Banana's Are Slider Food For Me
Wanda247 replied to Wanda247's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey there Ash...Thank you and that's good to know. Gotta watch that fruit intake -
All I can say is that you all are Rock Stars, I stayed 2 nights and needed it, plus I have low tolerance for pain 😫 maybe it’s the age too, that plays a big roll I’m sure. I’m glad that you all are doing well. 🤗

Does Diabetes affect weight loss?
Wanda247 replied to AchieveGoals's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thank you! Yes when the endocrinologist gave my medication orders to my doctor for after surgery “no meds” I was thinking this is too good to be true...it’s true. I was on metforman and victoza and I was naseous every single day for almost a year, it wasn’t a good quality of life for me and that’s my main reason for having surgery. I haven’t went for blood work since surgery, I go in another month and I can’t wait to see what my A1C will be. I do monitor my blood sugars at home so far so good -
Does Diabetes affect weight loss?
Wanda247 replied to AchieveGoals's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi...I had surgery on 8/29/18, I am diabetic as well, I am actually losing weight rather quickly 10 lbs in the first 7 days, 21 lbs down since surgery and my A1C was bad also, almost 10, since surgery I have come off all meds and my blood sugars are between 100-120, my endocrinologist took me off the meds. As I lose more weight and exercise my numbers should get even better. I don’t eat many carbs but berries and such a small amount, I choose less carbs because I want to have good control of my blood sugars. I wish you the best! -
Hi there, in my booklet that my team gave me stated nothing with aspirin or aleeve they do recommend Tylenol so that’s all I take since having surgery...it is confusing though, everyone says something different. Hope that helps 🙂

It happened to me early on, day 2 and 3 in the hospital...I was so emotional and started having a panic attack. The nurse was amazing, talked me through it. I was okay after a few days after getting home. Hopefully it passes soon

All I want to eat is cheese!
Wanda247 replied to sleevedllama's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
That sounds really good! I'm going to try it when I'm able to eat more. Thanks -
I had my surgery on 8/29/18 and my team did not require pre-op diet either, I just could not have anything to eat or drink after 12:00 midnight before the day of surgery. Each team is different that's all and they have their reasons. No wrong or right way...I was just fine. I was very nervous too which is pretty normal. Once I got to the hospital and prepped they gave me something in my IV to relax me and it was over so quick. I wish you all the best, you will be fine.

I love the chicken salad, it’s very tasty and a quick go to meal, easy to go down

Ok...I just need to say this because it bothers me. I've been on Bariatricpal for almost 5 months, I read a lot of posts and I've received a wealth of information here and truly appreciate members taking out time to answer questions, attaching research articles to back up their statements, comforting, encouraging and the list goes on. Some of the people that are asking for help DO NOT EVEN have the decency to respond back to the people that are taking their time out to answer questions, some just post a question and seem to dissapear?? Really. I really don't give advice here because I'm still a work in progress and I am one of those that do ask questions from time to time and I really appreciate each and everyone of you for taking the time out to respond back when you are just as busy as the rest of us are. PLEASE PEOPLE do not just be takers....show your appreciation to the ones responding by at least acknowledging that you did read their response...These are people that have been through the process and understand it!! we are tying to get to where they are. I APPRECIATE YOU!! You know who you are

Congrats, You look great!! Now you have to change your username...No more fat guy
-
I don't think I would have made it to surgery without the help from you all, I was afraid as well. I feel great 2.5 weeks post-op and 20 lbs down. YES!! You are so kind as well. I always enjoy reading your posts

Hi...I’m almost 3 weeks post op, sleeved on 8/29/18 and feeling great. Before surgery I never really burped/belched, It happens when I am full from eating a meal, I’m glad that I have that sign to let me know, but I feel the restriction as well. My Team advanced me to the soft stage by the way...Just curious if this is going to be a part of the new normal for me? Lol 😝 Even with the burping this is by far the best decision ever!!
-
@Frustr8 the wal-mart closest to me didn’t have those but I will check another one. Thanks
-
@frustr8 I’m so sorry that you had a couple of bad days, it’s called trial and error, we will find out what our new pouches like and dislike as we go along our journey...you said even after all of that you still have no regrets...you rock!! Stay positive my friend and we shall succeed 🤗🤗
-
@Frustr8 where did you find pineapple sf popsicles? I love pineapple, I can only find the standard ones, red, orange and purple. 😜

This goes to show how each surgeon is so different. Below is what my Team allows after week 4.

Does Belching/Burping Ever Stop?
Wanda247 replied to Wanda247's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@sillykitty Thank you! That is good to know, hopefully I will get over it soon to. -
@JuliaC110918 omg yes I had the same thing! I immediately called the nurse at my doctors office and asked what did they use down there and she said maybe some of the iodine used to sterilize the surgery area may have dripped down there, she suggested that I use the baby rash cream desitin and it worked. Same scenario as you, I noticed it a day or two after I got home from the hospital.

Find a new doctor who will support your weight loss surgery, my doctor was very happy for me when I told her I wanted to have WLS as she should be because she knows how hard I was struggling with trying to lose weight on my own and all of my medical issues. You pay him not the other way around...just my opinion because I’m a no nonsense person, I have no problem changing if they are not supporting me...the insurance company has enough requirements, you don’t need more on top of that. maybe others here have some better suggestions. I wish you the best!

Surgeon Appreciation Post (Long)
Wanda247 replied to GreenTealael's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@GreenTealael your story is so touching and it shows how courageous you are. You took your life back and got in control...everyone has a story, maybe one day I’ll have the courage to share mine. Thank you for being so open and honest. -
@GreenTealael Yes you are pretty in both but I’m sure you feel better in the second one health wise...those collar bones though 🔥

How long should I pause between sips?
Wanda247 replied to TX4everLinds's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@TX4everLinds it does get better. I’m 11 days post-op and I can pretty much drink normal after about day 6 or 7. I take sips of water every few minutes and sometimes even sooner. Just keep trying and you will get there. I wish you all the best -
For all who need a kick up the butt!
