    Vitamins

What surgery are you having? Bypass requires a multivitamin, sublingual B12 and Calcium. Duodenal requires that plus ADEK vitamins. Sleeve and Band I'm not sure.

    Constipation help

I am really struggling with constipation. I have tried Milk of Magnesia, a Fleet Enema and now stool softeners. It's very painful and sore when I try to go. Everything is hard and not moving well. Any suggestions this is awful. I had RNY Gastric Bypass a month and a week ago. I was on antibiotics but finished a week ago. I just take Tylenol as needed. I have had a few Saltines due to nausea. I'm miserable. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using BariatricPal mobile app

    June RNY buddies?

I'm nauteous and constipated. Down 25 pounds but it's been tough. I've stalled at 25 pounds lost. I think I need to eat more veggies but no appetite.
  5. I doubt it will be postponed. You could always call and ask. Lots of fluid and rest and stress relief. Best of luck 😊

Ab muscle spasms week after RNY?

Yes I have them. Try ice, going for a walk or gently pushing in on the spasm. Sleep propped up. Heat may help too. It gets less after awhile.

    June RNY buddies?

I have that side pain too I think ice helps (I press in on the muscle that is cramping not too hard but it helps the spasm. I have to sleep on the couch with my head and upper body angled up or a reclining chair for that reason. You are not alone. I hear it will pass just not sure when. Doctor said that pain is normal because they put a long straw like tube in there during surgery and move it all around. It upsets muscle and nerves. It should get better. Heat might help too. Hang in there June bug

    Anxiety about surgery anyone?

I also have anxiety and it made the decision to elect a surgery very difficult. I had Gastric Bypass one month ago today and I survived 😁. The hardest thing after was nausea. The pain was fine I was on a pain pump. It's a challenge but I'm down 25 pounds the first month. Try to focus on the positive outcome and do plenty of things to relieve stress. Best of luck!

    VEGAN after WLS

I try to be mostly vegan. I do vegan protein shakes with flaxseed or almond milk, tofu, vegan chicken, beans, avocado and lentil and other soups. My body is not a fan of dairy Also nuts and nut butter, hummus, check out Pinterest for low carb and sugar vegan recipes. Make sure you take your vitamins. Also Dr. Weiner on You Tube with his book A Pound of Cure encouraging plant protein after wls. Hope this helps 😊

    June RNY buddies?

Thank you I hope this left side pain goes away. I'm a side sleeper and I have to sleep on my back so my sleep cycle sucks.

    June RNY buddies?

I had Gastric Bypass on June 11th. 20 pounds down but still getting stabbing pains in my left side. Is that normal? Also does anyone deal with head hunger? Any tips?

    Trying to push this

Can your surgeon write the letter or your primary care doctor? You could call and see. Best of luck to you
  15. Good for you it's a very important decision.
  16. Hi Collin, It sounds like you are describing food addiction. Any time you try to quit an abused substance your mind and body will initially fight change. Have you tried Overeaters Anonymous or Food Addicts Anonymous? The basic idea is that you alone cannot conquer your addiction but you can with the help of a higher power. I also struggle with addiction and I attend both OA and therapy to help. Please don't sell yourself short on considering this life saving procedure. I'm almost 2 weeks post op and I feel like I am a better version of myself because I'm not spending so much time obsessing over my next binge. I know it's scary but so is diabetes, sleep apnea, cardiac arrest and early death. You can do this yes it's challenging but in a good way because you are helping yourself. Make a list of the pros and cons of your current life versus your normal BMI life. I think it will surprise you. Best of luck with your decision.
