My 3 year old leaves for his grandparents for a week today. I’m going to miss him. His first time with out mommy and daddy.

I just got my surgery time for Monday May 21. It’s at 1:00. So overwhelmed with excitement and nervous 😬 . I was hoping it would be early morning, but I’m happy just to be getting it done that day.

Hi! I know, I’m so excited. I just want to go to sleep and wake up on Monday lol. When they told me that it was cancelled and I was going to have to wait yet another week I broke broke my diet. There’s no way I was going to be on it for 3 weeks. Then I got back on it but I have been eating Protein [emoji87] idk but it seems to be working because I’ve lost 10lbs so far. Saturday and Sunday I’m going to do only liquids and and a laxative. How are you doing?

Hi, Monday is almost here!!! I feel like this week the days are longer this week in anticipation of the 21st. How’s your week going?

My doctor and nutritionist said we could take pill form Vitamins day 1.
My surgeon said chewable vitamins at first, and it can’t be the gummies because of the sugar. I guess it’s different for other practices. I purchased the liquid Tylenol because I was told it works faster than the pill.

Mine was submitted and I found out in 2 days by calling the insurance company. Once I found out I was approved and emailed my surgeons team and they scheduled me right then.

Surgery scheduled for June 4th! Doing all my pre-ops May 23rd! So excited and so nervous!
Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app
Congratulations [emoji322]

Yes!!!! My surgery is next Monday. Excited and so ready for it to be here. Chugging my crystal light and hoping for this week to fly by.

Congrats, glad to hear it went well. How nice to be home the next day! Hope your back feels better quick.

My nutritionist recommended this brand to me but the isolate Protein Powder. It’s not bad tasting either. I’m in my pre-op liquid phase now and surgery on the 21st of May.

Surprisingly I was able to choose if I wanted to go first which means I have to be there at 5:30 AM I decided that was best for me because I can’t imagine having nothing in my stomach all day until a 2-3pm procedure, lord! but my team has to call me too on Friday for all the specifics.
I’m going to be messaging you from my hospital bed asking if you went in yet [emoji23]

Please do!!! I’m so excited!!! You will probably be done before me. I’d love to have it that early but I think there’s others scheduled that day. My surgeon said it takes about an hour and half 🤞🏼. Add me on instagram if you have one @alljosgiosmom

Thank god because I have lost all my twins from may 15th [emoji30] I’ll be stalking you around here for sure lol

Ha ha, no problem!!! I find out Friday what time my surgery is on that Monday.

DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED... can you believe they changed my date. NY Presbyterian had the audacity to tell me that they didn’t have an operating room for this Monday coming up the 15th and that I had to be rescheduled for the 21st. I can’t even recite what I said to them because it’ll be a bunch of *********** ** **** ******** ******* but I was livid. Now I’m just sad that I have to wait another week.
Yo-Yo Girl from New York City [emoji4]
So sorry to hear they changed your date!!! Now we share the same surgery day, the 21st. Stay strong, before we know it it will be here.

wEOULD A DOUBLE DOSE OF CHILDREN S TYLENOL DO?
That I’m not sure about. Maybe google it.

Since I can’t take my ibuprofen after Friday ever again [emoji20] my drs said Tylenol extra strength. But numerous people in the waiting room and nursing staff said to get the liquid, it works faster and better. Of course I’m sure we will come home from procedure with some good pain meds. Just want to be prepared for Migraines and you know that favorite time of the month!!!

Hi Neri, I’m in pa too. I’m having gastric bypass May 21st at West penn hospital. My surgeon is Dr. Marr. Hope your process moves quickly for you.

I am worried too about my taste preference after surgery. I got my low sodium broth, a couple cans of cream of chicken Soup, Tomato Soup, sugar free popsicles, my recommended Protein powder in 2 flavors, lots of crystal light singles of various flavors, fat free refried Beans, Decaf cold brew tea, decaf coffee k-cups, and low sodium tuna in Water packets. I had to get new chewable Multivitamins since I had the gummies and my surgeon said they are a no-no. Still have to get a protein water and some G2.

I bought a pack of plastic disposable 2 oz containers with lids from Amazon. To help me after surgery I bought a shower puff that has a long handle on it for showering, just in case I’m in too much pain to bend over. Some small toiletries and face wipes for in the hospital so I’m not taking all of my big huge bottles. I did my huge grocery hall last night for the pre-op diet and for the 2 weeks after.

Prayers and congrats to all, I’m looking forward to keeping up with everyone that has a surgery date close to mine.
When is your surgery date?

I have an appointment with just these 3 for May 24th. Dare I hope this is more than a Hi Nice to Meet You session? See, I'm rather,a special case, I have been through another hospital's program twice. 1st time, my job terminated, lost that insurance coverage, was, going to have to switch to my secondary, didn't know secondary was less stringent and. I had done enough for them, dropped it bec a use I thought all was lost, that was January 2016. Returned last Autumn at the prompting of my PCP, we were trying to assist,my,own weight loss with phenteramine, I gained,30,pounds instead of losing. All my consults etc, were or close to 2 years old so I did everything over again for attempt#2. Finished everything up and was waiting for my surgery date to be set up, imagine my surprise when surgeon's office called, gave,me a cockamaimy excuse and " kicked me to the curb" Oh they phrased it a little fancier but thats what it was. Let's see,, I should be able,to remember the phrases, they are burned into my brain like somebody took a woodburner to it." Based on a faulty report from one of your evaluations, Surgeon(name available, upon request) and his partners have voted not to preform your Bariatric surgery at this or any other time" now in the employment world there is another common term, synanom is" excretement container", That's what it seemed to me.
So after crying a few days, I picked myself up,looked at me and my red puffy eyes and said "Well old girl, are YOU going to let them get away with this?" dusted the diet of them off me and my life, made an appointment at a PreSurgery Seminar at the facility I should have gone to in the first place. Why had I gone to that original place? My PCP had recommended it, thought it was more Christian-based and would treat me better. Pfooey, I had turned the other cheeck, got it bruised also, I'll take my chances with the heathens at my State University!
Seminar was March 9th, filled out application form, signed Transfer Of Information Form to get all my records from Verdompt ExProgram, and went home to wait. Less then 5 business days later, was called back, was told they were. very interested, could i come to Columbus for a meeting with their staff psychologist Dr Kramer at Martha Morehouse Pavilion on April 25th, did so , had great evaluation and nice one-on-one chat with him. Next step was a meeting with the same group,as prior poster spoke of. Can I hope and dream this could also be MY presurgical meeting? Oh please Sweet Lord in Heaven I hope so, I started out seeking Bariatric Surgery,in August 2015, not even a lady elephant is pregnant THAT LONG!
Maybe May 24th I'll hear good things? Going to feel that way until then!
I am so sorry you have been through all of this. I hope you do hear good things on the 24!!! Hopefully you don’t have to jump through anymore hoops!!! Sending positive vibes your way

I find out tomorrow, but the surgeons website says 2-3 week pre-op diet. I’m hoping it’s not 3!!!

Mine consisted of a NUT coming in to talk to me about the pre-op diet & things I would need for post op. Nurse came in to talk to me about the meds I had (they already ordered it and I picked them up).
nurse coordinator came in and told me about what would happen day of therapy and recovery, what I needed to bring to hospital etc. and then the surgeon came in to reiterate the procedure.
simpl stuff. The pre-op diet is hard. There will be temptation all day, everyday. You just have to know that there is an end to this and it’s to better yourself. When I had my VSG, broth was my life. Now that I am getting my RNY, I can’t stand broth and popsicles are my life lol
Thank you! My surgery center already sent My prescriptions this week. Picked them up and start on one today. The others are for after surgery. What Protein Shakes did you use for the pre-op diet? I had premiere Protein but my office recommended muscle milk.
8 days post op & barely feeling the restriction I felt even two days ago. Normal?

I felt the same way after surgery. Around about 3-4 weeks post op that started to change. It takes awhile to heal and I feel like that’s when I got the “full” feeling. Also starting on regular foods fills you up faster.
