I have always hated exercise but I have learned, especially after my surgery, that it is a necessary evil for me to lose my weight. I had surgery on June 6th and am down 64lbs but I always, always dread going to the gym. I usually do 45 minutes of a fast pace walk and then 15 minutes of strength training. What do your workouts look like? I would like to switch it up a little but then again I am a stickler for routine and don't do well with change. Anybody else dread it as much?

Thank you! I have just recently switched up my workout routine so maybe that will jump start things again

That’s not true. While Keto is cooking with and using/eating more fats it’s main focus is Protein , no sugar and no carbs. But as with any diet you can modify as to not intake as much fat and salt. Maybe mine will get better but after I’ve eaten my protein, I have no room for any vegetables. And I was told to limit my carbs to 20-30 per day which is next to nothing because it seems like almost everything has carbs in it. I’m grasping at straws because my surgeons office did a merger and since then I haven’t been able to talk to my nutritionist.

I am almost 3 months out from my sleeve and have lost 50 lbs which I am good with but still struggle with getting all of my Protein in so I have started following the ketogenic diet. Anyone else tried this? Thoughts? Results?

My journey started in October 2017 and I had surgery in June of this year. I think it all depends on what your insurance requires

You got this! If it was easy everybody would be skinny. You will have your bad days , hence my original post, but with your positive mentality you will be just fine!

Gomum I think some of it has to do with Aunt Flo on her way. Today is a new day though and I’m starting over!
Greentealael I will look into that! Thank you! -
Hey frustr8!! How are you doing??
-
So I am almost 8 weeks post op and have been doing great! I’ve lost 36 pounds and I exercise at least 6 days a week and eat mostly Protein and try to eat less than 30 carbs a day. But today has been rough. All I want is Cereal. Like fruity pebbles cereal. And I’ve been hungry today like no other!!!!! And because of all this I feel big and like I’m sabotaging my hard work! I would even eat the fruity pebbles in almond milk if it would help!
I guess I am just looking for reassurance from my sleeve family that I’m just have one of those days and it too shall pass 😔Frustr8 and GreenTealael reacted to this -
Make sure it doesn’t have a lot of carbs and sugar in it

OMG I was about to post the same thing!!! I’ve not necessarily been very hungry but I’m stalling also and my surgery was the same day as yours. So frustrating! I walk almost 2 miles everyday as instructed and eat Protein for every meal. I’m stuck at a 23lbs loss

It gets better. I was the same way. After about day 4 you will feel much better

Does anyone have a particular app they are using to track what they are eating besides my fitness pal? I’m finding it hard to work with since right now my main focus is Protein and not much else

It will get better but it’s tough. Hang in there

Hey friends,
I am exactly 2 weeks post op and am down 20lbs but I feel like I’m stuck at that number. I’m getting very little to no calories in and my body is going through ketosis AGAIN. I know everyone’s body’s are different but how much was everyone losing at this point? And what where you eating on the regular to get Protein in? I cannot do anymore Protein Shakes right now. They literally make me gag. Also, what kind of exercise are you doing at this point?
Thanks!!!!!! -

Alright ladies and gents,
I apologize in advance because I feel like I only get on here to bitch and complain. But I genuinely love the support and help you all give. With that being said, I feel like I’m not getting enough in. I was sleeved on June 6th. I still try to drink my Protein Shakes but I’ve had about enough of those so I’m trying to eat what I’m supposed to. And so far that has been eggs, cottage cheese and Peanut Butter. Eggs make my belly hurt and he cottage cheese did the same thing. So for today all I have had was 2 bites of egg and 2 spoons of peanut butter. And it also seems like my pallet has changed too because the peanut butter I used to love I can’t seem to stomach anymore. I just feel like I’m not getting enough Protein in because I’m trying to take a break from the shakes cause they Are so unappealing to me now. Any opinions or experiencing the same type of thing?Orchids&Dragons reacted to this -

I waited just because I was doing good to get Protein Shakes in much less anything else. I don’t see why it would hurt but be ready cause you are going to want to devour that thing and after about 2-3 bites your stomach will put a stop to it real quick!!!! So savor those minuscule bites!!!

Pleasedontjudgeme I was starving after about 5 or 6 days. I am now 16 days post op and am allowed to have soft food so I tried some cottage cheese which was delicious but after about 3 bites I was done for! I still crave pizza like no other. We just have to have the will power to overpower those wants because they aren’t needs. I can promise you this though- it does get easier! Hang in there darlin!

Received A Bill Finally
in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums

bypass the dr's office and go to your insurance company. I received a bill from the hospital for $12800 and it is because they filed it as my surgeon, anesthesiologist and hospital as all being out of network! I had to literally call them weekly to make sure they were staying on top of it and getting everything refiled and in the end they sent ME a check for over payment of approximately $98. I researched the surgery for 2.5 years before doing it and knew exactly what I would be responsible for out of pocket and kept ALL receipts and correspondence information between myself, the hospital, dr's office and insurance company. The dr's office doesn't care whose oversight it is as long as they get paid. Contacting your insurance company and making sure they filed everything correctly is worth a shot. Good luck!
