Bob R got a reaction from KarenLR75 in How long is the RNY surgery, typically?
I was told by my surgeon to expect a 4 hr surgery because its a revision and it takes a long time to separate the stomach from the liver.

Bob R reacted to GreenTealael in Bypass v’s Sleeve..... help!
Choose RNY bypass if you want the GOLD standard of WLS w/ malabsorption which tends to be faster but some say the feeling of hunger *may* not be diminished nor have a great deal of restriction (compared to sleeve)
Choose VSG sleeve if you want steady weightloss with the *possibility* of greatly reduced hunger and strong initial restriction sensation w/ no malabsorption but some develop GERD in the future

Bob R got a reaction from Frustr8 in Anyone have their gallbladder removed after their surgery?
You can possibly lose your gall bladder anytime you lose a large amount of weight in a short period of time.
I lost mine years ago after I lost 80 lbs on the Atkins diet and xrays revealed I had 10 gall stones so it had to go.

Bob R got a reaction from Frustr8 in endoscopy
Has anybody had a endoscopy that they can share how the experience went? I am having this procedure done in a couple of weeks and I need to be up and ready to leave in about an hour after the procedure is done to get to another appointment within the hospital. Thanks........Bob
