I'm 37 days post OP, and I'm still nauseous. I'm hoping mine goes away soon.

Charlisnewchapter got a reaction from MyLife2.0 in Difficulties eating, and taking medications
Hi, this is my first time on here, and hopefully I can find people I can relate to.

I have vertical sleeve surgery on April 10th, 2018. I am only 37 days post- op, but I still struggle very much eating or drinking. Drinking Water hurts my stomach. I try to drink a Protein Shake, and my stomach starts tossing and turning. I instantly feel sick. I never thought that drinking WATER would make me sick, yet here I am. I'm also having difficulties taking my Vitamins, and my medications. I really try to not skip any vitamins/medications, but sometimes my stomach cannot handle it. I'm on medications for bipolar disorder, so I can't just stop taking my meds, but some days, I feel too sick. I'm not sure what to do.

Is this normal? Should I be worried? I'm thinking I need to call my doctor Monday morning. I'd really like to hear other people if they were also struggling...

Charlisnewchapter got a reaction from Frustr8 in Rny may 22 2018 anyone else? Preop liqud diet is torture
I had VSG, and I had a two week liquid diet. I was miserable, and depressed, but you have to keep going. You have to find something to keep you focused. You got this.

I was sleeved on 4/10. About week before surgery, I started to make a list of everything that I wanted to bring to the hospital. What pair of PJS, chargers, pillow, blanket, etc. The day before, I packed using the list I made. I also made a list of all the movies/shows that I wanted to catch up on, so when I got home, I didn't have to search. A few days before, I went to the store and bought everything I needed after surgery. Bottle waters, Protein Shakes, Jello, any house hold items I needed, etc.
You'll be fine. No need to be nervous Just prepare everything before!

10000% normal. I was in pain for about 3/4 weeks. I also didn't get my energy back until that time, too. Completely normal.

Part of having this surgery is changing your life style. You don't need to be eating out. Not trying to sound harsh or anything, but if you don't change your ways, there's no point of having surgery..
