My travel problems were with Southwest, nothing to do with the surgery center. But I wasn't prepared for them so I was overly anxious and nervous about the whole situation. We had plane problems when we went to leave the terminal which grounded the plane. Then we had to end of switching planes about 3 hours later. This made me late arriving in San Diego so I missed the last van to Tijuana. I had to spend the night in San Diego. It took me over 2 hours to find a hotel and I didn't really have the extra money to spend on that. But in the end, I caught the van in the morning and surgery went on as planned.

I stick with my Protein Shake every morning for breakfast. I also add a half of light and fit yogurt along with a scoop of GENEPRO Protein. That way I am guaranteed to get at least 64 grams of protein to start the day. The thought of food just doesn't interest me anymore, so this is my go to item for now.

Thank you!. I think not enough Protein is definitely my problem. That is my focus starting tomorrow!

I am also around week 4. I can barely get in 300 calories a day. I feel full all the time and still have no desire to eat or drink anything. I have stalled about the last 10 days. Very discouraging but trying to focus on non scale victories. I typically have a Protein Shake with around 2 ounces of yogurts for Breakfast. I try to have lunch but that rarely happens. So dinner is usually 2 sugar free popsicles and maybe a 1/2 cup of cream Soup. I feel like I should be eating more and losing more. Taking it day by day. Hope something happens soon.

I have heard the same thing as well. I am 4 weeks post op. I am currently using Biotin Shampoo, using Biotin vitamin patches and taking a Biotin melt by mouth each morning.

I put them on my stomach...for no particular reason than I can easily reach There is residue from the adhesive sometimes, but all in all doing great. I added the Biotin because I was losing SO MUCH hair. Got me back on track and now I have to keep up with my hair dye because its growing quickly!
I ordered those too. I am expecting the delivery today, but I won't start until Sunday. I was thinking of trying my hip first until the stitches come out. One less thing to worry about in the stomach area!! I added Biotin as well, thanks for the information. I also purchased Biotin Shampoo to help prepare for the Hair loss.

WOW. It's amazing how each doctor is different. I had surgery on July 11th as well. I am still on Clear Liquids until day 10 then progress to Protein Shakes, Soups, and yogurt. I am glad I joined this group. Full of good information.

HI all,
Just returned from gastric sleeve surgery in Tijuana, Mexico with Dr. Mario Almanza. I only met the Dr one time. He thoroughly explained the operation and then posed for photo ops with each patient. Never saw or heard him after that morning. However, the hospital was in excellent condition, almost new. The staff was professional, courteous, supportive and nice. I had a few travel hiccups, but overall I believe the opportunity was exceptional and would recommend both Dr and hospital.

You're very welcome. I recently heard of some information regarding Grand View. I am not sure if it is true or just rumors. Someone was talking about infections and other things happening at the hospital. I did not experience any of this. One person had to go back into surgery because her pouch was too restricted, but I was not aware of any other issues with patients. You do have to be self-supportive through, they do not coddle you. Bring someone with you for help. I also like the fact that all meds were given twice a day by IV. Like I said, good experience and no regrets.
