Today is Day 5 on real pre op diet, has been a difficult day. Today is my day off, and I felt tiredness and hunger for the first time after starting the diet. Can’t wait to get back to work and keep my mind occupied.

It’s been tough for me too. I’ve been trying to drink as much Water and taking in as much Protein as I can. Almost there, one week to go

OK - The surgery date list is up: https://tinyurl.com/SummerWLS

I've sorted the list by date so everyone can find their surgery twin - there are lots of matches! For those that have a time frame in mind but haven't yet scheduled, I've listed your time as tentative. For anyone that has posted but not shared a date yours is listed as TBD.

You can edit your information on this sheet anytime. If I've missed you, you're new, or when you get your surgery date just go into the sheet and add your info!

I have also added a column for surgery type. If you want to share, you can go in and add the type of surgery you're having. I didn't fill this one in for anyone as I know some people don't want to share that info.

*Certainly if anyone doesn't feel comfortable having their info listed, please let me know and I'll remove you (but you'll definitely still be welcome here!).

I'll be placing this link in my signature so everyone can find it easily.

Thank you for putting this together

Because most Protein supplements are whey Protein concentrate, or whey protein isolate based and neither dissolves very well, especially in hot liquids.

The collagen hydrolysate is a different animal all together, derived from pure beef Gelatin, and dissolves well, similar to how benefibre dissolves in your tea/coffee/other liquids :) no lumpy bits in my fresh coffee this morning (after stirring well with a fork for 2 mins).

I'm feeling a bit seedy this morning after a bad sleep and I think I'm coming down with hubby cold that has kept him in bed most of the past 3 days :( I'm making myself some Breakfast now and will get more healthy Soup into me later on. Might even have a nap.

EDIT: lols, my ticker is broken? It says I'm at 103.9 kilos but my little boat has snuck all the way over to the goal position of 60kg on the sunset. I'm doing well little sailboat, but we still have a ways to go! hehe

Thank you. I’m going to order some now

Look for "collagen hydrolysate" supplements derived from beef Gelatin (bonus, also helps with joints and skin elasticity).

Here in Australia I just had my Peptipro collagen Hydrolysate deliver today, and I"m looking forward to adding it to my morning Decaf coffee and evening cup of decaf tea. 15g product = 14.5g Protein and dissolves in cold or hot Water. No sure if this brand available overseas, but with the popularity of paleo, there should be several suppliers of similar products over there.

How is the Protein powder dissolving in tea? My current protein powder is very lumpy

My doctors kept saying I was ready, so I met with plastic surgeon. He said I'm perfect candidate now, and he's ready when I am. He even said no Lipo because all I have is skin not fat. I had my surgery in June 2017. I've been maintaining since January basically. I'm 142 pounds. I was about 237 pounds. He's suggesting Tummy Tuck and breast lift. What's your opinions?20180512_164058.jpg 20180511_175545.jpg

If you are ready go for it.

  6. I’m worried too, I think it’s natural to worry that you’ll be the one it won’t work for.

I am hoping I’ll have the discipline to not weight myself more than once a week, if I can’t stop, I’ll ask my husband to hide them for a month or so lols.

i do have a pair of pants that I would like to fit into at 1 month post surgery, another at 2 months ect.... at the moment I can’t zip up the 1 month pair, and can’t button the 2nd month pair, so they are doable goals

  7. Hey there. I’m not telling anyone, only my husband knows. I have started laying down the ground work for when people start to notice. Rejoined the gym, walking at lunch and have told people I’m dieting. I suffer from reflux now, my surgeon is fixing this as part of the procedure.

  8. Hello. I’m a June sleever. I’m starting my Optifast Monday 21 May in preparation for the 4 June. Very excited and a little nervous. The process seems very comprehensive in the US compared to the process I did here in Australia. The pre-work here was to attend a group information session and have my doctor to write a referral. My Insurance doesn’t require anything additional. Health insurance is very different in Australia though as it is based on the type of insurance you want and the amount you pay.

I suppose I will just take the bad with the good. I fully intend to do everything the doctors tell me to in order to ensure I am successful in my weight loss. The negatives of staying overweight are much worse than not being able to scarf down a big meal.

I have a birthday booking 4 weeks post my surgery at my favourite restaurant. I know I won’t be able to indulge like I used to, but I also won’t look like a split sausage in my jumpsuit either! It’s going to be really tough as they serve the best oysters and I doubt I’ll be able to eat even one at that stage. I am mourning that loss.

  10. I’m scheduled for 4th June and can’t wait! I am not sharing with friends or family that I’m having the procedure. My husband knows and that’s about it. I’ve had a few procedures over the last year, so am hoping people will assume the weight loss is part of all the changes I’ve been making for better health. I have quit smoking and have been opting out of morning tea cake by using the non smoking as the reason. You know, don’t want to swap cigarettes for cake/cookies. I’ve also bought some larger size clothes to get people use to seeing me in baggy clothes. By the time I’m back to my ideal body shape, no one will really notice it was quick
