What do you plan to say if your girlfriends notice that you've lost close to 50lbs? Are you going to make up something or tell them the truth?

Are you afraid of what others will say and you really don't welcome their opinions? Some people can say the most thoughtless of things.

Here is a screen shot of mine

  2. My puréed menu basically consisted of tuna pouches, canned chicken, I used Greek yogurt instead of mayo to make chicken/tuna salad, cottage cheese, yogurt, baked sweet potato with a scoop of flavor free Protein Powder, fat free pudding with scoop of Protein powder, sugar free Italian ice & popsicles, omelet with cheese, imitation crab (not high in protein but needed a change of flavors), baked fish.....and tons of Protein Drinks. Favorite was blending 4oz of almond milk, with 3-4 frozen strawberries, 1/2 frozen banana and scoop of vanilla flavor protein.

Honestly no one has said/noticed anything. Maybe because I’ve seen them regularly....or that it’s not noticeable, Not sure. Since starting this journey I had to do the 3 months with Dr visits & nutritionist (for insurance ) so most knew I was on a high Protein, low carb, low fat, low sugar diet. And I bounced back super quick from surgery, only stayed 1 night /2days so no one questioned anything.

I chose not to tell because of the negative stigma associated with the surgery— about “taking easy way out” and fear of what if this doesn’t work or isn’t noticeable.

  4. I’m a very private person. So I chose not to tell friends & family that I’ve had the surgery ( only hubby knows). I’ve been able (so far) to avoid eating in front of everyone. Anyways I have a girls night out next week and this will be my first dinner out to a restaurant. How do you guys handle ordering from menu.....ordering drinks? I’m thinking to possibly get a virgin something so it doesn’t look suspicious. Any suggestions?

  5. It happened to me too! I never used sugar in my coffee just a little Creamer and since surgery I can’t seem to drink more than a sip. I have no desire either. It’s weird prior to the liver reduction diet I’d drink 3-4 cups a day. I love the smell of fresh coffee but don’t get same joy from drinking it.

  6. I am not a yogurt person!

I have bought some fat free Chobani & FAGE brands and can’t seem to eat more than a spoonful, taste is too bitter. So I am curious as to how you all incorporate your Greek yogurt into your meals. I am 6 weeks post up and starting to incorporate new textures.

    any suggestions.

Can you use proteinh20 as your Water at some point? Just curious. I like Water but it’d be a great way to do two things at once.

I was told yes by my DR......they also told me that sugar free popsicles, Gatorade G2, crystal light....all that stuff counts to water intake. I was told 48-64 oz of water,.....but mainly focus on color of urine

I buy them online at Walmart— 24$ for a 12 pack. They have 15 & 20g Protein bottles but come in lots of flavors

I love Premir Protein - my nutritionist gave me a sample I think it’s great. The other two sound good. It’d be good to have a variety. As far as the powder, I used to make protein waffles, I forget what was in them now but they were pretty good. So mashed potatoes and Soup, okay thanks.

Protein waffles sound great. I’m still not on solids but I’ll need to remember that!

Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but I've completely ignored my body's sense or lack of hunger since surgery.

I decided what Protein Fiber and calories numbers I needed to hit, and just set up a routine where I would eat meals at the same time everyday no matter what. And I just simply spread out my calories over the course of the day to hit those numbers.

6am I'm eating Breakfast. 3pm I'm eating lunch, 6pm dinner, 9pm my late Protein snack.

I don't care when or if I'm hungry, when it's time to eat it's time to eat. And as long as getting my protein Fiber and staying within my rough caloric range that's all that I care about.

Otherwise I'm not getting hungry enough that I have to eat thanks to the surgery, and it's hard to imagine that I'm overeating as long as I'm making smart choices and staying in my calorie range

Do you really go that long without eating —- between Breakfast & lunch? And you’re not hungry?

  10. I love the convenience of premade Protein drinks. My favorites are

    1-premier protein chocolate 30g protein

2- protein H2O 20g protein juice like (coconut flavor tastes just like piña cola without alcohol)

3-. Eas carb control 17g protein (cold brew coffee flavor).

I make my own shake every morning using half frozen banana, 3-4 frozen strawberries, 5oz unsweetened almond milk and 2 scoops of brand Bariatric Fusion vanilla flavor - 27g

i have some unflavored protein that I use inside my pudding & mashed potatoes.....but don’t really cook with it

  11. I’m about 5.5 weeks out and I find the stomach gas & noises and constant need to burp really annoying.

I agree it took a while to realize hunger pains for me too.....and in the last week or so I’ve been noticing them more. I have been keeping track of food intake through fitness app.....and this has helped tremendously.
