    Bypass

Hi, Frustr8!! You bet I'm excited! Been waiting 10 months. I start my liver shrinking diet day after tomorrow, and the surgery is a week from Wednesday! I'm ready to start a new chapter of my life and get my health back on track. Thanks for thinking of me. I love your posts!!

    Psych Evaluation

I was honest. I have Bipolar disorder and a history of eating disorders including anorexia and bulimia. I also didn't have a great childhood. My psych eval wasn't that bad, and although I was honest, the psychiatrist recommended me for bariatric surgery. I have supports in place, and am medically stable. Best wishes to you! It will be fine! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  3. I've been away from these forums for a few weeks as we're packing and getting ready to move in 3 weeks. Anyway...my surgery is scheduled for Wednesday March 27, 2019. Is there a March group up and running?? Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    March Bypass Buddies

You should start a new thread of you want some answers to your question. But basically, most sleeve to GB revisions are due to reflux issues. Sometimes other reasons, too. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    March 27th surgery date

I think having headached is perfectly normal. As for your other question, no idea. My surgeon recommends using water for powered protein shakes during the pre op diet. Hood luck!! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

  11. Yeah, I'm with you! My surgery is on March 27th, and it is a big deal!! Ive also had a lot of surgeries in my life. Im sorry your last surgery was so complicated. Believe it or not, bariatric surgery is really, really safe these days, and surgons do a lot of them. Nonetheless it is natural to worry a little bit. I really think all will go great for you. You've got this!!

    How long between “meals”

Just curious, but are those your surgeon's instructions? I know all surgeons are different, but I will still be on pureed food at 3 1/2 weeks, and can't eat solid regular food for 7 weeks. Maybe your new pouch is telling you it is too soon for such heavy food. Now, if it is on your plan, maybe you ate too quickly or too much volume. Good luck, and I hope it doesnt happen again!
  13. First, leaks are rare, and second, I hear that if you have a leak and try to drink it is very unusually painful. Good luck and try mot to worry!
  14. Hi, what in particular are you very scared about? The life style change that we have to make? I think if you do a lot of reading on this site you'll find a lot of success stories and support. You'll make it through just fine, and if you follow your surgeon's directions to the T, things will go smoothly. Hang in there and don't fret so much!!

    March 27th surgery date

Hi, my GB is March 27th. There are a bunch of us having surgery that day. I don't start my liver shrinking diet until one week before. I'm a little nervous. but mostly really ready to get this going and begin my new life. I have horrible arthritis in my knees, and I'm hoping that with some weight loss the pain will get better.

When did you go back to work?

My surgery is March 27th and I'm taking almost 4 weeks off. I, too, wanted time to adjust to a new pouch and I get dizzy on few calories so I wanted to be good and acclimated before I went back. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  20. I have Anthem BCBS and also had the 6 month requirement. There isn't a way to " Work around " it as if you want your insurance company to pay for it you have to jump through their hoops. The time goes fast, but it is a bit frustrating! My surgery is March 27th and I started this process last May! I'm thrilled I have insurance coverage! March 27th surgery date

Hi, DavidP, my preop physical is the 13th of March, but I don't have to start the diet until one week before the surgery. I'm relieved. I'm sure we'll all do fine, although I am a little nervous.

    Sleeve or Bypass?

Hi! You didn't make any mistakes! There are quite a few threads on here about choosing between sleeve and gastric bypass. Here's one - https://www.bariatricpal.com/applications/tapatalk/index.php?/topic/423101-How’d-you-Choose?-Sleeve-v.s.-Bypass? I chose bypass because I have reflux and my surgeon believes that the sleeve usually makes it worse. I am a little scared about having my intestines rerouted, but I need to do this, and I believe the bypass is best for me. Do your research, and I wish you all the best.
