    Don't pray for me

When I offer to pray for someone, it is not with malicious intent. It is what I and billions of other people feel is the right thing to do when we feel someone is in need. Most of the time that I pray for people, they don’t know about it. I am not offended that you are atheist. You should not be offended that I am a Christian. When a Christian offers to pray for you, take that as “I care for you.”. Because in fact, that is what they are telling you.
  2. I am sorry that you are going through this. I will not even claim to understand what you are going through. However any issues that you are having before surgery are not going to magically disappear after surgery. You are still going to want the foods that are not good for you. You just won’t be able to eat as much. If you do, you will literally make yourself sick. My advice is to step back, see your therapist and nutritionist. They can help you work through this. Surgery is important and I know you must be anxious to get there but a safe surgery is the most important. Please do not take unnecessary chances or risks. Your life may depend on it. I wish you much success.
  3. I did not have any problem with water. My daughter did though. She says that she still has problems once in a while. She is almost a year out. I do have problem with certain foods though. They don’t make me sick but I do feel like I ate too much after a couple of bites My daughter said it was because I ate too fast. That was not it though. I am very careful about the amount of time it takes to eat. Hope you feel better soon. I was one of the lucky ones. I did not have any problems with my surgery. I feel so bad for the ones who did.

    To tell coworkers or not?

I also told everyone. I have not heard one negative comment from anyone. If they are talking behind my back, that is ok. If anyone has anything to say negatively about the subject, that too is ok. I know that I thought it was the easy way out before I finally decided to go with the surgery. I understand where their thoughts come from. Naturally skinny people automatically think, just put down that fork. They have no idea and no matter what you do, they will never truly understand. Heck, even I don’t. I can’t live worrying about other people’s opinions of me. If they have a problem with it, well that is it. It is their problem. I will do whatever I have to do be healthy and happy. If friendships are lost, then it was a one sided friendship.
  5. I started out at 353 and lost 64 lbs before my surgery. Since surgery, 6 weeks ago today, I have lost 22 pounds. That is a whopping 86 pounds and some people seem to notice and others don’t. I honestly thought the weight would drop off faster since my calorie intake is so low. I guess 22 pounds is not bad in six weeks. Compared to the amount of time it took to lose the 64 pounds, it seems super good. I have come down 3 clothes sizes but when I look in the mirror, other than my thinning face, I see the same olé me. I know it took time to gain the weight but I just want it to go away, forever. It will happen, I just have to be patient. Keep at it everyone and congratulations for moving forward with your surgeries. Cheers to the new, improved, healthier you.

    Life with CPAP

I have severe apnea and can not sleep without my CPAP. If you keep your machine and filters clean, you should get use to it. I had trouble finding a mask that fit. Now that I have the perfect one for me, I love my CPAP. I will never get off of it due to the fact that I had apnea way before I gained weight. Please do not settle for an uncomfortable mask. Talk to your doctor about getting fitted for the correct one. One size does not fit all.
  7. Hi, my surgery was April 24 and all went well. I have had no problems whatsoever. No problems with eating drinking, pain or anything. Hope you all have had a successful surgery as well. Please let me know how you are doing. My weight loss is not what I expected but I am losing.

    Hair???

I have had a tremendous amount of hair loss and need to clean my brush every single day. I am finding hair in the shower and on my clothing. I was told it will eventually stop. I had very thick hair that needed thinning. Hopefully it will not get too thin.
  9. Trying to find out if anyone else has had a pinching pain after surgery. I am at one month out and I just recently started feeling a pinching pain in my abdomen.
  10. I just went for my 2 week post op today even though my surgery was 4/24. They told me to eat less than 600 calories a day. I too have stopped losing. I also saw that this is a very common thing especially around week 3. I was told not to get discouraged that it will start to come off. Just keep doing what you are supposed to do and I am sure you will be fine. I have only lost 10 lbs since my surgery but people are telling me that I look like I have lost weight.
