    Pounds lost

I’m 13 months out from my sleeve, and have lost 115. My nutritionist says that I am likely at my set point.

    June Sleevers Lets Get Excited!!!

My surgery was June 1. I’m down 60 lbs from my surgery date, and 81 lbs from my highest weight. I was wearing a 4X before surgery, and now I am in a1X.

    Nov 2018 Hydration Challenge

I still struggle to get in enough fluids, so count me in! I'm Kasrielle on MFP. My nutritionist has me using it and bring her my reports, so I'm recording everything!
  4. I was 310 when I started in the Bariatric Program in August of 2017, and 286 when I had my surgury on June 1 2018. This morning I weighed in at 241 - crazy! I always said I didn't care about getting skinny - I just wanted my knees to stop hurting and to be able to go up the stairs if necessary. It's a process for sure!

    Hair loss

Mine started falling out a couple of weeks ago, and I get great clumps in the shower. Luckily, while my hair is quite fine, I had a ton of it. So the thinning of it has not rendered me bald - yet. My stylist cut it differently to take advantage of how thin it is getting, and that helped. My understanding is the the hair loss will stop eventually - isn't that right?

I tried a diet coke today...

I stopped dringing diet pepsi after I was hospitalized for a pulmanary embolism in Feb of 2017. And while my nutritionist discourages them, she said Icould have one if I wanted. However, in my case the diet soda greatly increased my urge to eat. So I'm in no hurry to go back to them.

    Centrum and vitamins. Show me

I took Centram Silver chewables, and they made me really nauseous. I'm switching over to tablets now. I'm also on Caltrate Chewables, Caltrate Chocolate Chews, and jamison B complex Berry Bliss. Oh - and B sublingual, and Ferimax powder. Good grief!

    Time off from work?

I was off for 4 weeks, and really needed 3 of them. I was very glad to be able to be off that long.

    Calorie intake

I'm 10 weeks out and usually getting between 700-900. Like many of you, I'm struggling most to get in enough fluids - water is now making me nauseous. I've tried it flavoured, unflavoured, warm, room temp, iced - you name it. I keep at it, but I'mlucky to get in more than 45 ounces, and that is with counting all my other fluids, too. (Protein shakes, milk, etc.)
  10. Hi all, My nutritionist suggested I get some of these supplements to help with getting enough protein and fibre. In Canada they are carried by a company called Caring Solutions - https://www.caringsolutions.ca/ . I got some samples from them - the liquacel comes in several flavours and each serving has 16 grams of protein. The fibercel has 5 grams of fibre in each serving. I was just wondering if anyone is using them and what you think?

    June Sleevers Lets Get Excited!!!

I'm down 30 lbs since June 1, and in my 3rd week of soft solids. My nutritionist won't let me start on regular food for another 3 weeks. I'm averaging between 400 and 700 calories, but struggle to get in 50 grams of protein. And I cannot get 20 grams of fibre no matter how hard I try. And I'm only averaging around 46 ounces of water. I know I need to drink more, and up my protein and fibre. How do you do it? I have water will me at all time, and try to sip regularly. Can i take in more than a mouthful every 15 minutes at this point?

How often do you weigh yourself?

I've been weighing myself every morning, first thing. I only record my losses, but any stalls or gains allow me to look back over my food diary and think about what I've taken in vs out. Not enough water? Not enough fiber? Not enough protein? Ok - and I make adjustments.

    What to tell coworkers?

Wow - I must be so lucky. My supervisor and team haave been amazingly supportive. I knew given my starting weight that people would be quite curious about my sudden weight loss. I told my supervisor and my team exactly what I was having, including explaining what a gastric sleeve was. They were all incredibly happy and supportive for me, and most had stories of someone they knew who had a similar surgery, and how it changed their life.
  14. I was addicted to diet drinks for many years, as I got fatter and fatter. Last February I had a Saddle Pulmanary Embolism and almost died. While in the hospital my respirologist would not let me have any pop - so cold turkey it was. I never started drinking it again, thanks goodness. Then after starting the Bariatric program in August of last year my nutritionist started pulling me off everything else in preparation for surgery. First iced tea (it was sweetened), then carbonated water, then caffiene. I'm now 6 weeks out, and have had regular coffee a couple of times. No problems with it but I find I don't need it. I imagine I will go back to the occasional diet drink after 6 months or so, but I don't need it like I used to.

    How long off work/disability?

I was off for 4 weeks - today is my first day back. My biggest issue is that I'm still really weak from not getting in very many calories. Luckily I have a desk job and I've managed to work the whole day. I'm hoping that the more I move at the office, the more energy I'll get...

    Stalls

I had my sleeve on June 1 and lost 21 lbs between June 1 and 22. I have not lost an ounce since. Gained almost a pound and then went back down to 264, and now I’m stuck there. It’s really frustrating.
  17. So I had my sleeve on June 1 and I'm supposed to go back to work this coming Tuesday. However, every time I get dressed and have something around my waist it gets really uncomfortable. No hard core pain, but really tender. Even my pajama pants are uncomfortable, and I have to pull them down below my belly. My belly isn't hard. Could it just be gas? I also am struggleing to get more than 4 cups of water a day, and I'm going around 3 days between bowel movements (not to get too personal...) And I've been stuck at the same weight for 6 days now... Any advice?
  18. Thanks for your resonse, toodlerue. My doc won't let me take metamucil (I took a little one day and it really caused a lot of pain.) I'm trying to get in enough water to help. I don't feel constipated - I think my body is just in shock at going to so little food, and has to adjust.
  19. I didn't start pureed food until my 4th week post op. I'm there now, and will not start soft solids until my 6th week.

Any June 2018 Sleevers in Here?!

Hi all! I just found this forum. I had my sleeve on June 1, and have lost just over 20 lbs. I've moved from just protein powder and diabetic Boost to cream soups and yougurt. (Cream of chicken soup never tasted so good!) My problem is I can't get enough calories in or enough water. I should be drinking 5 cups a day, but I can't get in more than 2. Every time I eat anything, or take my suppliments, I'm so full that I can't get even water in without a lot of discomfort. It's like I"m full up to my throat. So I'm great as long as I'm sitting doing nothing, but moving around makes me dizzy and weak. I'm not sure how I'll be able to go back to work if I can't figure this out. Any ideas? I'm having lots of protein powder, incuding a tablespoon in every 1/2 cup of soup, but it isnt enough. Yesterday I managed around 500 calories, but only 49 grams of protein... I just saw my profile on the left - yes, my starting weight in the bariatric program was 310, but I was 285 on surgery day - so 20 lbs lost.
