  1. @Jingle123423 as for the protein, although I had my booklet given to me from my team with instructions right by my side, and read it all the time I hadn’t notice that I needed 60-80 g of protein but the nurse at the doctors office called me to make sure that I was getting in my protein, I thought I was doing great day one at home drink a half of a box...reality check lol. So I decided to throw those little cups they gave me in the hospital away because I needed to get moving, my goal was to drink 40 g of protein by noon, took a break for an hour and just dipped on water and at 1:00 started on my other 40 g, I tried to complete it by 7:00. That worked for me, figure out a regime that works for you and stick to it. The nurse said if I didn’t get my protein in that I wouldn’t heal as fast and I would start to feel bad, I didn’t want that to happen and I feel really good. My suggestion is to follow whatever instructions that your team has laid out for you and contact them if you have any problems, they’ve been through this with thousands of patients and have suggestions for you in getting your protein in, you’d be surprised. You can do it!!
  2. @Jingle123423 I know it’s a weird feeling right. Mine did that in the beginning too? I’m 8 days post-op and I noticed that it just stopped maybe like 5 days in or so. I’m still on liquids until this Sunday, my nutritionist said it was ok to start the purée phase a little early since I was tolerating things pretty well. It’s going to get better lol. Hang in there 😉 I’m looking forward and ready for the purée stage.

Is too fast good or bad?

Congratulations! That’s awesome. I’m not a vet but the more your starting weight is the more you will lose, if the starting weight is lower then you lose less lbs. I need to lose 80 lbs but sure do not want to lose it all in 2 months... I don’t think my brain could handle that lol. like NCGITL88 said it just shows how we are all different in our weight loss. You should be proud...Keep up the great work!!

    Glucerna Hunger Smart drink

I drink Labrada because it’s lactose and gluten free, for 17 oz it only has 9 g of carbs and 40 G protein, 280 cal. They work well for me 👍🏾

    Sleeved 9/5/18 Still in hospital

@TX4everLinds it does get sooooo much better. I was sleeved about 7 days ago, no more gas or incision pains, I feel like a new woman. Best decision ever!! Remember to walk, walk, walk it is KEY to moving the gas which hurts worse than the incisions to me 😆 I wish you a speedy recovery. 🌺

September 5- today is my day!

@macadamia I wish you all the best. You got this buddy!!
  12. @frustr8 please don’t bring much, I just had my surgery 5 days ago, I brought a bag full of stuff, the only thing I did use was my phone charger, chap stick and slippers and that’s only because I didn’t want to get back in bed with the dirty socks on that they give you after walking, the hospital provided everything including a comb, which I never combed my hair, I just wasn’t up to it. I just ran my fingers through it a few times lol. I had surgery on a Wednesday morning and went home in the same dress that I wore there, Friday afternoon. I never even used my biotene, they gave me these cool mouth swabs on a stick that Was soaking in some kind of semi sweet liquid that I used when I awoke after surgery. the next day you can brush your teeth and the hospital provides toiletries as well. You will do just fine...I wish you all the best huggsss

    Diabetic Questions

Hi @AndreaK. My situation is similar to yours, I have Type II diabetes and currently take metformin and victoza, I have my surgery wednesday the 29th and my endocrinologist said that literally right after surgery that I can come off all of the diabetic meds...It sounds a little too good to be true but I'm trusting him and I will definately let you know how it goes after surgery...I was able to get off of the meds when losing weight before but regained and was back on it. That is one of the reasons for me having the surgery, but If I don't come completely off it won't be the end of the world, I will just continue to do my best with my lifestyle change and not let that set me back. I wish you all the best.
