hi tammy congrats on your date..before you know it your date will be here..mines on wednesday..keep drinking plenty of fluids with your diet, & remember at first you might feel nausea, dizzy, etc but will go away after a few days

not too concerned about hair loss, i have very thick hair, so will prob do itsome good to shed some.. just cant get over how cold i am all the times, esp my fingers & toes.. want wednesday to speed along now

Its so important to eat ALL of your required calories so you dont feel so hungry..you would be so upset & angry to start cheating now when you have come so far to be turned away if your liver was too fatty, call your doc see what they say..then you know you are doing the right thing.. All docs are different, im on a solid food diet & i cant have soups until after my op..

WOW 46lbs in 1 month, thats a lot of weight loss..Do you have a lot of weight to lose ?

im on day 10 out of my 14 day pre op diet, ive lost 14lbs so far, not lost anything past 3 days due to TOM..hopefully next 3-4 days i will lose more

my surgery is Jan 21st..good luck..try & keep busy..go for walks etc..have a long hot bath, listen to music, read a book, check you have everything needed for your hospital stay.. It will be over & done with before we know it..keep us posted

i would start a low fat diet now & try your hardest to start losing some weight, then when it comes to your pre op diet in some cases the weight falls off..im sure if they can see you have tried very hard & is close to what they want you to lose they still might go ahead with the surgery?..Im sure it will be positive to lose the weight, i dont think they are going to just say a number & you have to aim for it, they will know what your capable off, good luck, remember small quantities

hi steve im still on my pre op diet & i have lost 21 lbs+..& my family/friends would always say im crazy as i too hated socks/shoes/coats/sweatshirts..i was always a hot person.. Now i am freezing..heating on 24/7..wearing socks & slippers..coats..sweatshirts..even 2 yes 2 big hot water bottles to bed with me..my fingers are like ice all the time, they have never ever been like that before,, so im putting it down to the weightloss, im sure thats all it is?

i too gained 2lbs with my TOM but today im down 2lbs & i feel heavy, so i dont mind..drink plenty..this will pass

hi twiggy, so glad to hear surgery went well for you, i have mine next wednesday & im acting a bit of a wimp..but like you im sure it will be fine for me too.. try & walk to release some of the gas to ease the pressure..well done & keep us posted on your journey

congrats KMC on your banding, im not banded til 21st jan but i got told to do lots of walking to release the gas..if the pain continues call your doc they might prescribe you something? good luck on your journey

hi pvtash, im too getting banded on Jan 21st, im trying to keep busy, my tummy keeps going in knots..lol..im soo ready for this, my surgery is scheduled in the afternoon, but have to be on the ward by 9am, long day it will be & i doubt if hubby will be allowed to stay as its strict visiting times at this hospital, but got told he can be there for when i go down, so ipod & a good book for me

Thank you Steve, you are such an inspiration, i had a few tears today, was only a matter of time, though it didnt help as i was writing a letter for my hubby (just in case)..sounds silly now?..my dogs were looking at me thinking god has this woman gone mad with all these tears flowing down her face..then my hubby came through the front door, i tried to hide them but he just flung his arms around me & wooshh the gates just flung open & floods of tears came from no where..lol.. i keep telling myself the op is only about an hour..im going to be sleeping more than the op takes.. I guess from having the flu really took its toll on me & then cleaning the house for about the 50th time & making sure im all content with things.. hubby sat me down & we had a nice long chat with a coffee (no sugar) yuk..lol.& said its like going to a dentist Debbie, they do this procedure all the time, i think thats why i wake up after each op crying, just cos im so relieved to be alive..and i suppose everyone has the same thoughts?.. So from now on im focusing on the weight i have already lost & what its going to be like through my journey & how happy im going to be to lead a Normal lifestyle once & for all.. You doing anything next wednesday Steve?..lol..joking..im just a whimp.. Im taking my paul o'grady book in with me & im also into astronomy, im building the solar system model, so i can take a few magazines i havnt had chance to read yet, & my ipod Smile, then smile again. There's a whole new life ahead for you with your wonderful family.

I gave them a call & spoke to helen, she was lovely, she said yes she cant see there being a problem & hubby should be ok to stay with me, just got to let them know on the ward on the day i broke down on the phone..lol..silly me..been for a long walk with one of my dogs..just got to keep busy & try & take my mind of the procedure.. bloody silly ive had 7 operations, so its not like i dont know what to expect...

thanks steve... i really hope my husband can be there for when i go down..i coulnt bare the thought of him not here, the hours are from 2-4 then 6-8, so im hoping it will be when visiting time i go down? surely they wont be so cruel & make me go through this alone?, he is my world, he has always been there through my other operations

i put going down in the morning, what i meant to say was going down next wednesday morning

I got the go ahead today, had the ECG done, bloods,temp,listened to my heart & chest, all good (normal)..just waiting for the bloods, but looks good .. going in the morning ward 311..going down for surgery in the afternoon, hubby will be stopping at the travel lodge opposite hospital.. cant wait for it to all be over now.. They are so pleased with my weight loss & i have another week to go.. just got the last bit of the flu lingering, no coughing, which is good news

stay with it girls..we are all doing great, & keep drinking plenty of water/juice..it does help a lot.. i dont think it makes any difference wether your self pay or not, well to me it doesnt, i want to look after my heart/health & i dont need to be spending money to tell me if i should cheat or not on the diet, were all here to get the same help, not to be branded.
