    Going it alone?

Thanks for the support, to be honest it is purely for vanity reasons that I don't want him to be there. I may have to rethink it!! Thanks!! Anne xx
  3. Hi, I am looking for a little advice. I have my surgery booked for 21/05/08 in Belguim. I have decided that I don't want my hubby to go with me. I just feel that I don't want him stuck in a hospital, in a foreign country, watching me being ill!! My hubby isn't best pleased about this. Has anyone else does this alone? And if so, how was it? Thanks Anne xx

    looking for support

Thanks everyone for the replies, its good to have somewhere I can express my hopes and my fears with people who understand. I love my family dearly but they don't understand my situation. So thanks again.
  5. Hi, Through the help of AA meetings and the 12 step program I have been in recovery from alcoholism for the past 4 years. Since giving up alcohol, cigarettes and other mind altering substances my weight has sored which has led me to getting banded. I am getting banded on 21st May and I am worried that it the surgery might not be enough. I am worred that my eating habits are more psychological than through hunger. Does anyone have any advice they can give me? Will banding be enough to overcome this? Thanks Anne xx
  6. Hi, I am new to this site and I'm still trying to find my way aroud about it. I am getting banded on 21st May and I am really nervous. I am nervous not only about the surgery but also about how I will adapt to my new eating habits. I am afraid that I will burst the band (I don't even know if that is possible!) by overeating. I would love to have people who are in a similar position as myself that I can chat with and gain support from and give support too. Thanks Anne xx
  7. Hi all, I am having my surgery on 21st May. Im not 100% clued up on the surgery. Could someone tell me about the fills? I know they are to help not feel hungry but do you have different levels of fill? And what exactly does it entail? Thanks Anne

    Hi from Scotland

I've not had a pre op meeting yet, ive arranged everything over the phone and the internet, my first pre op meeting is one week before the surgery, so until then I am trying to learn as much as possible about the surgery.
  9. Hi, I'm just new to this site. I am having surgery on 21st May, I'm a bit nervous about it but eager to get it done. I was reading a few comments there and saw that I have to go on a liquid diet before the op, I wasn't aware of this so I'm glad I came across this forum as there's lots about the surgery that I'm not sure of. Thanks.
