What kind of premier protein do you like best? I love my ninja blender. I’m not familiar with nectar protein. What does it taste like? I like your plan of how you get in 60 and 60!On 06/28/2018 at 18:33, Fallinfast said:
I have a nutrininja and I take my Premier Protein add it to the 30 oz cup, I add two scoops of necter Protein and fill it with ice. I do this twice a day. That's 60 Protein and 60 oz Fluid. I drink 20 oz of Water at night 30 mins after my puree. I can only handle stuff like hummus, refried Beans and mashed avocado. Usually 5 or 6 bites and done. I've only lost 4 lbs in 2 weeks so I'm fine sticking to the Premier Protein for now.

What kind of unflavored Protein Powder do you use? I’ve been wondering about using it. It really doesn’t change the flavor of food?On 06/08/2018 at 00:32, BajanSleeve said:
Get the unflavoured Protein Powder and put it in your regular drinks and Soups, you can put it in anything you eat, yogurt, tea, whatever. Has NO taste but the Protein is there. Have you tried that?

I adore Peanut Butter. I’ve been using powered peanut butter. What exactly are you putting in your smoothies, especially the peanut butter one?On 06/11/2018 at 04:01, SydneySleever said:
You’re definitely not the only one. My nutritionist had me make smoothies during the liquid phase and allowed me to had a bit of PB which really helped. My fav was banana, milk and some sugar and salt reduced Peanut Butter. -
I could have written this post word for word. It makes me scared that this was a lot of money for close to 20 pounds. 😔On 06/13/2018 at 18:48, Brassapple said:
I had my sleeve on June 1st and have only lost 10 pounds since then. I lost 8 pounds on the pre op diet for a total loss of 18 pounds. I am 48 years old. I read all the time about how the weight is just falling off other people but it’s not for me. I am always hungry. I can eat about 3/4 cup of Soup with no problem. I drink my Water and Protein. I’m starting to think that my surgeon didn’t cut enough of my stomach. I feel like I’ve made the biggest mistake of my life. -
Since you still have 12 days then you should call on Monday and verify. I had to do one and I’m glad I did. It helped me know what to do for afterwards. It is also good to help shrink your liver prior to surgery. Even if your doctor doesn’t require one, you can do it on your own. I would recommend it.

How are you feeling now? I’m hoping that you are feeling better by now. I didn’t have a hernia repair but I did have my gallbladder out. This morning was the first time I didn’t wake up with terrible acid reflux.
-
I’m feeling like that as well but I’m just a few days out from surgery. I hope you feel better soon.

Good luck. Take the pain meds they offer you and ask for gas medicine.

I am taking something every morning. I just didn’t think it would be this bad. Yuck

I had surgery on Monday. Anyone else have bad acid in the mornings? I have to take my depression and anxiety meds in the morning and each morning I feel almost nauseated. Also, my calf muscles ache. Any tips or tricks?

I had surgery 24 hours ago. I feel good now and pray it continues. Not going to lie, the gas was painful. If you haven’t had surgery yet, take the pain meds they offer the first day. Stay ahead of the pain. I didn’t and I struggled because of it. Hoping to go home today.

We have the same surgery date, tomorrow is my last shake day and Sunday is Clear Liquids and bowel prep. I am looking forward to surgery just so this pre-op diet can end. I have been starving myself since the 28th. My resting heart rate is now 44. I was finally able to move some more, getting 15,000-20,000 steps in, but then stopped losing weight. My shin splints are almost all the way better, I just have to walk slowly and pay attention to my mechanics, going 2.0 on the treadmill. I know surgery is scary, but I think you are in good hands and will be okay. We can do this together. I report at 8:45am, but my surgery is scheduled for 11:00am. I am assuming they will probably be running late. It is the middle of the night and I just finished a cup of broth hoping it will put me to sleep again...
Today is also my last day on shakes, but I do get to have a regular meal tonight. By regular meal, I mean high Protein with veggies only. Tomorrow is liquids but mine don't have to be clear. I'll be able to have the Protein Shakes. I should be done with surgery by the time you go in. I have to get there at 5:30 and surgery is at 7:30. It might take a little longer because it is removing the lapband, taking out the gall bladder, and then doing the sleeve. There is a posibility that I also have a hernia so it might be four things in one.
What part of Texas do you live in? I live close to Victoria, which is close to the coast.

phone/watch for timer (pill taking & drinking)
crystal light; I keep it everywhere. Mixes well with my Premier Protein clear & gives it a better taste
my hydro flask bottles; they have the perfect sip lid (no straws allowed for me)
Plastic condiment containers; I am on soft food and only allowed 1-2 ounces of food at a time and these are super handy and cheap on Amazon or Walmart.
Digital scale!! Measuring food is so vital. I purchased 2 (one for home, one for work). Going to order another that will fit in my purse for when I am further out and going out to eat
I can't use a straw either, but have a hard time getting enough liquids without one, and I'm still pre-op. Tell me more about the hydro flask bottles. What kind of lid do they have? Where can you get them?

During my six months of medical weight loss, I’ve done incredibly well and even lost 39 pounds. I don’t need anyone to shove food down my throat. I’m currently having trouble with eating properly all on my own! 🙁
I hope you are doing ok now that you are post-op. Or stats are similar, and I'm also from Texas, so we can follow each other.

I had all my pre-op stuff yesterday. My surgery is on Monday, June 11th. I'm nervous. I'm having a lapband removed, gall bladder removed, sleeve done, and possibly fixing a suspected hernia. I HATE surgery and am very scared.

I have today off for, lab, EKG, Chest X-Ray, and the much anticipated but dreaded nutrition appointment. So of course I woke up before the alarm went off. Husband is making an appointment today as well, he has COPD among other things and has finally admitted to feeling fatigued. It may be time for oxygen (at least at night). If my 3 kids and 47 years on this Earth have taught me anything, it is that if you don't take care of yourself, you cannot take care of everyone else.
I am a little anxious about the EKG. I have never had one and everyone on my Mom's side is obese and died of heart attacks in the age 50-65 range. Dad's side is obese too, but the women and him seem to have a magical longevity gene. He says we don't know about the men (except him) because they all died doing stupid stuff like getting shot. He will be 79 in June.
I'm also from Texas and will have my surgery on June 11th. I'm excited but have terrible anxiety when it comes to anything medical. My mom's side has a longevity gene but my dad died of a massive heart attack at 50. I'm 43 and just want to feel better and look better.
I'm glad to know someone else with similar concerns. I have all those tests the week before surgery. I hope you get good results.

My husband and I just had a talk tonight because this was a BIG concern for me. He is actually the better cook in the house, but he doesn't cook low fat. He said he would cook for he and the kids (16 and 13 years old) and I'll take care of myself.
That's a huge weight off my shoulder.

I know I'm going to struggle with the liquid diet pre- and post-op so I'm trying to prep myself now by doing a Protein Shake for Breakfast and lunch, at least 40 ounces of Water, and then eating an actual meal for dinner (baby steps).
I've been CRAVING soda big time, but I started putting crystal light and crush packets into my bottled Water when I get the sugar craving. When I'm craving a snack, I just kind of ignore that craving and drink water. Which probably isn't a good habit, but I'm trying to practice my self control plus I know dehydration is a big issue after surgery.
You could try meal prepping the night before or meal prepping for the week, and maybe get your family in on it. Doing crock pot meals, or starting on creamy broths and Soups. The nutritionist gave me a list of Proteins and vegetables that I should start eating. Hope this helps and good luck!!

I'm trying to get into a good routine of eating better. I started yesterday and did good until last night. Ugh. This morning I felt really bad and so I ate a bunch of Protein stuff and it helped me feel better. I'm a borderline diabetic, but no meds.
No more sodas for me. I am trying really hard to cut out snack between meals. My hard thing is what to cook / eat.
I'm a teacher so I guess I need to pack my lunch each day. Any suggestions? Then at night, my family of four has such diverse tastes and I know they won't like anything I make. I'm stressed about that.

Do you ladies have to watch more videos and take a pre-and post-op nutrition class? I'm nervous about the diet which I start mine May 24th!
I'm glad there will be someone a week before me. I have anxiety anyway so I'm sure this last month will be really hard. I'm also a teacher so I'll be frazzled from the end of the school year. LOL
