Losing while eating???
Malcy replied to FatBlocker's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am glad you posted this question. I am 1 month post op and am in a stall also. I'm feeling a little anxious about moving into soft foods. -
Very cute! I really like it
-
Congrats to you. Take it slow, slow small sips and you will get the fluids down. Like @NewBodySoon says get your walking in and make sure to rest. You got this!

Hi everyone. I am about 2 weeks post op and my incisions are just about healed. My incisions are small but visible and I am thinking about treating the scars. Has anyone found anything that they like or that works really well?

Anxiety About Getting Rid of Clothes
Malcy replied to brightfaith's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
You all inspire me with your stories. I cannot WAIT until I lose so much weight that I need to buy smaller clothes!! -
Hi everyone, I was sleeved on 8/2 and have been walking about a mile every day. Last week I joined a gym. I did Zumba twice last week and three times this week. Until now, I have had almost no desire to eat but yesterday I started to think I was a little hungry which is starting to scare me. I read that sleevers drop a lot of their weight in the first couple months so i was trying to maximize that but dont want to go too far. I wanted to ask your opinions on whether you think I am exercising too soon? Or maybe too much? When did you all start? And what did you start out doing?

You guys are the best!

You look great!

Same here. The only thing that has made me sick is vitamins, otherwise haven't had much trouble with food. I am coming up on my 1 month (9/2) and keep watching the scale. I'm feeling like I'm not losing fast enough, or enough. Im moving on to soft foods and quite nervous about it. I know it's not healthy and hoping I stop obsessing over the scale soon.

Protein shakes for picky protein drinkers
Malcy replied to branlee90's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I really like Muscle Milk Pro Series " Knockout Chocolate" and Premier Protein Chocolate -
Thank you! Your suggestion is right in line with the others. It sounds like I definitely need to increase the protein a little bit. I am still on a PPI for another couple weeks. I haven't been drinking too much during class because I was feeling like I was going to lose my cookies but I might slow down and take an extra few sips during class.

My NUT cleared me for Zumba but no lifting. It sounds like I might need to add that extra ounce and I am working on increasing my water as well. I want to push myself but also want to be sensible. That's why I wanted to ask the community for feedback. I don't want to use anything as a excuse to slow down if the feelings are normal.

I am working on increasing my water intake. Its still difficult because I am very thirsty but still have to take small sips. My NUT told me Zumba was ok, but I will follow up and ask if I need to increase protein. Other than the extra ounce, did you notice a change in your appetite?

1st Stall - GRATITUDE POST!
Malcy replied to Naughty Glitter Goddess's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I echo your sentiments of gratefulness for this forum. I am 4 weeks post op and hit a stall despite exercising and following the diet exactly. I could see the day where a stall would have caused me to freak out but thanks to all the information shared by the great people here, I just shrugged it off. So thankful for this community -
Let us know how it goes! Wishing you all the best

I get between 600-800 per day, but I am still reliant on shakes for my protein because I cant eat that much.
-
How did it go? How are u feeling?

Congratulations to you on pursuing your dream of becoming a lawyer. Just as you are strong enough to juggle going back to school and raising a family, I know you have what it takes to get that weight off. You got this!

My husband is moving on to phase 2 any suggestions
Malcy replied to mystars.0110's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My phase 2 was full liquids as well. Lots of protein shakes, strained soups, a little yogurt and SF Popsicles. -
Anyone eat omelets?
Malcy replied to likehasjustbegun's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was not able to tolerate scrambled eggs for some reason but I was able to eat a 1 egg omelet with a little cheese. It was great. -
It will get better. I was in agony right after surgery but every day after got better.

My surgery experience was not much different than those mentioned above. The only thing that I wasn’t prepared for was waking up in PAIN- big time pain! I didn’t get comfortable until I left recovery and got settled into my room where I started walking and got some good pain meds. (I am convinced that the initial post op nurse wasn’t giving me the good stuff). The day after surgery I had some nausea but it was easily controlled with medication. I was discharged after 2 days and the pain and nausea were completely gone. I was weak and really tired for the first few days, but every day I felt better and got stronger.

Thank you thank you thank you for creating this space! This community has meant more to me than I can say. -
I started out with multivitamin, B12 and Biotin vitamin melts. I tried them out for a few days before surgery and did just fine with them. About a week after surgery, the multis stared making me sick. The Biotin and B12 are not giving me any problem. I switched to the soft chews and haven't had much luck with those either. I'm going to try a different brand in the melts and see how it goes.
