@CrankyMagpie, I actually just now measured (I usually measure once a month), and it looks like I WAS losing inches - that makes me feel better.
How have you been doing? Have you stalled at all?

CrankyMagpie got a reaction from Orchids&Dragons in I'm struggling a little. My younger sister wants to go out to a buffet for Thanksgivi
Losing a pet is terrible, and it's OK to be sad. ❤️
Taking care of yourself is also OK--better than OK!--and if you're offering to cook, that means your sister doesn't have to cook or stress, which is kind of what she was after, anyway? So you don't need to feel bad about this.
I can definitely imagine going to a buffet again, even though I don't eat much, but we're talking, like $10 Indian lunch buffet, not $65 (holy crap) Thanksgiving buffet! And I'll probably always favor non-buffets, since not eating part of my meal immediately just means I get to enjoy it later on (or my spouse does). It feels like less pressure, or something.
Anyway, I'm babbling. I think you're doing the right thing, here. I hope your sister is cool about it.

Glad that you are losing again...stalls are just crazy huh?? but from what I've noticed just in the 9 weeks that's it's been for me since surgery is that I will stall long like you then drop a good amount of weight for about a week then back to a stall LOL. I'm just going with the flow and not letting it stress me because I'm doing my part and sticking to the plan.
We are GOING to get to goal!!

Yeah, we love that non-linear weight loss when we have a 4-pound week. Not so much with a 1/2-pound week. I only weigh twice a week (and only write it down on Saturday) in an attempt to keep the insecurity monster at bay 😉

Don't talk yourself into a stall. They're common, but not everyone has them early on. I honestly haven't had one yet. I've only had 3 "up" weeks in almost 8 months and none of them was from a stall. (One was from vacation, two were recovering from losing 13 lbs in 10 days because I was prescribed too much diuretic and ended up dehydrated in the er ☹️) You're unique, just let it go.
It is early for you to recognize a "full" signal. Pretty much all the foods you're eating right now are sliders that just pass through your pouch. Other than the refried beans, most of them won't stay long enough to trigger a "fullness" feeling. Don't worry, it will come. You're doing great!

I'm sorry to hear how badly you were treated in the hospital - I was so lucky, the hospital I was at was obviously trying hard to provide amazing service.
How are you able to get that much protein during clear liquids?! Are you able to drink protein drinks already? Are you just drinking a lot of broth? I have just been drinking water and diet clear juice and trying to choke down a little broth. Tell me all your secrets!
I am glad to hear that you are doing so well, hope that walk is refreshing!
