How often do you weigh yourself?
Like so many, daily in the morning. I was not given instruction on how often to way myself. I track it just like I track my food intake and walking. I'm sure I'll tire of doing it and will cut back but for now 2 weeks post op I want to know what's going on. I went up 2lbs earlier this week and stalled at that weight for three days following. I upped my calorie intake a bit and that seemed to get me back on track. I'm curious to see my weight tomorrow after my first day of phase 3.

When to start jogging?
Was telling my wife today as the weight comes off I should add weights to my backpack for my walks. Technically I wouldn't be lifting anything more than what I was already carrying.....

When to start jogging?
Maybe I wrote that wrong. Meant nothing but eliptical, stationary bike or walking. Those are allowed, nothing else is. No lifting anything over 10lbs which almost impossible.

For you guy's that weighed around 350 lbs. before surgery
It so great to hear a guys perspective and experience with surgery. Although I appreciate all the women and their responses on the main forums I think hearing a guys outcome gives a better idea of what's to come. Congrats and Thanx!!!

Cookbooks
I get a LOT of recipes from Pinterest. Type in the phase # or name ie:mushy or pureed or even bariatric diet and it will pull up plenty. Just be careful I always seem to fall down wormholes when I visit that site.

Newbie
Good for you on doing your thing. I could hardly walk five steps pre op due to back issues. Not sure how but since surgery my back pain is much more manageable and I have started taking 30ish minute walks. Hope to soon be able to get to 2 miles. Stick to it and you'll have no issues at all. I lost 30 plus lbs in four months leading up to surgery mainly by cutting out carbs. Tracking everything is a big plus. Good Luck and WELCOME!!!!!

Food Before and After Photos
I looked at it when I first put in the bowl and thought man I'm gonna kill this and want more. Nope. Sliced the banana and added to the baggy in the freezer with the rest of it and my dog was more than happy with that leftover egg. Insane.

Not looking forward to the loose skin but I'm ok with it. I hate my big ass gut right now. A flat gut with some hanging skin but a much healthier life sounds like a pretty good trade off.

When to start jogging?
Good for you. Pre op I would have never thought I would be interested in jogging. Post op I feel like I just want to do everything and I can't yet. Had my 1st follow up with my surgeon yesterday and was told to wait until 6 weeks post to anything past eliptical w/ no arms, stationary or walking. Not even swimming until incision scars are fully healed. No scabs, has to me only my skin over spots.

Tracking app suggestions?
100% my thoughts. Baritastic is good but had a soup that was not on their list. Tried adding it but could not figure out what to do. Stopped using it after that. Really the only thing I liked better was the water tracking part of it.

Surgery done!! And listen what happen with my nurse prep
I would not have been so nice. It's not anyone's but your surgeons place to say something like that. Good for you for staying calm and hats off to your husband for keeping you there. Good luck on your recovery!!!

Scales
I have the same problem with my POS scale. It will sit in the same spot for days and when it decides to not play nice it just reads ridiculously low or the number steadily scroll and gives me no reading. I want one them old school scales with the two weights that slide across the bar. Put it on zero when you are off of it and you know it's accurate. Or at least probably more accurate than the digital ones.

Post op 3 days
No need to worry. It'll all be fine. Stay excited instead of worried for the wonderful future that you'll find on this journey!!!!!

Vision issues
Pre op I wore readers from time to time. Since surgery I've had to use them more often. I just figured it was my youthful eyes losing the battle but now reading this I am hopeful they will get better.

Newbie! Had gastric band op on Monday 23rd.
Congrats to you!! I had sleeve done 2 weeks ago, I was given tylenol with codeine but only used it for two days after I as the pain was not that bad after I left the hospital. It's hard to say what would work for you pain, everyone's tolerance is different. Maybe try otc tylenol and if that doesn't work ask your surgeon if they could give you something. My brother had band surgery years ago. I won't say the band failed him but rather he failed the band. His will power was not strong and very soon after having it he gave into temptation and started back on old bad habits. He even went back in a few years later and had it readjusted. Still he failed it. He's lost some weight in the last year or so and has been talking about having a sleeve done. Best of luck to you on reaching your healthy place!!!!
