  1. @ J San does it really taste the same with water? 🤣🤣🤣
  2. So I’m 9’ days post op and am literally tired of these pre made protein shakes... they are upsetting my stomach more than anything... I already use lactose milk when I made my own... I don’t know it if I am going to be able to drink them post surgery... I drank them like crazy before surgery and now all these problems... pain gas bloating... makes me feel so miserable...

    July surgery

Surgery July 18th and I have to be honest and say I have had a couple of days of buyers remorse... but several people tell me that’s normal even Bariatric nurse case manager.. out of surgery wanted 34 ounces of water which was damn near impossible.. some of the things by body likes my stomach doesn’t like carnation no sugar added breakfast essentials.. I’m post op day 9 and my stomach is still the boss of what it likes... things that are too cold or too hot it doesn’t like... my nausea has improved and the pain is just with movements.. the spasms are less frequent primarily when things are to cold or my stomach is full... I prefer to eat protein and not drink protein.... i can’t wait for that stage..
  6. I week post op here.... I’m having a hard time adjusting... anyone else??

I cheated with egg drop soup.. the broth and eggs and a little cottage cheese... my mom had gastric bypass 10 years ago and she had the egg drop soup...

    July surgery

Well everything, I’m post op day 2!!! I’m in a lot of pain... I’m truly grateful for the forums and peoples comments because it helped me.. out of surgery that evening I walked and was feeling great and then around 2am these spasms start happening... felt like contractions... it’s normal they say... of course abdominal pain and soreness and nausea... my first liquids I threw up 😠 but with all the medications I am able to tolerate some fluids... what I’ve realized is that if the liquid is too cold or to hot.. my stomach is not feeling it.. so I’ve been doing things room temperature.. I’m not trying to scare anyone... but this surgery was nothing like my gallbladder... much more pain... yesterday I was having buyers remorse, but today I am feeling a lot better.... if these spasms go away... I will be happy!!! One again thank you for the blogs that gave real information, because when it happens to me I said to my self.. that’s what the bloggers said would happen... I’m going to try full liquids to see if my stomach tolerates that per the surgeons order... I have 5 incisions and I got Rid of the catheter on post op day 1....

My doctor requires a liquid diet for 2 weeks and I notice a lot of variations with the pre surgical diet.. I have to say 12 days no sugar is a blessing for me... I diet not stick truly to the liquid diet when I felt I was going to pass out!!! I did eat my 4 ounce low fat cottage cheese, some egg whites, egg drop soup, and liquid grits.. my mother had roux n y 10 years ago and is very successful and didn’t have to go thru the liquid diet... only a 3 day liquid diet... I have to say it has prepped me for Wednesday and the next 2 weeks for liquids only.. I’m looking forward to full liquids.. the crazy thing is that I’m not craving sweets... I want a piece of chicken 🍗 , a cheese stick, a boiled egg 🥚 🤣🤣🤣🤣

My bags will be packed today.. 😊 I’m working up until Wednesday... our process here with the military health system was systematic and had their requirements you must meet. I’m having my surgery at the hospital I work.. in more stressed about privacy than anything but requested myself non searchable in computer system. I do find a lot of doctors have different diet plans. I will have to be on liquid then full liquids then puréed over 4 weeks..

I’m posting again since I didn’t give that much information. I’m July 18th, sleeve, at Fort Gordon Georgia. I’ve been on my liquid diet for 10 days this far. I have cheated with egg drop soup... I find several doctors have different diet requests. No sugar for 10 days and that doesn’t bother we... what I want is a piece of chicken 🍗 😆 I started this process last February and had to go thru some things twice. It didn’t take me that long, I wasn’t emotionally prepared since my brother passed away unexpectedly in 2015. But now I’m ready 🙏🏼. I have to say I’m more nervous about the possible complications versus the meal/diet/ lifestyle changes. And I’m a RN did we over think 🤔 everything. I 🙏🏼 for positive outcomes for everyone and healthy healing... 😃
