I'm at about the two year mark now. Definitely slower gains at this point, but still going strong.

Hi richiewho, I'm right at 500-550 now. Basically, I start my day with a cup of tea and about 1/3c whole milk (indulgent, but it tastes SOOO good). Usually I put a scoop of GENEPRO powder in it as well. Then later in the morning I have a Pure Protein Shake made with skim milk. In the afternoon I have a cup of broth, and sometimes another 8oz of skim milk. I guess I'm a fan of milk, hey? Plus lots and lots of Water in between. So far it's all working, 11 days after surgery I'm down 18#.

I was sleeved on July 16, and my recovery is going pretty well. The biggest issue is fatigue. I take 2-3 naps per day, in addition to sleeping the night through. It's easy for me to keep hydrated, and Protein Shakes go down easy. If I could just have a little more energy! I'm praying for all of us July sleevers, may God help us through this journey to become more healthy.

yep - IV Fluid. Give it a few days - it'll work its way out of your system, and then you'll be on your way!

Yep, same thing exactly happened to me, went in at 290 after losing 22 on the pre-op diet. Discharged at 297. I had a real hard time getting Water in to start with at home, so once I started peeing a lot I knew it was the edema and swelling releasing the IV fluids that had accumulated.

Definitely normal. I gained over 10 lbs right after surgery. I had never been over 200 lbs in my life and planned to NEVER hit the 200 lbs mark but I was 203 lbs for a few days after surgery. and I panicked.
It is just all the air they pump in you and the IV fluids.. only lasts for like 3-5 days and it will vanish. Don't worry!!

Normal. I came out of the hospital a whole 10 pounds heavier than when I went in. It’s scientifically impossible to gain fat on 600 calories a day, don’t stress.

I had two weeks of a Protein Shake for Breakfast and lunch, and then a small, healthy meal for dinner (usually 2-4oz of a lean meat and a cup of veggies).

So I just got me gastric sleeve surgery date which is 9/12. I completed the 3 month nutrition program required by Blue Shield and managed to not lose a single pound. After meeting with the surgeon 2 weeks ago, he told me he wants me to lose 40 lbs before the surgery to make it safer (shrink the liver I’m guessing). He gave me 3 months to lose the weight so the clock is ticking. I also met with the dietician who was very nice and gave me some tips with dieting in order to lose the required weight before the surgery. I am definitely nervous but also excited. I have a friend who did this surgery about 18 months ago and now looks incredible. Glad I stumbled on this site to give and get support!
