? So that was a big downfall for my weight, & since eating throughout the day..im hungry.lol for the first time i can actually say im hungry in the day as where i never felt hungry before, i must be lucky where i could go hours & hours before i want something to eat were having a heatwave here at the moment, which im sure will help with extra weight loss hopefully im so glad your banded & losing weight..the surgeon told me he wants me to lose about 80-100lbs do you have much to lose?
  13. Hi i have got a date through to see the consultant at the hospital on the 21st july, I have already had blood tests done at my GP (doctor's surgery) & he said all were fine to them Normally this used to be done at the hospital but they are doing blood testing with your local doctors to cut the waiting list down as that procedure is normally the first thing they do at the hospital So my question is.... what will happen in the next stage when i go see them at the hospital ?.. when do i see a dietition ? etc Im from the UK & going to Derby hospital..any advice greatfully appreciated

    need advice

Hi Ann, I am so proud of you for your weight achievement well done  My weight has been a yo yo for the last 10 yrs, when i lose weight i can normally lose between 2-3 stone but then put it back on & more, I quit smoking after smoking for 23 years & im only 37, yikes, i was rushed to hospital 2 yrs ago thinking i was having a heart attack cos of my weight, but luckly it turned out to be muscles in my chest i had damaged, & i saw the top heart surgeon & he said if i didnt quit smoking it would kill me..NOT the weight, to which i was amazed, as i thought it would be the other way round..so i quit there & then & that was 2 years ago in april & i dont miss them one bit..in fact i hate the thought that i was a smoker..& thats coming from someone who said i would never give them up.........so why the hell cant it happen for my weight?...Thats why i am going for this op..i have tried so hard to lose weight but the damn thing wont shift, no matter how hard i exercise & be good.. Its so ironic as my grandfather died of a heart attack, my father died of cancer & my sister is full blown diabetic & NONE of them are over weight...its so strange how things are thrown at us.... The only thing that bothers me is i keep reading horror stories on here with people not coping with their band, being sick, bleeding, rushing to a&e, calling their doctors...is it really as bad as that? or maybe there not following the correct procedures ? How long was you in hospital fr & are you all recovered from the operation now? what kinds of foods are you eating? I know spalding i have a cousin lives there, he is a policeman Debbie. x

    First Step

Just thought id give you an update on the begining of my journey... Tonight i went to see my Dr & he is going to refer me straight away to the hospital, (sending a fax to them today) he said i shouldnt be waiting long to hear from them & he said he believes i will go on a liquid diet prior to my operation to reduce my liver, Ive come away feeling more hopeful knowing my Dr is behind me on this & he said he believes this is the best option for me to have the surgery & this will give me my life back.. Im going to be wanting the days to pass quickly to get to the hospital to be assessed & get a date for surgery Im sure i will have lots of questions, you guys are such an inspiration, & i cant wait to lose this weight once & for all Debbie.

  23. Hello to everyone, Im Debbie from the UK i've been lingering around this site for couple weeks & all of your stories are so inspiring to me, I have an appointment next wednesday with my doctor to talk about hopefully having the gastric lapband surgery, Through the telephone conversation with him last week it sounds like he's giving me hope, I lie awake everynight with thoughts of being slimmer/healthier, Im tired of crying tears of being unhappy the way i look & feel.. I want to be NORMAL the one who fits in the crowd with the rest & not the big bubbly girl who hides her pain on the inside & dreams of doing normal activities, going on vacation, riding a horse, wearing a bikini, wearing skimpier clothes in summer instead of sacks When i look at the before/after pics of you guys on here, i think to myself is it trick photography, Can i really look like you, All i know is i cant bear anymore of what i am & the hurting & misery im going through, My doctor did say there wasnt a long waiting list for surgery if i qualify to have it done through the NHS, im keeping my fingers crossed please do the same for me My husband friend wife had the surgery done 5yrs ago & she has been great with answering questions but it feels like i have tons more i will stop for now, dont want to bore people to death, but im looking forward to gettng to know you all more
