    It's a great feeling...

Isn't it crazy. I'm 36 days post, only down 30 so far. Threw away all my size 16, all of them!! I had nothing to wear going back to work. I usually just stuck the larger sizes in back of closet cuz i know I'd grow back in them some day!! And i did! Now my closet is empty. Gone. Shopping for clothes now that are disposable. Cuz i won't be in them in a month. I'm in a size 12, and some of those feel swimmy! I look at the "skinny girls" now looking at me with a jealous look instead of condescending look. You didn't post a photo, but I'm certain you look great. Just getting this far has shown me I'm worth more than anyone ever thought i was, I don't need their approval any longer, toughest thing we will ever do. Believe in yourself.

    Laxative- safe?

I'm 1 month post op today. Down 27. I'm always feeling bloated. TMI- need to really poop, not these little rabit turds. Is it safe to take a gentle laxative. It would be nice going to work next week feeling not so cramped!

    Thx, I'll try that
  6. Anyone else experience naseau after protein drinks. Last 2 days, 2 weeks post op. Cramping, wish I could have after I finish a bottle. Absolutely nothing else affects me like this. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Non-food rewards

Every 10 pounds I buy a sack of flour and set it in a stack next to fridge. I'm 2 bags in since surgery (Sept 27) Good motivator when I want to open fridge for a unnecessary bite! Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

No loss since came home from hospital?

I had my sleeve on 27th. Me also, no weight loss, 13 days post OP. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app
  13. I joined instacart, a delivery service in my area. Saved the day! I was also alone, I could drive the day I came home, but didn't feel like it. I did take a daily walk to the grocery that delivers for me, but only to get my steps in and buy a beverage. I can order what I want every other day or so. Nice option. Good luck on ur surgery. Day 2

Had surgery, sleeve, 2 days ago. I'm amazed how my movement is like normal. They don't tell you about the gas pain though. Extra night in hospital cuz the gas floated to my right shoulder, blood pressure was 195 over 120 cuz of that pain. Normally 130 over 72? Got it down with codeine. Otherwise Tylenol had taken care of any discomfort, just 1 tablet of the narcotic. It's over! Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

  18. I'm 5 days post op. I'm feeling so terrific, even thought about going back work. My kids were angry about that. I don't feel hunger yet, just desire to have food! Years ago a nutritionist said that if you crave something, the craving is satisfied after 2 bites, then you are just eating it. Wish I had listened to that advice years ago, I might not be at this place in life. Good advice I'm going to try to follow now. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Feeling frustrated

I made French onion soup today, I'm 5 days post op. Strained the onions, amazing. Did same with egg drop soup yesterday!! Get creative. My nut was very supportive of the ideas. Wish I had done it pre op. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Liquid diet phase.. loose stools?

Post op 5 days. Diarrhea and a little cough from the tubes don't mix well!! Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app
  21. Maybe a support group from your clinic? I had lots of support, except from my mom. The person that mattered most. I had surgery 5 days ago and day one, she came around. I had my surgeon chat with her. My main reason to have surgery to put my diabetes in remission. She felt my complications with that horrid disease were better than my new challenges. Give them a chance, they will see the positive changes and be so proud. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

  23. Before anyone says to me "this isn't a diabetes site" I totally understand. Not trying to get diabetic support!! But, my main health concern is my diabetes (type 2). Just wanted some input from fellow-diabetic weight loss surgery champions. I am still in the decision making process, haven't even had my first consult with a nutritionist yet. My BF of 20 years is a double amputee (type 1) so I've seen the end result. My BGs are good, but I'm aware that the older I get the more difficult that will be to control. I'm about willing to do most anything to bring that under more permanent control. My A1C started at 13.11. I'm now controlling it at 6.4. Haven't been over 7 for 3 years. I've was diagnosed about 3.5 years ago. I've been able to drop 60 pounds in that same period but have plateaued, with 60 - 80 pounds to go. Actually moved back up the scale this past cold winter. Nephropathy started for me about 3 months ago. My pharmacist daughter said I won't get that because I'm so controlled. Well, my disease proved her wrong. I think if I can get my weight to a healthier level for me I might be able to escape some of the horrors of the diabetic disease. A diabetic coworker had weight loss surgery 10 years ago, dropped most of her excess weight. She rebounded and has regained plus. It's very sad. I spoke with her briefly this week and she said that they don't tell you that you can't ever eat carbs again. She said every time she eats carbs she gains weight. I do not know what surgery process she did. I'm concerned about her story as I have a strong tendency to go hypo if I don't eat at least 100 carbs a day. I know my body pretty well now as it concerns my diet. Kind of a science experiment some days!! Has it been easier for you to control your BGs after your weight loss surgery? Have you been able to get off some of these horrific meds (I'm on Metformin and Victoza)? Does the stricter carb diet make you go Hypoglycemic more often? How many carbs are allowed in your diets (I eat about 130 to 150 per day)? You all have so many success stories here. I'm an information gatherer and here seems the best place to ask these questions. I appreciate the time you take to help me out!

    Worried that I am failing

From one queen to another, its okay to have a snack. Make it an event, make it half what it would have been pre-surgery, and enjoy. Get back on the plan afterwards. Don't make it so stressful. We are all going to have temptations. We just need to allow ouselves not to be perfect. I started my pre-surgery liquid diet. Struggling awful. Came online and found out again what it means to have support.

Post op pain - be honest

You all are great. Sharing can feel risky. Im scheduled for Sept 27. Found out yesterday that they had a OR opening, so they asked if i could br ready. Ready? I was born ready! Sorry, cheezy saying from way back. Anxious and at times terrified. You guys got my back, and I'm feeling a bit more relaxed.
