Only 3lbs down since surgery
Wanda247 replied to Lovingmyselfforever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Right after surgery please just concentrate on healing and letting the swelling go down, your health is more important than the scale. I actually didn’t think about the scale right away, when I went for my first post op visit that’s when I found out how much I had lost. Trust me the weight is going to come off but it takes time and patience. Everyone’s been there. Your new sleeve is a tool to help you lose weight, stick to the plan and do your part and the sleeve will do its part. I wish you all the best on your journey! -
Hannah I get you, my only son and child suffers from a lot of the things that you’ve mentioned, but you have to try and think more positive, you’ve lost a lot of weight so you’re on the right tract. We all have our struggles but dwelling on it only makes it worse. You will have bad days but a lot of good days as well. Take one day at a time and you will be fine. Remember everyone has struggles but he that endures to the end is the one that will be saved. God knows your struggles and he’s with you. Keep the faith.

3 week stall....every month?!
Wanda247 replied to blackswan's topic in Duodenal Switch Surgery Forum
@blackswan I think you are doing great!! It’s only been 2 months for me post op and I seem to have the same pattern as you so far, losing a lot at one time then stalling 3 weeks. like you I’m following the plan and the weight is coming off, whether it’s daily or once a month. Keep doing what you’re doing and you will get to goal, my team told me that I will lose the most weight between 12 and 18 months, they never mentioned 6 months. Chin up, you got this!! 😉 -
Hi there, I’m lactose intolerant here is what I used. The iso I mixed with lactaid ff milk or the milks that margoCL and Briswife15 suggested those work for me as well. I wish you the best

You're right, it does. I won't have it to often either for that same reason.

@S@ssen@ch I tried salad again today and was able to eat almost 1/2 of a side garden salad (just lettuce and a few cherry tomatoes) at wendys. But I DO have restriction and felt really full.
-
I only had a few bites and I felt so bloated, for a few hours. I will wait to try it again. It’s really sad because I’ve been craving salad 😔

Don't overthink things...it's the total package that he's interested in. You're very intelligent and beautiful. Besides you have no plans on going backwards. Enjoy and allow yourself to be treated like the queen that you are. You deserve it 😉

You can have tuna, pureed chicken salad, I loved it when I was on the soft stage, cottage cheese with fruit, avocado, deli meat rolled up with cheese sticks, hummus, peanut butter...do a google search and you will get so many ideas as well. I wish you all the best and Congrats on your surgery. -
You're welcome

What to order when you aren't drinking alcohol
Wanda247 replied to elcee's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
You can order water with extra lemon, squeeze the lemon in the water and add a half pack of splenda or any low cal sweetener and walaaah! you have lemonade. -
I make several meats and veggies on Sundays such as ground chicken or ground turkey burgers, grilled chicken thighs and I freeze them. I’ll grab one each day and may add a slice of tomatoe to a burger or avocado, chicken I’ll bring some cauliflower rice or spinach and I usually cook seafood once a week...shrimp, scallops and fish and mix it up and take that for lunch as well. I make chicken salad and tuna salad also and usually bring multi grain crackers to eat with those. I like a variety. Get creative and enjoy 😊

Post Op Pain
Wanda247 replied to Sabrina Tanner Edmundson's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It’s gas Sabrina, that pain is worst than the incision pain, mine was so bad that I went to the ER, I thought something really serious was wrong, had a Cat scan and blood work done, came back normal...I felt so embarrassed 😩 the next day, the gas was released and I felt like a new woman and that happened 4 weeks post op...who would’ve thought that I’d still have gas after all that time. -

I agree with Rosie T, such a nice post, I’m about 1 week behind you and I understand exactly how you feel...you are doing really well, I’ve read a lot of your post and I commend you so much for having self control because you cook for your family and I can imagine it can be hard especially making some of your favorite meals that you all used to enjoy together...kudos to you!! I only have to worry about myself as my son is grown and on his own. But like I always say one day at a time. Congratulations hon, you are doing great!! Keep up the good job. We got this!!! 🙌🏾
