  1. Hello BP pals my surgery date was 09-07/18 HW: 208; SW: 199.9; CW: 159; GW: was 136lbs but subject to change due to how I carry my weight I look thin now so maybe GW: will be 145lbs. Here are my progress pictures but still losing. The collage pics were from beginning to like the 3rd month and the single picture is two days old.
  2. Thanks that makes me feel good about my decision to only go down to 145lbs because the way I carry my weight I’ll probably look a 130lbs. I’ve also lost 32-inches all over in this 5 months.

Couping With Tight Days Pouch Days...

Kbrigde , I had RNY 9/7/18 and four four weeks I suffered terrible issues with just a cap of water and so I called my doctor and by this time I was in tears because I mean a simple sip of water caused me terrible PAIN so they took me off of Pecid and put me on Omeperzol and I mean within minutes, I mean minutes of taking it 20-30 minutes I could sip water and eat without all that pain. I’m only taking it for 2 months but by then the doctor said my stomach should be ok. Maybe you can talk with your doctor about this, if they don’t think it’s anything else.
  4. So I’m 6-days post gastric bypass and wanted to know if everyone that has gotten the gastric bypass have had to get gallbladder removed yes or no.
  5. So today was my final appt. before my surgery September 7th, doctor went over labs with me and advised me my Hemoglobin is low and advised me to take 325mg's of Iron daily but all else is ok with lab, so we're ready to go on that note, but he also advised me about my past GERD's issue and stated he think I would benefit from having the Gastric Bypass instead of the sleeve since I have been having on and off issue with Acid Reflux and he said that if I currently have an issue with it and get sleeved it could get worse so he'd would be willing to do the Gastric Bypass on me that way I can avoid having to get a revision later, but mostly likely that would be the outcome if I'm sleeved, I really appreciate him telling me this because I don't want to have to repay for a revision I'd rather bypass all that if its going to be better for me in the long run. But nonetheless, I'm super excited and ready to get to Losing this weight and gain a healthy life style as I'm aware its just a tool but, I'm ready and I don't mind doing the work because I'm so sick of being sick and tired of being overweight. I've been thinking and going over in my head how this is a once in a lifetime thing and I tell myself GIRL you better get it right, and myself agree's LOL!

Hello everyone, so I made it to the loser's bench on 09/07/18 had a two night hospital stay and came home yesterday, Overall I feel ok other them this nagging lower right side back/waist pain is this normal for Bypass patients? P.S. I just started passing the flatulence pretty good today and still have a ways to go I think but thankful to be passing it because that really hurts.

    Back Pain

Oh thank you so much for you response I wasn't sure what this was I was getting ready to call the doctor's office but if its normal I will wait it out as I said its not unbearable, nothing that simple tylenol doesn't take care of for me.

    On the losers bench!

Bypass surgery was yesterday the 7th all went well just a little issue with urinating but, the doctor says it’s common but, it will get better, minimal pain no pain pump just a pill of Tordal if in pain. Overall it’s going well.

  14. Wow the nerve. All I can do is shake my head, self LOVE is better then any LOVE you can get from another human being. Think about that. Sorry to hear about your husband but, doing what's best for me. (YOU)
  15. Have you thought maybe it has nothing to do with your bypass.
  16. My husband had gastric bypass 23 years ago at 450lbs way before we met and he lost half his weight at 5”11 and never gained it back so I do think it’s effective, I was up for a sleeve but after my testing my doctor said due to the acid reflux he would recommend gastric bypass for me because it’s inevitable that since I currently have acid reflux the sleeve would only make it worse so he’d rather I avoid that the 1st time.

    Sleeve to Bypass

Hello SHNGSTAR, well I haven't had my surgery yet and I'm due to have it September 7th, I was originally going to be a sleeve but, after my doctor got my labs and endoscopy back he feel its best if I'm a gastric bypass now due to my history with acid reflux he said he don't think it would be good to have the sleeve because it only make the acid reflux worse and its inevitable that I would be coming back to convert due to the reflux will definitely get worse and I really appreciate the fact that he's honest and not all about the money meaning he could very well have given me the sleeve knowing darn well I'd have to come back to be revised and honestly I just don't want to have to get a revision I'd rather go with what is best for me and the beginning I just want to start living my life and being the great me and not in and out of the hospital. I originally was not afraid at all as I've been under anesthesia in my life a few times but I too am having the thoughts of issues and my husband is a seasoned gastric bypass patient and he's attempting to assure me I will be fine he thinks because I'm starting from a lower weight and he don't think it will be that hard due to my weight he said his was harder because he was morbidly obese before we met and married, an although I appreciate him so much I still can't help but worry I don't know why it hit me all of a sudden before finding out I was going to be a bypass patient I was cool calm and collected but something has came over me I know I will pray over myself before going into surgery but still I have my husband and my grandkids that reside with me and we care for and I keep thinking I'm in reasonably good health other then my weight that I'm unhappy with and I don't want any issues from this. I know I have to shake it off because the 7th will be here in no time and I will just still the nerves came over me. By the way I'm 205lbs if your wondering and my height is listed under my name.

    September bypass buddies??

I was originally going for the Sleeve however today my doctor changed me to the Bypass due to on and off acid reflux issues he said it would be better to get the bypass to avoid revision later. My date is September 7th, and I'm super excited to get going with this new life style and new me.
