  1. Hey all ... had surgery on Tuesday to remove my band and possibly convert to sleeve. My scar tissue was way too much to do the sleeve and they had a lot of trouble getting the port part of the band to budge out. Post op pain has been horrible. Considering how much they had to manipulate the larger incision to get the port out, I’m suffering more than the usual patient. Not sure I still want to go through with the sleeve and have a fourth surgery. I am healing and recovering though and the freedom of no pain or acid reflux from the band has been great though!
  2. Hi! I haven’t been here for a while. My date kept changing and now my surgery is TOMORROW. I’m hoping it’s a successful lap band removal revision to the sleeve. If not, just having the band out will be a great relief. Although, I’m hoping they can do both in one surgery. Anxiety has really been driving me a little crazy as I’ve had many insurance issues (they didn’t approve my hospital, now at a hospital I’ve never been seen at.) Today I’m on full clear liquids and cleansing... it stinks but my mind is on the surgery so I’m not concentrating too hard on hunger.
  3. I am also going from band to sleeve. Insurance pending surgery date. I had my band in 2011, so I am not sure if they will be able to do the sleeve in the same surgery. I am praying I have no scar tissue. I never got the band filled because of a traumatic incident that happened at my first fill. It did work for the first 6 months but years later, I have awful acid reflux. I am commenting so hopefully we can get some answers together??
  4. My surgery date got bumped up to June 11th! Just pending insurance approval, fingers crossed!! I am so excited for our new journey. I know we can all do this!
  5. Hi All - My surgery is July 2018, I am a revision patient converting from a lap band to a sleeve. Please send positive vibes and thoughts that my scar tissue is minimal and I can have the surgery once. I am vegan and I exercise 3-5 times a week. I am mostly anxious about the liquid diet and how I am going to get all the nutrition my body needs. My doctor's administrative team should be sending all my information out to my insurance next week, wish me all the luck!
