    Sliders

@Tealael Thank you for explaining that, I have gained a wealth of information from this site...I love it! I know everyone reacts differently from surgery and each person has their own personal experience but I will definately be better informed and more prepared when it's my surgery time. I've already picked up a few items that I will need after surgery based on information that I've read on the site...ex: pill crusher and a few cheap 2 .oz hard plastic reusable cups. Thanks everyone and keep those topics coming.

@Brassapple Don't feel bad...I heard people on the site mention it but I wasn't sure what they meant either. Good question!!

    regretting my sleeve

@Seahawks Fan Oh wow I just check out your IG and LOVE IT!! and started following you, what a great idea...I haven't had my surgery yet but I'm going to try and start that now. Thanks for sharing @connie123lok I agree with all the other post, please give it a chance and don't throw in the towel yet, it's still new for you. You can do it!! Hugs
  4. Hello everyone, I have a question...I know after having the sleeve surgery I won’t be able to drink any sparkling bubbly water. I love to cook, try new recipes and grill especially on Sundays and I enjoy having my wine or cocktail ( it’s just so relaxing, fun and chill) lol...so anyway I have been preparing myself for change, surgery and working on losing weight with my nutritionist so I just decided on my own to cut out the alcohol and switched to sparkling water with fruit in it for now and I put it in a wine glass so I feel like I’m still enjoying my cocktail, are there other drink options out there besides the protein shakes, Gatorade etc that I can still sip on in my wine glass?? I know after surgery I won’t be grilling out for a while but I love drinks in pretty glasses even if it’s not alcohol...it’s just my thing that I enjoy 😉 any suggestions...
  5. To all of you lovely ladies and Matt in this conversation, I just honestly think people do not know what to say a lot of the times or it comes out wrong or don’t want to embarrass you because they may not have complimented you in the past but you all have worked very very hard and done a great job!! So please please accept the compliments even if it comes out as superficial, shallow, crazy etc. Reality is when you lose a significant amount of weight sometimes you may look like a totally different person, and that’s not a bad thing, you may not see it but others do...and NO people did not think that any of you were disgusting before, we live in a society that have people so messed up that even as adults they kinda go with the crowd or bullies and do not know how to react well to change. Enjoy the compliments and trust me people that don’t say anything they are noticing you. I’m so proud of you all, I don’t know you all but I love the support that you give everyone here so I know that you are all beautiful people inside and out. Know your worth, sparkle and shine on...

Pre-surgery (in 8 Days). Need Advice.

Hello @Crazy4Charlito congratulations on your upcoming surgery, I am still pre-op, I hope to have surgery in August. I haven’t told a lot of people but the ones that I did tell, before they could get their opinion out I said if you can’t be supportive of my decision then I do not want to here what you have to say, I told them that I’m doing this for my health and to have a better quality of life...they respected my decision and got on board real quick. I’m a pretty private person at work so I only mentioned it to a few people that I am close to and knew they would be supportive. Be strong and it’s your business, you don’t have to tell them anything really. I wish you all the best 🤗 🌺
  13. That looks awesome!! I’m so glad I asked. Thank you Tealael 👌🏾

2 days Post Op - Update

Sounds like you are doing really good, congrats on your surgery. Can’t wait for mine in August.
  16. Hello everyone, I’m new to the site but have been reading a lot of great posts, tips, situations and so forth. I thank you all. I am still pre-op, I have my last nutrition appointment on July 12th and then my file will be submitted to insurance for approval (my insurance required 4 nutrition visits) I am having the sleeve done. I know that everyone tolerates and heals differently but I was just curious as to how long people were out of work after having surgery to recover? I do not have a lot of sick and vacation time saved up, I wanted to take 4 weeks but not sure if that will be possible, it will take me a while to accrue that much time...any suggestions would be great, I am mentally and physically ready for the procedure and do not want to put it off longer than I have to.
  17. Thanks everyone. That’s very positive and encouraging...I’m ready 🙂
