  1. My surgery is on Monday June 25 and I honestly feel like backing out. Is this a normal feeling? I have my high and low moments and I’m afraid I might be making the worst decision of my life. I have been on a liquid diet for 8 days. I’m not sure if that’s starting to cloud my judgement, but I feel so conflicted at this moment.
Don't give up, your so close. Mines wens. I'm super grumpy, with no food. Lol. Finish line is almost there.

  2. My surgery is June 27th, I am on liver shrinking diet and having a hard time with cravings. I cant seem to get a few of them out of my head. I have a 3 day liquid diet still that I have to do as well. I need this surgery and cant let cravings get the best of me. Any advice on how to combat these cravings would be helpful.
Mines the 27 the too. Im on a 14 day liquid diet. I brush my teeth five times a day and chew gum. It helps me not crave any food. Good luck.

  3. In our seminar we were told that bariatric surgery makes good relationships better and troubled relationships worse. (not saying your relationship is bad....just saying that it does seem to bring existing issues to the surface and demand that they be addressed)
There's a reason bariatric surgery is often coined "divorce surgery"....because it does seem to be the catalyst of the end of relationships in a lot of circumstances.
It could be his insecurity at the idea of you being more fit and attractive, it could be that he's attached to your old eating habits and doesn't want to change them, could be a lot of changes that come with doing something positive for yourself....assertiveness, confidence, outspokenness, interest in doing more, etc.
Regardless of what's going on....I would take it seriously and work on it. Have the hard discussions. Figure out if you need some counseling to help sort through it....it never hurts.
    Best wishes!
    Thank-you

  4. Has anyone had to deal with the death of a parent right after surgery. My dad passed unexpectedly 3 days post op and I’m really struggling. My surgery was 6/12 and he passed on 6/15. I’m a mess. My mom has early stage Alzheimer’s and he was her care giver. So I’m planning the funeral all by myself and dealing with my mom. I had to stop taking my pain killers because I needed to be able to drive. I’m so stressed and surrounded by food. And I’m hungry and nauseated at the same time. This can’t good. Help!
I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm sorry you are having such a ruff time.

congrats on making it this far. The two week diet for me was a mixed bag of everything. Some days were great and other days your just pulling your hair out wanting to eat something. It makes it harder that I’m the cook of the family and I prepare all the meals!! It’s a total test , but if you can get through these two weeks it will make the surgery so much easier and smoother! I had to work extra hard because I had fatty liver and my DR required me to loose weight before surgery. Good Luck !! Just look past the two weeks at the goal.
Thank-you I needed to hear your story. It makes me feel like I'm not alone.
