LMAO, wow just wow.
There are lots of people who are gender Fluid or somewhere on the spectrum. I wouldn't laugh, it could be one of your friends or family members.

I think you might be right. Scrambled eggs, tuna w/ a bit of mayo. It's a little better if I mix it w/ avacado but still very uncomfortable. I had a hiatal hernia fixed as well. Could that be part of the issue?

Me too. I did call the doctor. They acted like it was normal lol.

Drinking while eating flushes the food through without digesting it, that will cause malabsorption. I think it might be wise to call your doctor. I hope you feel better soon.
The research actually shows that drinking liquids with meals does not effect nutrient absorption. Your intestines are very long and effective at pulling the nutrients out of food. The issue with drinking fluids during meals is that it doesn't stay in your stomach as long and so you can feel hungrier sooner. This was also a question that I asked my surgeon.

I'm just starting on soft foods but they really hurt to swallow. I'm chewing a lot. I never was a person who drank anything while I was eating (I would chug a bunch of Water about 4 times a day) but now I can't get through a few bites without washing it down! Is it normal for it to hurt? Will that go away? Am I totally sabotaging myself by drinking while eating?

It's def weird, I felt very weird getting total knee replacement - having bones cut and metal parts. That you can feel at least lol, but poof 85% of your stomach, it's like David Cooperfield did a 'slight of hand' trick with a black tablecloth. Presto!
This is exactly how I feel. Sometimes I wish my abdomen could be see through for a moment so I could just see what's up in there.

I agree with you, but I don't want to give unwanted advice or insight. So I'd rather support their decision to be private.
I agree. I won't post there, actually I had not even noticed the gendered groups before now. But I think it is potentially closed minded.

I think it is silly to restrict to men and women only. People are people. When you do that you might really be missing out. Don't assume that a woman (or man) might not have insight into your specific topic. We have spouses, siblings, etc that help us gain experience in all sorts of ways.

I didn't even risk it. I started taking a dose of Miralax three days after the surgery. I tried to take the dulcolax but I really can't swallow pills without pain. I'm 3 weeks out and I mix a half dose of miralax in with my 20 oz of crystal light and drink it throughout the day.

I am 3 weeks post op today and I am terrified that my stomach will stretch out again too. I am afraid that I won't know it is happening.

Thank you all for the well wishes.
im still feeling great, every time I get up I'm doing 10 or more laps of the ward, blood pressure is low, but not too low, blood sugars have normalized following the surgery. All I can say is that the team whose care I am under is amazing.
It's wonderful that you are feeling so good! Congrats!

Congrats to you! I have surgery in 42 days (but whose counting?) [emoji4] I will also have to have a hiatal hernia repaired, I'm nervous about having most of my stomach removed AND repairing the hiatal hernia. I have read where people feel like they can't get a deep breath afterwards. Sounds like you were feeling pretty great after surgery! How are you feeling today?
I had my sleeve and hiatal hernia repair on May 16 (also an umbilical hernia repair). It was kind of weird feeling to take a deep breath but nothing to be worried about. Just use that plastic gizmo they give you to practice taking deep breaths and it gets better fast.

Maybe you don't need to be 165! You look great! Do you feel good? Maybe that would be a better measure? Just a thought.

But it's true they are bad for the environment. I was given a cup with a reusable straw at the hospital. It was bendy. I kind of liked that. I feel the same about blending the shakes. Most bloated I have felt ever! Never again lol

My surgeon said the no straw thing has no research behind it and they stopped telling patients that a while back. They said they have never had any issue with any patient using straws. Just fyi.

I don't think they would press medication. I won't take it anymore either. I also think many therapists are just as jaded about medication as I am.

Please, don't snub me. I simply posted a picture of my food and all hell has broken loose.
I have done nothing wrong.
So pls, just stop
I think I really took this situation to heart and have been thinking about it. I'm a sensitive person and i care deeply about things and i just felt like this needs to be our safe place and that person made it feel less safe.

Makes me sad. I feel like I have been so hurt as a child, teenager, adult for just being me and doing my thing. Its caused us all to be so self conscious and afraid to be ourselves. We can sometimes forget that people can be fragile. We have all been guilty of being insensitive at times but take the opportunity to step back and evaluate where toy we're coming from when you said what you said. I don't really see the point in criticizing unless there is a focused purpose to foster important and meaningful change. I really don't see how the comment would fit anywhere in that criteria. Just approach with kindness.

Looks ok to me. Sure is a lot of focus on just a plate of food. Food to fuel us instead of kill us. I think it more than meets the requirements.

You should have had tougher skin and clicked the little "x" on your browser tab if you didn't like the picture instead of insulting a stranger who came to this forum for support.
Also, just apologize. We have all been through a lot.
