Although I haven't done a ton of research of the hunger hormone in the stomach or intestine I would have to beleive it plays a big part in the whole thing. We also should break bad habits and chose better food choices which is why I'm going to see a behavior therapist as well. Maybe they can help me get my mind right.

I'm having bypass. I thought about the sleeve but my doctor says alot of people get revisions to the bypass because they don't lose at much.

Nope that's it. My suregon didn't say I had to see my primary doc. I had a bunch of blood test, and metabolic testing (breathed in a tube for 20 min) it told me how many calories to eat in order to lose weight etc.

Yea, I feel duped too!! Not 100% settled on my doctor. Althought I vibe with her personality and appreciate the length of time she takes to answer my questions I wish her program was more detailed. I would love a list of the tests required. Didn't know about any of it until I progressed thru the process. Knowing I would need a EGD that would cost $3k would have been helpful. I'm calling my insurance weekly asking questions about my coverage and costs. I'm finding out different hospitals charge differently for the same proceedure AND that I should look for a COE facility. Ok, most of that is off subject....? but my point is I need to wrap my head around the tools (food scales, cups, books, apps) etc. that can help me pre and post op.

Hello!! Had my EGD on Tuesday my doctor said my hernia was huge and also prescribed me acid reflx medication. She didn't tell me much more and said she's talk more about it at my next appointment. Now I'm thinking which should be adressed first, my haital hernia, gallbladder(so I don't get kidney stones) or my reflux issues? Do I have an ulcer what else did she see and how serious is it?? Ugghh

Yeaasss!! And that's just the story you found on the website. I have the document from the Texas board of surgeon's with my doctors signature to the exact details. How did you find this article???

Maybe it wasn't the aortic "valve " but the man doesn't have legs as a result and the document I read and have saved is from the Texas medical board. It list her, her attorney and it was signed by her. I will ask her but definitely glad I found the info.

I read the statement from the board which said the surgeon punctured the aortic valve which cause heavy bleeding. When the valve was punctured it was closed back up as if she didn't know it was the aortic valve. The patient was rushed to a different hospital for treatment which is when another nurse noticed his legs were cold. Legs were amputated from the knees up. The surgeon was required to pay 1500 and go thru additional training. I know I missing a lot of detail but I sent the report to myself to share with my family. If I ask her about this situation I'm sure it will be awkward for her and myself...I REALLY like her and what's the chances of that happeneing again but still make me very concerned. Hope I'm not scaring others into not having surgery...[emoji52][emoji53]
