  1. Hi everyone! Thanks for the suggestions. I am on soft food phase this week and doing much better..: still not meeting the Protein intake but I think I will look into the genpro so I can add that to my Water. I appreciate all the suggestions and comments here. I will be a month out on the 23rd and have lost 35 pounds. It seems slow to me but I am still proud of my progress

  2. I am on 3 weeks post op and have done great but have noticed that I am so horse when I talk... it’s so strange and I’m sure not related. But it freaks me out because I don’t want it to be acid reflux related! I haven’t had symptoms since surgery so I’m unsure. Thanks for feedback

  3. My post op plan (I am 6 days out so no soft foods) allows Greek yogurt 1 oz. /hour and it has been a nice change of pace. I either mix various herbs/seasonings with it or put it in a mug of warm vegetable or chicken broth. About 4 oz. of that and 3 Protein Shakes and I am getting about 100 G Protein. I do thin out the shakes with Decaf or hot Water which makes them easier to take. Enjoy your daughter's graduation, is she a Longhorn?

Thanks for the suggestion! She is graduating with her associates from Austin Community College, not a longhorn yet!

  4. I was sleeved on 4/23 and I have had great success. Not been sick or nauseous but I am exhausted! Like more than I was fat!!! Also, I’m going to Austin for my daughters graduation and I can’t eat until the 14th so I’m upset. I went to my 2 week check up and she said absolutely not that I can’t go to soft food early. Has anyone eaten early? Also how did you get all your Protein in? She said I won’t get better or less weak without the protein but Lordy the shakes are driving me nuts lol thanks for suggestions

  5. Hi guys, I’m having surgery on Thursday. What is everyone’s thoughts about when to return to work. I’m a billing manager and I spend my days at my desk punching numbers, no heavy lifting or anything. I can do some work from home but I’m still curious as to everyone’s thoughts? I know people who have taken two weeks off, some have taken a week and some went back after like five days. Please share.

I had surgery on 4/23 and went back to work today working 1/2 a day today and the rest of this week. I have done fine and my job is at a desk as well.

  6. Just wanted to update anyone who has commented on this as to how my day has been. Woke up at 3am feeling like i was going to vomit EVERYWHERE. Took a nausea pill and laid back down, woke up felt even worse. Tried to sip on some Protein drink and it just sat there. Finally threw up 2 times and dear god the smell was this god awful sour smell (protein sitting on stomach, so hot lol). I couldnt take it anymore and asked me husband to take my to the ER, they did xrays, so much blood work and i do mean so much. Come find out its because i have NOT fully gone to the bathroom, i went a small amount a couple of days ago and i guess it wasnt enough. I was backed up and it was not allowing food to go anywhere. Not sure if this has happened to anyone else, but i am happy to know what it is in case it rears its ugly head again!!!

I hope you’re better today! Thinking of you
