I bought a pair of palazzo pants like this with more of a yoga type waist...I love them. Plus, I can wear some capri length spanx to smooth everything out.

I was really lucky since the bariatric surgeon and my PCM are in the same organization and it was as simple as asking him for the referral and he said I met all the criteria so it happened quite easily.

You look AMAZING and do not appear to have any loose skin at all...I know you are pretty young but did you use anything special on your skin? Congratulations!!

OK FC, I want you to go to a store like Kohls or somewhere with a big selection and try on various sizes and post some pictures from the fitting room and WE WILL ALL TELL YOU when you are wearing the right size and then all this too big stuff can be burned in a bonfire gotten rid of. I would think a small legging, small or medium top, size 6 jeans or jeggings and a size 6 dress will look fabulous and taking the pictures will prove it.

What is the point of a rude comment like that? If you can't say something nice or supportive and feel policing someone's grammar is necessary do it somewhere else.

What fruit can you and can’t you eat?
MIZ60 replied to OzCaz's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Don't eat fruit much at all but love the sweet red cherries available this time of year so I enjoy 6 after eating a meal. I also once in a while eat about 1/8th of my husbands' Fuji apple with no problems. Have not tried melon or citrus. -
By blacking out do you mean you lost consciousness and woke up on the floor? Maybe there is too much carb in the skinny cow ice cream bar and causes hypoglycemia? Was this the first time you had eaten one? I take supplements at night that bother my pouch if I do not eat something so I eat 1/2 of a Quest bar which is very low carb and pretty tasty. I have tried some of the HaloTop ice cream which is pretty good but not something I need to keep around here.

After several attempts at making the crust myself, I bought some of these which are fantastic. Crisp up really nicely on my baking stone. You can look at their website to find a store near you or you can order from their website. They also make smaller sandwich thins one that I also like. Clean ingredients and no flour, minimal carbs if that matters to you.

Food processor recommendation please!
MIZ60 replied to Sharon B A's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have this one from Black and Decker and it works great for everything. I pureed baked chicken and baked salmon as well as some veggies during that stage. I still use it to make cauliflower mash with some butter and garlic. I got it on eBay for about $20. -
Oh FC that sounds like a nightmare. so sorry to read about it and so glad you are on the mend and handling it like a champ. I know you are getting near goal #3 but this is a LITTLE EXTREME as a weight loss tactic. Please no more twisting and herniating and I hope you are able to avoid Rosemary's Baby poo....you crack me up.

“Geriatric pregnancy” after WLS
MIZ60 replied to Pushycat's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
My friend had bypass surgery about 10 years ago...she lost over 100 pounds, fell in love and got married at age 39. Got pregnant and delivered her first baby at age 41 with no complications. Decided to go for baby #2 and had a difficult pregnancy and her son born in December has Down Syndrome. He is adorable and she adores him but he will face a lifetime of challenges. -

These are the ones I got, they are at Natural Grocers if you have that store there or you can order online. They are kept frozen. -

My first attempt at pizza using a cauliflower crust was a success....I ate half of it and was super full. Will cut back on the toppings next time....used ground beef, canadian bacon, baby bella mushrooms, black olives, homemade pizza sauce and mixed Italian cheeses. Whole thing was 540 Calories, 44 grams protein, 10.4 net carbs and 36 grams fat. -
I have recently purchased some of these and actually toasted them in the toaster and they are very good. I also made a grilled cheese using pepper jack cheese and some uncured bacon and really enjoyed it. I have not eaten regular bread in years due to gluten issues. I also have a recipe for almond bread that is good but I feel better about the cauliflower "bread". I bought them originally at Natural Grocers near me but then ordered some online to try the different flavors (Italian and jalapeno) You can make them yourself with the same ingredients (many recipes out there) but, in my experience, it is pretty labor intensive and hard to get all the moisture out of the cauliflower.

What did you do with your old clothes and pictures after weight loss surgery success
MIZ60 replied to Summer56's topic in The Gals' Room
I either donate them locally or sell them on eBay if they are new with tags or barely worn items. I find that jeans and anything Harley Davidson sell well. In terms of pictures, I successfully avoided the camera for the most part but there are some pictures on FB of me when I was heavy. I do not really worry about them. -
Disturbing video for those using Fairlife milk
MIZ60 posted a topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I will not be purchasing from this company ever again in the future. My uncle was a dairy farmer in Wisconsin for about 40 years and he never ever treated his cows like this. He was always gentle and loving toward them. This video really makes me sick. -
Anything without sugar, like a martini or tequila on the rocks should be okay if you drink it slowly with a lot of water on the side. Only issues I have had with alcohol are when I drank sweetened (prickly pear margarita) or carbonated (prosecco) drinks, but others do not have the same issues. Try a few things before you go so you dont get sick and have a fantastic cruise.

What medical issues have you overcome since WLS?
MIZ60 replied to Jemma23's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The only place at this point (I still want to lose 40 or so more pounds) I notice it a lot is my upper arms so I do not wear sleeveless very often. My neck it also a little "turkeyish" and I am planning neck and face surgery next year but other than that I am not considering plastics. -
What medical issues have you overcome since WLS?
MIZ60 replied to Jemma23's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
In the year leading up to my surgery in May 2018 I was diagnosed with COPD by a pulmonologist based on pulmonary function testing. I have always had some seasonal asthma but this was much worse. I could not take a shower or walk across the street without wheezing/shortness of breath. I was placed on 3 daily medications (Breo, Spiriva and Singulair) and still had major issues. I was also treated by a spine physiologist for severe back pain...it was to the point that I actually let this doctor inject my spine on both sides due to the severe pain that occurred anytime I was upright for more than a few minutes. I had to drag a bar stool into the kitchen to cook a meal and my husband was looking into a walker with a seat for me since I could not go anywhere due to the pain. I can honestly say that I thought I would be dead in a year... Fast forward to today, one year after surgery. I am still working toward my goal but my health and life have improved greatly. I am off ALL COPD/asthma medications with symptoms so rare that I have used my inhaler about 3 or 4 times in the last year. I can do anything I want with no breathing issues. My pulmonologist is AMAZED and he is referring other patients to bariatrics as appropriate. I can do a brisk, 2 1/2 mile walk outdoors with no issues. My back does not hurt AT ALL even if I am up and walking all day. I can easily get on and off the motorcycle that I so enjoy riding with my husband. I have not taken so much as a tylenol in a year since surgery. I am currently 61 years old with no health issues, no medication other than OTC allergy meds and my MV and calcium supplements and I feel 10 years younger than I did a year ago. As a nurse practitioner, I would not have believed any of this if I had not experienced it myself. Having this surgery is the best thing that I have ever done for myself. -
1 year post-op starting to gain weight
MIZ60 replied to Nomanativ's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I personally would recommend adding some healthy fats and backing off on some of the carbs to better control your appetite. The snacking also adds up quickly, I have started eating sugar snap peas and flax crackers in place of more caloric snacks if I am really wanting something outside of meal time. Good luck!! -
CPAP & Aerophagia - Why was I never warned of this!
MIZ60 replied to Wendums's topic in Rants & Raves
You might also look into a dental appliance that adjusts the jaw position which eliminated the need for CPAP altogether. My husband (normal weight) has severe sleep apnea and even with the CPAP has multiple episodes every hour. His doctor referred him to a dentist who specializes in these appliances. They take an impression and make custom covers for the upper and lower teeth and there is a "hook" that holds them together when you sleep. The hook is gradually adjusted to manipulate the jaw forward (process takes a few weeks) and at a sleep study done a year ago his apneic episodes went to 2 for the whole night. This is so cool and has worked so well for him...it is great to be able to travel without the CPAP and he sleeps better than he has in over 30 years. -
Crystal Light Rustrations
MIZ60 replied to OhMyGracious!'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just looked in the pantry and none of my Crystal Light (powder sleeves) or Mio drops has caffeine. I am going to try the stevia drops posted by Healthy-life2 if I can find them. Trying to drink more plain water too. My sleeve seems to resist the plain water to a certain extent and I am not sure why...
