My surgery is May 30, 2018 and I can not take this 2 weeks pre-op liquid, very hard and my shakes that I got from my doctors office has a funny taste. What kind of shakes are you drinking for pre op

Where are all the 50 something bypass patients?

I'm 60 and getting ready to retire. I also have Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and all the assorted aches and pains that come with age. My surgery is scheduled for 5/23/18. What I'm scared of is that it normally takes us older folks longer to heal than younger folks. But since I've started the liquid diet , I've already lost nine pounds and have stopped taking my quick acting insulin. Looking forward to hopefully getting to stop most of my prescription meds and feeling better! -

May 23rd surgery date. I have been on my liquid diet for 5 days now and have lost almost 10 pounds. Feel like dog poo poo. Not much longer though!!! -
Did everyone go through a liquid pre-op diet?

I am doing a protein shake and clear liquid diet for one week and a sugar free clear liquid diet for 2 days before surgery. My problem is I can't find a protein shake that isn't the most disgusting thing I've ever put in my mouth! Anyone have any suggestions? I'm on my fourth day of clear liquids.
