  1. Welcome IcantWeight and fellow Missourian. You'll find everyone here very friendly and helpful. Congratulations PDXBandster and all other newly banded. Wishes for a speedy recovery. Monday blessings for clayverde, PennyLane, g p anderson (and dad) and all others being banded. Everyone have a good evening and do not forget to post to the July Butterflies Master Thread.
  2. July 28 at 9:30 am. Thank you for inquiring and I solicit all prayers for that day.
  3. Good Afternoon Nifty Fifties, I am at 9 days and counting. Monday I start my all liquid pre-op diet. This week I was allowed one regular meal and two meals of protein shakes. My DS and family are coming home tonight from Atlanta where they live. We are all going to Branson for 4 days tomorrow. Of course, I will be the only one not eating :scared2:. But it is all GOOD! My dr. and I are shooting for a 100 lb loss by next yr. I am dreaming big. Everyone seems to be doing so well. I am especially envious of the ones walking on beautiful beaches and enjoying wonderous mountains! Enjoy the weekend and keep taking it one day at a time.
  4. My Gosh...you are so creative! They are all beautiful and I like each one for different reasons. Makes me envious that I ended up not be banded in August. The first one that looks like the flag just blew me away, but like Lanakila I love the beating heart star and since I am girlie the third with the flowers is so pretty. I think you will do well with this bandland thing.
  5. Congraulations Lynn and Lisa. I wish you the best on a speedy recovery. I am counting down my 12 days until surgery. I certainly hope the post-op diet is better than the pre-op in terms of tolerance. I would rather not eat than drink those protein shakes, but I am doing as the dr. ordered and putting up with the consequences. Sending prayers and well wishes for all being banded tomorrow. Vaya con Dios.
  6. I am so happy for you. I know this has been a long process. Now you can start thinking surgery and post-op. Congratulations.
  7. Unless I am rescheduled, I will be having my surgery on July 28, so I will move to the July Butterflies Master Thread. Thank you.
  8. Lisa B, I'm so sorry. My insurance changed July 15th and I know how that feels having to find new providers. Hang in there and let us know what you find out from your insurance co.
  9. You hang in there. I know the frustration and sadness you feel. I am self-pay also and was told this would speed up the process. It did not, I had to jump all the hoops others did and wait my turn. I had to keep reminding myself I am not the only one wanting this surgery like YESTERDAY :] BTW, I love Myrtle Beach and wish I could live there year round.
  10. You bet! I believe in the power of prayer.
  11. Prayers will be going up tonight and tomorrow. I hope you get some sleep but I know how you feel. I'll so be feeling and asking for the same thing.
  12. Help! I am on day 2 of my two week pre-op liquid diet and I am feeling terribly sick to my stomach. I hope I can make it to my surgery date. All this liquid is making me queasy and bloated. I have a lactose intolerance but I am using Lact-Aid and buying lactose-free milk. I am using Gas-X strips also. Did any of you experience this? Any tips on how to get through it? Even just using water does not help. :tongue_smilie:
  13. PennyLane, My liquid includes cream soups so I add Jay Robb Unflavored Whey Protein Isolate to it in a blender after warming the soup. I truly cannot taste the protein isolate, but I do not know about other brands of it. I tried Unjury chicken soup which already has the protein included and like you I gagged and threw it out.
  14. Good Evening Springfield, Kimberly - I will be praying for your mom tomorrow. I hope everything goes as planned and she has a speedy recovery. Kookie - How did your appt. go on the 10th? SpringfieldMO - give us an update on your surgery on the 10th. I hope you are doing fine and recovering nicely. Suziecat - I love your quote. That's exactly how life is. We must learn to "dance in the rain." Hang in there. Things will be better. There is always tomorrow.
  15. Moving to July Butterflies Master Thread
  16. Hi July, I am being banded 28 July. I started having trouble with my weight after the birth of my second child. I was always thin as a child and was even called beanpole, although I am only 5'5". I had reached my full height in my early teen years. I have been married for 35 years to a wonderful supportative spouse and am the mother of two boys and one girl. My eldest son is a Special Agent for the FBI in another state, my middle son works for Boeing after being with IBM for several years as an information specialist, and my daughter lives near me and works for a spa. I worked as a children's social worker for many years, but my mother became very ill a few years ago and I quit to take care of her and my first grandchild. I am now the Nana of four wonderful little boys. I am a cancer survivor of ten years and have several comorbities, the biggest being diabetes which runs on my mother's side of the family. I view this lapband as a tool that is available to me to save my life. I was brought up in the Quad Cities, but I now live in the Ozark Mountains. I am self-pay to the tune of around $18,000, so I am really invested in my band. The dr. is removing my gallbladder at the time of my surgery due to gall stones. They are billing my insurance for that part, so if my insurance denies that part it will cost even more. Yikes! I feel I know all of you personally from reading this thread. I have never posted before until I started this lapband journey so I do not know yet if I am a poster or a lurker, but I love this thread. I just happened to come across ittoday from a post left by our PennyLane. Thank you for starting this master thread for all the July Butterflies. All who have had your surgeries, I hope you are doing well today. Those of us still waiting, hang in there. Our time is soon approaching. Dianne
  17. Joann, Dr. Christopher Edwards is doing my surgery in Springfield, Mo, at St. John's Hospital. He is removing my gallbladder at the same time as I have gall stones. Yes, Bennett Springs is beautiful. The Water is sooooo cold. We have a 5th wheel camper and stayed there Tues. through Saturday of last week. Since we only live about 20 minutes away, my DH drove to work during the day and my two GS had fun riding bikes and swimming. I hope your pre-ops go quickly. I thought mine went too slow as I was so excited to embark on a new life. Now that it is almost here, I am becoming very anxious!

Thank you for letting me join the July Butterflies. :biggrin2:
  20. Please put me on the July list. My band date is July 28. I am so excited, I am now officially a July Butterfly.
  21. Yea!!!!!!!!!! My surgery has been scheduled. I start my pre-op liquid diet on the 14th and surgery on Monday, July 28. I cannot believe it is finally so close.
  22. Congratulations all who are now banded. I hope you are doing well. Please keep posting and let us know how it went and how you are feeling. To those of us still waiting, our time is coming quickly!
  23. I love this thread. Everyone is so kind to reply and make you feel welcome. This is the first place I come when on my computer. Thank you all.
  24. I love your banner! You are very talented and your signature is neat too. I find out my surgery date Thursday. It will be the last of July or the first part of August. I have subscribed to this thread in case it is the latter. MomTo5, an end date of Aug 1 may be too long. The July Butterflies were using their banner at the end of June and sending well wishes to all who had subscribed on the date of their surgery in July using their banner. Maybe an end date of July 23 and a banner up by the 25th? P.S. I really like August Slimmers and the banner.
  25. Kookie, I see Dr. Edwards on the 10th also. It is my last pre-op visit where he gives me my surgery date and I have to do preadmission at St. Johns. I am really excited. I am so glad everything went well for you. Those 69 lbs. will be gone in no time. Keep up the good work. Kimberly, congratulations on your mother's surgery date. Does she go online also? You have really made your band work for you. Your weight loss is spectacular.
