    So much insomnia

I'm just super cranky because I am extremely tired but can't sleep. I'm normally a stomach sleeper. So between not being able to sleep on my stomach, dealing with pain from my incisions and drain every time I move, and this heartburn I feel like I'm never going to go bed. I had found that I had been using my pain killers to help me sleep even when not in unbearable pain so I decided to flush the rest down the toilet. I'd rather suffer through any future pain (1 week post op so I'm thinking the worst of it is over?) than deal with possible addictions or problems that can stem from that habit. Any idea when this insomnia will go away? Work is going to be a killer if this is still going on by next week. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Hiya! Is the rescue sleep safe to take post surgery? Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  6. Had catheter for my surgery. They put it in while I was asleep. Woke up with it and had it for about a day. It didnt hurt while in, it was just weird. When the nurse took it out it didnt hurt at all and I experienced zero burning afterwards. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    So much insomnia

Thank you guys! I'll have to check out the Melatonin. Ugh, wish I had a recliner! I've been laying on the couch lately. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  9. A lot of people on here will tell you not to buy anything for post-op. I also live alone and knew I would be mostly taking care of myself so I did buy things beforehand. Honestly, I am glad I did because I'm not supposed to drive for this entire week after surgery. Although, I could have had friends pick things up for me afterwards I'm glad I haven't had to harass them with having them take me to the store. Plus I probably wouldn't have wanted to go food shopping this week. Things I bought include; broth, protein shakes, pudding, yogurt, and fairlife milk. I also bought quite a few things through this website. I highly reccomend the protein hot chocolate. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

If you didn't throw it up, experience pain after swallowing, or get diarrhea from it than I think you're fine and didn't "mess" up. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

He keeps it for a week from your release date. So I was released from the hospital last Thursday and we have the drain removed this Thursday. I'll have had it a total of 10 days by then. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Drain Tube Woes

Ugh. Cant wait to get mine out this Thursday! It's hard to feel "normal" when you have a tube sticking out of your gut. Sorta worried about the pain of getting my removed but honestly it's annoying me so much I dont even care. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    October 2018 Sleevers

I haven't gone back to work yet (still have this dang drain in) and I feel like I have no energy. I'm thinking it may be a combination of the lack of calories and just from being stuck inside with little human contact. Even before surgery, I tended to deplete fast when I have no social interactions. I went on walk earlier and a loop around town that I used to do easily felt like a 8 mile hike today. 17. A lot of people may disagree but I seem to be in the same boat as you, it amazes me at how many people's SOs on here are totally unsupportive of their partner's wls/decision to lead a healthier life. Makes me relieved that I live alone and reminds me what I do and do not want to look for in a future partner. I remember reading a bit ago that we share over 80 percent of our meals with our future partner so you better make sure you choose the right one who is on the same page as you. I've been in that boat before, having a partner that eats **** food/makes poor food choices while you're trying to be healthy is major strain on the relationship and probably a lot of people's downfall when it comes to weight loss. Yes, I have been eating soup since day 4 post op. Strained and watered down. I can only take a few bites before I'm full but I haven't had any problems with it going down. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

For me, it has always been pretty instant. They tell you to count backwards and you're like 10.... then the next thing you know you're in the recovery room waking up and it feels like no time has passed at all. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  21. Exactly what the title says... I've researched this surgery up and down. I know it is the right choice for me. I am not concerned about the strict diet afterwards (I have lost over 100 pounds in the past through diet and exercise). I'm just having this really irrational fear of the recovery pain. I just want to know what to expect but of course everyone has a different experience. Especially with a lot of people posting "I have really high pain tolerance but..." lol. I don't even know what kind of pain tolerance I have. Sorry for this whiney fear-induced post. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  22. Lol. I made it through and all went well! My anxiety over the surgery was far worse than anything I have experienced so far (*knock on wood*). Now it's time to be anxious about other things.
  23. I was just approved to take my PPI twice a day. Did you find that it helped if you took one in the morning and one in the evening or did you take them both at once?
  24. 5 days post op and I have never had BO like I have now. I'll have to invest in this shower brush you guys mentioned. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app
