Barbara- You definately should consider trying to make the Texas Fiesta bash since you're not able to make the Houston get together on May 27th. We would absolutely love to have you there! Any suggestions on a summer date that will work for you? Hope to see you there! :wave:

Well, it definately looks like Galveston and Kemah are leading contenders thus far. They both are a lot of fun and are great places I think the out-of-towners and the locals will really enjoy! I'm hoping to get more responses soon so we can start planning accordingly. I'm absolutely excited about meeting some of my LBT sisters and brothers! :Banane56:

How many people are there confirmed so far for the Sangria Suarez? Just curious. Lis- Live anywhere near a casino? :rockon: I absolutely must go to the casino... even if it's for a little while. Did I mention I got married in Vegas? LOVE Vegas and now love it even more because Lis is there! :becky: I'm saving already for my plane ticket. I'm counting the days and jumping with joy ! Can't wait to see and meet you all.

Barbara- I'm so glad you want to come!! It'll be a lot of fun. I love the Galveston idea. I guess we'll have to see how many people are interested and how much it will cost. The reason I suggested summer is I thought it might be easier for people with kids to be able to take the time off for a vacation then. I'm definately open to suggestions though. Help me round up the troops! :)

If enough people are interested in a "Texas Fiesta" bash & Slumber Party, I will negotiate a discounted rate with a nearby hotel for a block of rooms for out-of-town travelers.

StrawartS- Look at the last page of the Sangria Suarez thread. I'm trying to plan another get together in Houston sometime in the summer including a Slumber Party. Check it out and let me know what you think. Thanks!

This is actually something different than the bash on May 27th. I guess it could be combined if that is what everyone wanted. It's just that the Slumber Party portion of it is only for women 18 & over. If we already have men coming to the event on the 27th we'd have to rearrange things so that the SP would be only women. I was concerned that would cause too many complications with all of the planning Mary has already done. I want this to be a nation wide event for anyone and everyone who would wish to participate and make it like a mini summer vacation. I was hoping bandsters would like to make it a trip with their significant others and my hubby could entertain the men while the gals had the SP. The rest of the weekend would include everyone. Please let me know if this works or if you'll still want to incorporate it into the event already in place on May 27th. I'm open to suggestions. Thanks!! :noidea:

I was just curious if anyone has encountered a problem with their port tilting and moving out of place. Mine has tilted and so far the Dr. has still been able to do a fill successfully. I'm concerned that this may become a problem in the future and am a bit scared it may require an additional operation. Has anyone experienced anything like this and if so, what was the outcome?

Hello Ladies and Gents! I have another exciting idea along the same line as DeLarla's Sangria Suarez in Vegas. I am considering having a "Texas Fiesta" bash and Slumber Party for those who would like to visit the Houston, TX area. I'm thinking about sometime this summer, but I wanted input from all of you to see if there was any interest in a Texas bash and what date(s) would be good for all of you'll. I also thought we could make a weekend of it like DeLarla's. Maybe have the Slumber Party on a Friday night (only ladies 18+ , sorry guys) then on Saturday we could all take a mini road trip or just party at my hacienda at get to know one another better. My home is not too far from Galveston Island, so the beach &/or Moody Gardens could be one option. We also have other fun things nearby like NASA space center, Old Town Spring (antiques, collectibles and other shopping), Raceway Park in Baytown (drag races, etc.), horseback riding and much much more. Let me know if this is of any interest to any of you and I'll be glad to start making the preparations for a Super Fun "Texas Fiesta" bash.

Vines - That looks pretty new. Is it your first? It's addicting isn't it? I would love another but my husband says I already have too many for his tastes. I may however, get one last one at the nape of my back when I reach my goal weight. I would like to get my dog's face or something other near and dear to my heart.

Congratulations!! I too am trying to get pregnant. I'm already 38 so the clock is ticking. Dr. Spivak gave me the okay to get prego once I've lost 50 lbs. I'm not quite there yet, but it's not too far away. I would love to follow your pregnancy and see how you do with the band. Please keep me posted. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I'm curious to know what you mean by never was the same again. Do you have problems regularly. Did you consume a lot of carbonated drinks or anything at all that may have possibly led to the erosion? I worry about erosion a lot myself.

My pre-op starting weight was 269. The absolute largest I've ever been. I am only 5'1" so this was HUGE for me. I was a size 28 pushing 30 when I started. Now I fit comfortably into a size 24. My first goal is to get down to a size 12. My next and hopefully final size will be a 7/8. I used to be a size 7 and weighed 113 my senior year in high school, but that was over 20 years ago!! Boy, you have to love the years and what they do to our waistlines and not to mention our butts.... LOL

I just realized the dates on this silly thing are all messed up. No wonder I have problems following the threads and figuring out who posted what when... Anyway, I am also very hyped about the Vegas trip. I'm partial to Vegas since I was married there almost 2 1/2 years ago. Did I mention my step-son lives there too? Not to mention I am absolutely brimming with excitement to meet Lisa finally in person. She is not only my lap band friend but my Slumber Mom as well and a great one at that. I know this will be a weekend to remember!

Lis- Guess you've been busy lately and haven't been to this thread. You did realize this bash is just 5 days after Slumber training in Dallas? Will you be there? I guess I can just keep my bags packed and ready to go. LOL. Confirmed the trip for sure with Sam. Count me in!!!

Awesome! I'm glad to hear this is nothing too major to worry about. I noticed just today that my port seems to be lying a little flatter (not quite, but it's getting there). Also, Dr. Spivak did say it should get better as I lose more weight. So far I'm down from a size 28 to 24. I'll be so happy to see size 12 again, then 9 and so on. Baby steps. I'm just trying to make small goals each time and progressing from there. Thanks for all of your support!

Sunflower - Wow... I feel really badly for you. Please talk to your Dr. ASAP. There has to be something he/she can do for you. Maybe the band they used on you is too large for your stomach? I know they come in several sizes. It couldn't hurt to talk to your Dr. Best of luck to you and keep the faith!

Okay... I've already informed Sam that I really, really want and need to come even though he can't make it because his school year will have started by then. Ask Chris to save room for me on the back of his Harley if the seat hasn't already been spoken for. Also sign me up for the belly dancing lesson. I'm game for it all and I KNOW it will be a blast! I've already started saving so One Way or Another I WILL make it there. Yippee!!!

Hi Dani! I thought I had the same problem before when I was in a lot of pain. My Dr;'s office assures me that I would know if I had slippage. They said you can't even swallow your saliva if you've had slippage. So far I've been lucky. I hope you are too!
