    6 days after surgery

Metformin is for diabetes, I have type II diabetes and my endocrinologist told me that after WLS I do not have to take Metformin anymore...It does sound too good to be true but it's their specialty so they know best. When I told my endocrinologist that I was having WLS he was ecstatic, he said that was the best decision ever. That is my main reason for having the surgery is to get off of the Metformin, I literally feel sick to my stomach almost everyday from taking it and I'm so tired of that feeling. Not a good quality of life. Have you had surgery yet? I will on August 29th.
  2. Glad that your surgeon found what was wrong and you are ok now. The 6 months will go by fast. I wish you the best

    OMG I ate too much

@GreenTealael That's great! and it shows your determination. Another good tip...
  9. In the beginning I was worried about should I tell people or keep it a secret because at my job just like all others everyone gossips, that's life though and we are all imperfect....BUT as the time passed I have gotten so excited and have pretty much told everyone (in the section that I work in at least) LOL...even 2 of my guy co-workers. I'm older though (probably would forget what made up story I had told folks...) and really don't care much about what people say behind my back because I know who I am...and I want to help anyone who ever thought about having WLS because I was one of the sceptics years ago but because I'm so comfortable with my decision I just feel like what the heck I'd rather people hear it from me than some lie from someone else. My surgery is August 29th, I have some co-workers counting down with me. But that's just me...I'm kinda crazy so you do what works for you PS: We do have an HR department and they follow the HIPPA Law to a T so no one would have found out from them, from past experience they only send a form stating that the employee is approved for FMLA for whatever number of days your doctor feels like you need to take off...no details on the form at all. I wish you the best.
  10. Hey Congratulations!! I'm the day after you.
  11. You're welcome hun. When you start the process there is so much that you have to do and it will keep you so busy before you know it...BAM! It's surgery time. LOL
  12. Thank you...No I'm not tracking my progress on IG but I do really like this site because I learn so much but I have seen post from others on here that track their progress on FB and IG so maybe do a search on the site. Keep me posted on your insurance outcome.
  13. I think that you pretty much have to go through the the steps required by the insurance company and I don't think that there is no other way around it, the insurance company is forking out a lot of money for your surgery so they want to make sure that you are willing to put in the hard work that it takes now and after surgery to succeed. From my experience it does go by quickly and I know for me I needed that time to get my mind in the right direction and in the right place to prepare for surgery. Each insurance requirements are different also, mine required 4 months of supervised nutrionist visits and other test etc. I started in April and my surgery is scheduled for August 29th. When I was first told it would be 4 months I thought wow what a long process but now I am so glad that they required that because it gave me time to research, change my eating habits and to prepare myself mentally. You can do it! Keep us posted on your journey and I wish you the best!
  14. Hi there...Congrats on your first step. Our stats are pretty close and all the feelings and emotions that you feel are absolutely normal, It actually took me 5 years to decide to start the process, I went for my 1st consultation 5 years ago and I thought I could just do it on my own but that did not happen, so I finally got sick and tired of being sick and tired and I started my process back in April 2018 and had to have 4 months of nutrionist visits, psych visit, lots of blood work and basically what most people on this site had to do but it does vary depending on your program/Doctor and each person...I am happy and excited to say that I am finally scheduled for surgery August 29th. To me it is so worth it and I have found so much information, tips, good people and a wealth of information on this very site. I try and log on daily if I can and read some posts, tips, make a comment and help others as people here have helped me. I have met some very kind folks here. Keep reading and asking questions, everyone here is always willing to inspire others. You made the first step so you will be fine. Feel free to message me anytime and whatever Info or encouragement that I can give you throughout your journey, I am here. I wish you the best!!

    Scar Treatment

I heard that Maderma is really good. My dermatologist reccommended it for a procedure I had but I never used it because my scar eventually faded. Research it and see what you think.
  17. Looking good! Keep up the good work...

    Please mind your business

@GreenTealael in Mr. T’s voice “ I pity the fool” some people are just down right noisy, that’s it, no explanations for them...I’m bad...I would have looked her up and down with a smirk on my face and walked away like Bye 👋🏽 Felicia Lol
