I need help. My daughter is 15 and I feel like she’s going down a very bad path health wise (very poor eating habits) sorry for the long background- 2 years ago she had a relationship with a girl friend and finally opened up to me about being gay. She hates herself and still struggles greatly with self esteem and self love. Prior to that summer she was always lean and super athletic. Since then, she’s been on and off depressed, very moody, and very lazy. Last summer she gained about 30 pounds in just a couple months and now has stretch marks, cellulite, etc. she now hates herself even more. I’m trying to set a good example for her, I was sleeved on 5/29/18 and have been trying to help her make healthier choices. Unfortunately, whenever I try she gets angry and sad and says that I think she’s fat and a disappointment in many ways. We’ve gone to 3 different counselors of these two years, but she never made much progress. What can I do?

Thanks for responses. Do you both use free weights or the machines? I’ve only ever used the machines but it always seems like the “serious” people always use the free weights

Hi everyone. I’m about 8 weeks post op from sleeve. I’m losing slowly but sticking to my diet. I’m trying to exercise, but still struggling with that. I’d like to start lifting weights, like heavy weights - anyone have any tips? I’m 46 years old female and not very athletic.

I have not had any issues with acid reflux or heartburn so no, I stopped taking them after weeks 2. But you know what, thanks for the suggestion. I will try using them again to see if that helps. Thanks for suggesting it

I just had my 5 week follow up today and they said they want to see 35 percent of excess weight lost by 3 months. My excess weight from day of surgery was 100 lbs, so I hope to be down at least 35 pounds by 3 months. Today at week 5 I’m down 22 lbs so I’m on a good path.
Hi all. I had my sleeve 5/29 and my job approved
Me for 6 weeks of disability. Has anyone been approved for anything longer without major complications? I’ve been so lethargic and tired the past couple of weeks and I’m worried it won’t let up before I have to return to work. I’m getting in all my Protein and fluids and Vitamins daily.
I feel like I’m an oddball. I have no issues eating or drinking, since about week 2. I’ve even had small bites of steak with no issues at week 3. I sometimes feel like maybe my surgeon didn’t even do the sleeveOn 06/30/2018 at 02:44, Minerva1113 said:

@melloyellow I was stuck at around 13-15 lbs for my first 3 weeks and now this last week I’m down a total of 21 from my sleeve date of 5/29. Don’t lose hope, I felt the same as you and then suddenly I started dropping again
I’m hitting at least 60 Protein daily, taking my prescribed Bariatric Vitamins 2x day and fluids are good. It seems like when I transitioned from full liquids to soft foods, at week 3, I lost all of my energy. I was working out and doing a ton of projects and running around, now I struggle to stay awake every afternoon.
I had my sleeve on 5/29. The first few weeks I had loads of energy, but just around week 3 through now (week 4) I feel exhausted. I’m napping every afternoon and have no energy. I’m also experiencing restless leg syndrome. Anyone else?
Supergal we are in exactly the same boat, same surgery date and same loss numbers. Do you mind me asking your weight on surgery date and height? I too am struggling with Constipation. What are you using to treat it?
I had sleeve on 5/29. The first few weeks I felt great and had lots of energy. I started soft foods a week ago and I’m feeling more sluggish and tired. I know my body is adjusting but it’s frustrating. I’ve also only lost 16 pounds in 4 weeks, I thought I would have lost more. I was 233 day of surgery (5’4”, 46 years old female). How many calories are you taking in during soft food stage?
How long are you required to be liquids only? I had the sleeve and my office requires 3 full weeks of liquids only. I’ve read others only do 1 week then move on to soft/puréed week 2. Curious what everyone is doing
I’m so sick of sweet Protein Drinks and clear broths. Any suggestions of Soup, either from supermarket or restaurant chains?? I have 2 more long weeks to go
I’m on day 5 after sleeve and I don’t feel like I’m losing much. How much did everyone lose their first 2 weeks?
