Suzi D replied to StrawartS's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I would love to participate! Rice University or Galleria areas are best for me! I am willing to help in any way I can. Just let me know. Thanks. Suzi D. -
Hello all! I guess I must be having a brain fart or something. I figured out how to attach a picture as an attachment, but can't figure out how to post them directly into the body of the e-mail. I've tried right clicking on the image, clicking on copy, but then when I go back to the body of the e-mail it will not allow me to paste it there. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Cool! Is this an open invite? Even for newbies? Sounds like a lot of fun. If so, where & when in August?

Here are a few of my tats. I had eight total, but one was a cover-up. Not as awesome as Kathy473, but most of mine were during my partying days. LOL! Will post others when I can get someone to take a pic of my back.

Reference the sharp shoulder pain... I get it too. Really badly. I called my doctors office today and they said it was either from eating too fast, or eating too much. I told her I hadn't eaten very much, so that meant it was the type of food I ate. As I understand, some food passes much easier through the band than others. I had eaten something that couldn't pass through my band quickly enough. Therefore, since the food had no where else to go it stayed in my esophogus hence causing the pain. I tell you what, thats a quick lesson I learned to learn to slow down & cut back. I told the nurse I still felt hungry and she said to try something like yougurt or applesauce and that I should feel full in about 15 - 20 minutes. Guess what? She was right!

These were my post-op scars. I can't wait to put up an after pic. with far less flab! I guess that's what were all here for though. Good luck to everyone!

I have the same problem frequently too. I've realized I must not be chewing my food well enough, or ate something I really shouldn't be eating. I've found that slowly sipping Water helped me too. Now I just have to have to get the will-power to stay away from the foods that cause that pain. I must say the 1st time it happen I was scared to death that I was having a heart attack! Thank goodness it is something we can control by what we eat. Good luck to all of you. suzi

Wow... I din't know the biggest loser show would even allow people that had weight loss surgery to participate. That's really cool. I had printed out the paperwork before my surgery and thought about signing up for the show but thought I would be ineligible after the surgery. Good to know! Suzi

Have the types of food you crave changed?
Suzi D replied to Parvathi's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Jess, Unfortunately I have not been that lucky yet. I still crave most of the bad foods I've been addicted to for years. The only difference is that now my body tells me with very uncomfortable pains in my chest when I eat some thing I shouldn't. I'm calling my Dr. for my 2nd fill this week because I still feel like I am always hungry.:help: Suzi -
Hi guys! I'm a new bandster as well. I was banded on 11/21/05 and wasn't able to get my first fill until 1/12/05. I have a really silly question for anyone willing to answer. What is PB? I have the chest pain symptoms that many speak of, but am not sure what the term stands for. Thanks! Suzi Banded by Dr. Hadar Spivak Houston, TX

Thanks, that is so sweet. Now that makes sense! I've had plenty of PB's and boy they feel great. When do you get banded? Good luck to you too! Suzi

hello all. Just a heads up, I wouldn't waste your money on the hoodia. I researched it and purchased the brand that was guaranteed to be authentic. My friend and I both tried it and it didn't curb either of our appetites. Maybe you'll have better luck though. Suzi
