  1. Wow! I've been gone from the forums for a while and didn't realize how much I missed the positivity and support! My NSV is that a neighbor from way down the block stopped me in the street this week to ask me if I'd lost a lot of weight because I "look amazing"! It was nice to hear. Off to read up on everyone's posts and update my stats, etc.

  2. I'm at only 61# down now, because I just lost a lb (one! pound) after a month-long stall. I need to get back to it, because I was on a big project and think I ate way too much salt and didn't exercise during most of that month - work work work. But I have to stop letting myself fall back into bad (sedentary) habits. Still, 61# feels awesome! I'm down to a size 12 and love pics of me these days with friends. So much energy and feel great! I'm already looking into skin surgery for my arms, though.

    Two NSVs from this weekend!

I was able to buy knee-high boots from PAYLESS!! EXCUSE ME???! Last year Torrid's boots were too small for my calves.

Also, I can cross my legs while sitting! I can't actually remember the last time I was able to do this. I don't think I even could in high school! YAAAYYYY!!

    woohoo!!!! so awesome!!!!

  4. Hey, does anybody want to share their non-food rewards? I hit 60 lbs down today and I'm going to take a long lunch break from work and go see Night School. I've also just scheduled a massage and facial. Whee!

Anybody else? I'd love to build a list of non-food rewards that we can turn to when we deserve a treat but cheesecake is NOT it!

    xo

So it is a daily mental struggle to stay positive and remind myself that this was never a quick fix

Mandy!!! You are 81 lbs down!! How amazing is that?? And it won't come back!! How long did it take you to lose 81 lbs before? Focus on that and tell yourself how amazing you are because I think you're a rock star!!!

    I'm 5'11" and 170 is a size 10,

I think clothes sizes have expanded since I weighed 170 17 years ago? I was a size 10 at 170 lbs. Today I put on a size 12 old Navy pair of jeans (snug but comfortable) at 212 lbs. (which is 60 lbs down today, WOOT!!). I know it won't take me 52 lbs to get from size 12 to size 10. This is weird. I'll be a size 6 at 170# at this rate...

    Hi everyone,

I keep reading horror stories about Sleevers past 5 or 10 years. I’m wondering if there are any of veteran sleevers with no revisions, major miserable side effects, issues, weight gain from expanded sleeve, that are still thriving and happy with their choice? I’m a week post op and everyone’s horror stories are causing me major regrets and fear.

where are you reading these? I haven't seen anything like that and now i want to know...

I am down 118 total since my surgery on May 10. I’ve had zero issues since surgery minus the inability to eat scrambled eggs and lunch meat. Both things make me vomit every time I try them. Outside of that, no issues.

I have been working out with weights since mid June when I was cleared to start lifting. I’ve been walking 5+ miles a day for the last few months. I started with half a mile, then a mile and very quickly jumped to 5 miles. Once you get past the first six weeks of walking it becomes so easy. Something I never would have said presurgery where my weight on my joints made small walks a chore.

Now instead of adding miles to my walks I add speed. I just walk faster because I don’t have time to walk for hours on end. This past week I added some hills to my walks by doing different more hilly routes.

You are kind of a rock star!! And inspiring! Congrats!

Congrats everyone! We are all doing great it seems like! :D

Down 58! Super excited, even though i thought i was losing slow!

Struggling with low energy and motivation to exercise! Whats everyone else doing right now for their exercise routine?

I hate going to the gym so I started taking much longer walks every morning.

I started the process for VSG in December, weighing in at 241. On the day of surgery, I was 229. Today, five months later, I am 184. I am officially "over weight", instead of "morbidly obese". At a height of 5'6 and pretty athletic, the doctors want me at a weight of 160. I will consider myself successful once I hit 170, but the weight has stalled lately. I knew I was due for a long stall, but it sucks that it happens when I am getting so close to my goal weight. Anyhow...that is my update. [emoji3]

Congrats!! I'm going for a weight over my doctor's idea, too. I was 150 during most of my pre-kids adult life. I figure I can add 10 lbs for each kid I had,LOL, and be good at 170. I'm 5'11" and 170 is a size 10, so I can't wait!! fingers crossed for us both.

Hello! Hope everyone is doing well :) I am down a whopping 59lbs since surgery which is nice! I am feeling great. It appears I’ve stalled for the past 3 weeks right at 201.3 which is sooooo frustrating! I just want to hit wonderland 😭 but I’ll get there eventually.

I am comfortably wearing size 14s though which is freaking amazeballs though.

So how’s everyone doing with their eating? I made mini cupcakes over the weekend for a party and learned others are 100% right that sugar makes you crave more sugar. I nipped that in the bud real quick.

Me, too!! (on the 14s, not the cupcakes, LOL) Congrats!

    I feel great!

So many small victories, too many to mention but I will never regret having this surgery, it has saved my life.

I have gone from a size uk 26 to an 18! really chuffed with that and even better, a friend of mine has just given me a load of brand new size 18 clothes which look fab on me, for my holiday to Greece next week :)

    Wow! Have fun!!

    Congrats on your loss!

I am a late April sleever, so almost May if that counts! April 27 so 4.5 months out. I am doing well except the GERD and random bouts of exhaustion. I am down 78 pounds since surgery and 152 from my highest. Have 50 more to go to get to my personal goal, happy to be so close but I know these last 50 won't be as easy. Hoping to squeeze everything I can out of the last month and a half of the "honeymoon" period.

    that's AMAZING!! Congrats!!

I weigh less than the weight listed on my driver's license and it wasn't the correct weight to begin with! Also, yesterday, I tried on size 10 pants just for the hell of it and they fit! I was so excited I bought two pair. Shopping is so much fun when you fit into everything you try on and have to decide what you like best instead of what fits. : )

that's so great!! I bought a dress and a sweater and I had to put the XLs back because I'm only in a L!! Was a 2X. I still automatically head to the plus-size division and have to course correct. Yay, us!

  15. Hey, May sleevers! How are you doing? Any updates? Progress? Frustrations? Successes?

I'm at 58 # down now (48 since surgery) and feeling amazing. So healthy! Trying on new clothes makes me happy! Frustrated sometimes that I can still eat very little at a time, but that's the whole point, so I tell myself to chill. :)

    How is everyone else?

2 months, 23 days since surgery. Life is really getting back to normal now. 41kg down from my January 2018 weight and 24.2kg down since surgery. Just dropped under 115 for the first time in years! Still, a long way to go from my goal but i'm getting there.
