  1. Hi, I'm sorry it is going so slow for you. I have sent you a message with some info. It would be wonderful if they would start a support group in Lebanon. Any more from Lebanon here?
  2. Hi everyone, Woo Hoo, I went to the seminar last night and Dr. Edwards is awesome. He is funny and very compassionate. What a combination. I turned in my paperwork and Mary called this morning. I have a date for my 1st consult and psych eval. This wonderful, amazing journey has finally started. WOO HOO!
  3. Denise, I know this seems overwhelming right now. I lost my mother 18 months ago and she had a LOT of things. It is never easy. My father is on his own and his memory is not as sharp as it use to be. He is grieving and also need help. Lots of the time I think am sad and think, "He is suppose to be my father and take care of me. How and when did this get all turned around?" Time passes really fast now. I would suggest, just like in our weight losses quest, we take it in little baby steps. Just focus on one task at a time. When it is completed, go to the next. Don't try to look at the huge big picture right now. You already now what that pictures looks like and it will overwhelm you. Work on the little goals. What needs to be done will, and the rest will fall into place. God Bless, you are in my prayers.
  4. Hi everyone, We just had high winds in Lebanon. We were very lucky. I am so excited, I have my first seminar with Dr. Edwards' group tomorrow night. I have my packet completed and am ready to go with it. I am heading west on I-44 tomorrow and starting the journey to change my life! I had a really nice day today. My children called and my DH took me, my Dad and his friend, Clo, out to lunch after church. The sun came out and it was a beautifuf afternoon. My mother passed away 18 months ago and I visited her memorial with flowers. I know this is the path she would wish me to pursue as she was so worried about my health issue and my weight even when she was very ill. I wish this option had been open for her. She died way too young at the age of 71 yrs. due to obesity, CHF, diabetes, renal failure and stroke. Bless her heart she is not in pain anymore.

Hi, does the $12,500 also include any fills? I go to an informational seminar on Monday in Springfield, MO. I am self-pay and I believe it is more expensive in Springfield, but it does include fills for a year. I hope to be banded sometime this year. I have been doing a lot of research, but because of the fills I want something close to where I live. Columbia is a possibility.
  6. I bought a Siggs water bottle online from Amazon.com. They have different sizes, colors, etc. I fill it from my filtered water from the frig. It's cold, fits in my purse and car cupholder. You can add flavored, tea, juice, milk, etc. The designs are nice and I liked it so well I bought one for each of my 3 grandsons. Milk for the baby, choc milk for the 4 yr old and apple juice for the 7 yr old. I believe I'm off to bed...I'd had to do more corrections than actual typing to this litte ditty. The sleeping pill is working its fine magic and making me seem totally illiterate. ENOUGH for tonight Off to her bed. More coherent days are coming. Everyone have a nice evening.

I have sleep apnea also. I am suppose to have my CPAP setting at 8, but due to air had it lowered to 6. I have tried many different masks since my sleep study but yet have one to find that is comfortable and does not give me panic attacks due to feelings of claustraphobia. I am very interested in your Herbst dental device. Continue to post on how it is working.

  9. Thank you. My seminar is Monday the 12th.
  10. Hi to all, Okay, I know my 1st meeting is Monday and will most likely get the answers then, but I have a few more questions my DH keeps asking me, especially about costs. I am self-pay and DH wants to know if any of the fills are included in Dr. Edward's basic price? I am looking more at the risk of surgery and he is checking the financial. I am sure we will come together once we have all the research done. I have researched clinics in Mexico, St. Louis, Kansas City, and Sedalia. The dr. in Sedalia will only do RNY and has discontinued doing Lap Band. He states it is because of long term weight results. Still, I feel from reading this forum that Lap Band is less invasive with a much quicker recovery time. It is true you have to follow up with fills and their cost, but do you not have to continue to have lab work, B-12 shots, etc. with RNY? Does the cost not even out and leave the Lap Band less risky? Any answers or thoughts?
  11. Best of luck Rosesarered! I wish I were that close.
  12. Hello all, Thanks so much for the ticker education. It worked and I now have a ticker! Everyone have a wonderful Sunday.
  13. I cannot even get the ticker band to this site. I want one, but do not know how to or where to cut and paste it. Any help for this computer illiterate oldster? P.S. My middle son worked for the last 5 yrs. for IBM as a programmer. LOL Too embarrassed to ask him.
  14. Hi everyone, I am new and have only posted a couple times. I am still waiting to go to my first meeting on the 12th, but have made of my mind this is what I need if the dr. will agree. I have two questions if anyone can help answer since I have not been able to talk to the dr. yet. I am lactose intolerant. I can do yogurt and cheese, but no milk, ice cream, puddings, gravy, etc. Will this be a problem with nutritional needs? Also, besides being a diabetic, I had a colon resection in 1999 due to colon cancer of the sigmoid colon. Will this affect the WLS? Thanks for letting me barge into this group. Dianne in MO
  15. Kookie, Congrats! I hope all goes as fast for me on the 12th.
  16. Thank you for your response to my earlier question. I am finding it hard to wait for things to start happening. Now that I have finally decided to have it done, it want it NOW. I was so scared before because of my age and medical conditions, that I would not survive surgery. I now know that most of my conditions will vastly improve and perhaps go away by losing weight with the help of the lap band. So I am very motivated, but the waiting is hard and I am afraid of gaining even more while I wait for the appts, psy eval, etc. Did all you have the same feelings? :rolleyes2: Thanks, BeverlyDiane
  17. Hi, I am scheduled 05-12-08 for my first meeting. I am considering the Lap Band. It concerns me in reading your thread that you still feel hunger. I am an emotional eater and eat even when I do not feel hunger. I will be self-pay so I do not want to regret spending my retirement money, on the other hand, if I do not do something I will not be alive to enjoy retirement. Do you think the Lap Band is for me, or should I consider something else?:crying:
  18. Hi, I have my first informational meeting on 5-12-08 for Dr. Edwards. I am so excited. I am an hour away from Springfield, MO. I will be self-pay. What would cause you not to be able to have the surgery? Dianne
