Fortunately being somewhat taller, I can hang onto the closet door frame at the top. It's amazing how much weight that can shave off On a side note, my diet modification is driving me close to insane. Because I wasn't getting enough protein I decided to punish myself still further. Here's my current Menu: Breakfast: Can of tuna. Lunch Can of tuna. Dinner Healthy choice meal. Supper Periodically been having a Banana and Milk. Smart sugar right before bed (skipping this tonight). I'm going to die of mercury poisoning but not obesity damnit! Yes, I am taking vitamins too. This should mean I'll have eaten 172 pounds of tuna by the end of the year. Fabulous.

I've been surprisingly happy with that scale. I think my favorite thing is it's consistancy. The old scale we had you could stand on it five times and get five severely different readings. This one is rarely variable between weigh ins (no matter how light I try and stand!). P'Dawg.

I've been the odd one out my entire life. To the extent that I convinced myself it was by choice. I now realize that I have some issues relating to people and rather than try, it's easier to shut myself away. I have to this date only found one person who I can relate to and I went ahead and married her. I'm trying to work through some of those issues and face a few internal demons that I have to overcome. I've found that my feeling like the "odd" one comes mostly from within myself. I often thought it was perhaps weight related but now I have lost most of my excess weight, I have had to face the problem I have lies inside me. Good luck

I actually know many folks down in Aus. They have for the most part been extremely friendly (almost obnoxiously friendly!) and actually - a bit more liberal than my horribly conservative tastes can cope with. I have every belief that the Australians are far more open to various cultures than the US. I also know it's a beautiful country. They also have been known to throw Yabbi's on the Barbie along with a few snags. I respect that in anyone. Even if their beer is a bit thin.

That is also very true. Of course there is a caveat. Pretty sure they had the commandments directly before the Isrealites went Hack n' Slashing across the Middle East. And then of course David... sorta killed a few people with God's OK. Also, there was the Husband and Wife in the new testament who claimed to give all the tithe they could but lied... and things didn't go so well for them. God is good. No doubt about it. We're just not good enough for God.

All I can say is, I'm glad I wasn't the one due a smack.

Agree 100% Sorry, the flood... He killed everyone accept 6. That's pretty much willing to kill His children. Agree 100% We 'should' be able to turn the other cheek. BUt of course if we always could do that, and could have lived in peace and harmony - Jesus wouldn't have been such a necessity. It's because we are crappy humans that we NEED Jesus. The important thing is that we TRY and be better

Agree 98.9%. The exact location of the Garden is of course a bit of a questionmark. But it's in that general area, somewhere.

I wonder if its that at all with regards to the recent acts of terrorism. If that was the case the Shi'a and Sunni wouldn't do it to each other. I think it's more of a fundamental hatred of a group who has a different theology or opinion. There is also some territorial aspects which can't be ignored. There is plenty in most books of faith that can be adopted for use by people who have the desire for murder and hatred. That is 100% correct. I also believe that the Qur'an even specifically mentions that they share the same God as the Isrealites. The difficulty comes in when you then ask the person who is Jewish whether their God sanctioned Jesus or Muhammed. They would likely say no. So, at which point I'd say there is a divergance. If I believe in the Trinity, I clearly am not following the same belief in God as either the Jewish or Muslim faiths. I claim that my God is also the God of Abraham and Isaac as stated earlier. An orthodox Jew might say I'm a crackhead for having such a preposterous belief. Viewpoint is everything. If I say my God is the God of the Jews, the Jews would be within their rights to say "no your God isn't, we don't believe in this Trinity thing".

I can not tell you how many times I had to re-read "Penni-ness" before my brain stopped seeing an entirely different and totally inappropriate word. Someone needs a smack, and it might be me. Hmm, normal is such a wonderfully broad term isn't it? I could definately be considered a "normal" member of LBT, depending on who sets the standards. Besides, I've decided the Center for Disease Control are just a bunch of do-gooders. Besides, I just want to see the "normal" BMI for a week or two, just so I can prove I can get there I am already 2/3 of the man I used to be

I will defer on the how to cope with it to the bandsters proper. Good luck tomorrow and try and relax as much as you can. I was a nervous wreck for my wife when she had it done but it will pass.

Attempts some one upmanship. If your sphincter prolapses, should you seek medical assistanct?

With regards to God and killing. Actually we have to remember that the Christian God (He's mine too) is also the God of Isaac and Abraham. He's the God of David. Killing was far from unknown to the Isrealites and was actually guided to do so by God (yes this is principally Old Testament but, that doesn't nullify it). He also personally took care of the great flood and Soddam and Gomorrah. So, to be fair, My God has been known to cause a few fatalities, over the years. Now, with regards to the Law. The Law of the Land is what people need to live by, and Religious Law takes a back burner. I think the heart of the matter is that people who's values don't mesh well with the Law of the Land, would be better served to seek a land where their beliefs are better acommodated. It wasn't so long ago that the UK instigated a "Zero Tolerance" policy for non citizen clerics of the Muslim faith that advocated terrorism. If I come round to your house and set fire to your couch, I wouldn't be surprised if you asked me to leave.

If you don't want to be offended then DO NOT open this thread. You have been warned!

I think the moderators are supposed to be moderate. That means allowing both sides to speak their part. They also have stamped on people acting unacceptably. The most recent situation of that was seen today. The fact that moderators are needed to act like a UN peace keeping force is a shame. They are also quite able to decide who is crying wolf, and who is seriously crying for help. Public slaps are only moderately effective. If a person is determined not to listen to reason, is the fact that a moderator speaks to them going to change anything? You can either sit back and try and keep people calm, or you can wield a big stick. On boards with Moderators that believe in the latter - you will find very few users.
