Does anyone have any experience at all with Aetna better health. I can't seem to get straight answers on requirements. Also curious on experiences as far as approval/ denial and timeframes. Any help at all would be great.

I called and they literally told me they can't find any info on the requirements. I started the process as an 3 mos in but have heard conflicting stories at to 3 or 6 mos. Did you have any specific requirements as to weight loss during the pre op period?

Has anyone here had issues with controlling thyroid level (presurgery) and if so has it gotten better or worse since surgery? Any help would be appreciated!

Not yet 😢 The last of my 6 mos weight loss visits with my pcp is July, so I'm hoping by early September!

Maybe its because im using my phone and kindle. I will have to try on my pc later. I dont see it anywhere on my page. (Im really not stupid, i swear) lol

Wow, I am so sorry you're recovery has been so rough, but congrats on being done! My surgery won't be until late Aug or early Sept I'm guessing. My last of the required 6 mos weight loss visits isn't until July 24th. I'm so anxious to just get it over with. If it's ok, I'd like to follow you on here and find out how you are progressing. I am eager to see if it helps with the thyroid levels. Thank u for taking the time to reply and I hope the recovery process gets easier for you! ~Chrissy

How far into the process are you daniellelosing?

I only have two tabs....My surgery and Activity

That's who suggested it to me as well. I am on synthroid 200 and can't get it where they need to be.

Crystal, you are almost there! I can't wait to be that far in the process.

My group was HUGE! I won't have the endiscopy, labs, ekg, etc until the very end. As a matter of fact I'm pretty sure my doctors like to perform the endoscopy part way in to the liver shrink. That's what I have been told by others who have had it done in tHe past.

My process began with a group seminar. Then six mos of pcp directed weight loss visits (I am half way through them) last wk I did my psych evaluation and my nutrition consult. My last pcp visit is July 13 and then I will finally see the surgeon on July 24. They tell me from there it's 4-6 wks till surgery.
